i think in this day and age of EL with so many character buyers around they think throwing the brod threat around gives them some instant credibility and respect also, with the advent of buy one week sell the next characters, the people throwing this $$ around dont really giv e a flying monkeys if you have saved for like 3 months to buy your stuff with in game GC u got yourself, because they bought most of thier stuff with $$, and therefore dont understand the loss factor as well when i first started playing EL , i heard of maybe 1 guy using the brod and that was liquid back in his evil days - now it seems like its how you deal with problems in EL - threaten the brod after like 1 chat and tho im prolly wrong about character buyers making the brod more acceptable part of EL , i still dont like them ( or the brod )

it seemed like 45 mins to load a game ! and yes I had lots of issues with the tapes loading, Commando did it, Dick Tracy did it alot to , TMNT I remember my friend and I played Dick Tracy for weeks trying to kill the end boss it was damn near impossible ( I seem to remember the difficulty lvl on these old games was insanely hard ) , anyways by fluke my friend managed to kill the end boss and after all that loading, dying, retrying for what seemed an eternity we were so excited to see the end credits roll across the screen and there were none. The screen just went kinda fuzzy looking and the words ''Congratulations'' appeared in a black box. needless to say we felt somehow this was not enough lol And the programming aspect I really dont remember I only tried it once and the game called Dolphin looked more like a stick and some circles that had no purpose And yes, the tape deck worked more consistently when you jammed the tape in with a metal object lol IIRC it was that the decks arms would not close properly for some reason and that meant the tape would not align with the reading part or the wheels OMG it chewed alot of my tapes to But still, every kid should be as frustrated over something as I was with the 128k , it builds character

holy blast from the past Batman first ever games system i was given was the Spectrum 128k and the games were loaded with cassettes lol that was tedious waiting around 35-40 minutes for a game to even load, and now we bitch when we get 3 second lag on EL but the game that stuck out for me on spectrum was Dizzy the Egg thinger, that was cool And also Predator based on the movie because I literally couldnt get past the first 15 seconds of the game it was IMPOSSIBLE ( you walked along like a side scrolling platform game, didnt even get chance to shoot anyone and then the red triangle of the predators laser target would appear on screen and blow you away EVERYTIME , you couldnt jump or run or anything it just shot the **** out of you without fail ) and it still took like 45 mins to load ( if it didnt crash after 30 mins load ) , loved it SCREEEEEEECH *static static * SCREEEEEEEEEEECH * i even attempted some programming on the spectrum it was possible to programme your own games with it so i followed this magazines codes to make a simple game called Dolphin , it took hours to write and it sucked !!! Spectrum 128k why do I remember it fondly when it was obviously designed by a sadist

also by encouraging so much interaction with NCPs, doesnt that take away the basis of an MMO ? that being interaction with other people based upon your chosen skills. if I wanted to play a game where I didnt want to interact with humans because they all pi55 me off id just sit and play pacman on the atari

honest to god Liam i have and still really have absolutely no idea how much of the GC selling market goes on, what motivates it, how it changes in game prices or anything like that I do find it wierd how people just seem to be sort of conceding that a group of players who must be in a minority ( the gc sellers ) can change the price of a rosto in game simply because they decide 1$ is worth 8kgc.

so let me get this straight, we are now saying that the GC selling market has the potential to start dictating in game market prices? or where did we get the 8k:$1 ratio thing?

i might just be reading between the lines here but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Price_fixing says there are regulations to combat this even in capitalist societys ( pretty free market too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_market ) funnily it says a controlled market but I agree we should disagree USL , because aparently EL is a mixed economy with both aspects of freedom and control, so im wrong on alot of lvls about alot of things but about bots controlling the EL market ? if im wrong about that why did learner remove all these rostos from bot owners to force people to undercut them ?

adjusting to the changes is something we all do yes, but how we do it and the reasons we see the need for adjustment are all subjective. Since, you know, This is just a random sample of a large amount of criticism Rraisa received, in her primes, by bot owners that were worried that she would have forced fierce competition among bot owners, pushed prices down, reduced margins to 0, and thus destroy the economy. Now you tell me that Rraisa is pushing prices up, making sales impossible, and thus destroy the economy. I didnt say Rraisa is pushing prices up, I said she damages peoples perception of the free market because she takes away player communication and replaces it with bot ownership rights to price fluctuations. I dont really care too much for algorythms and fancy mathematical equations when the evidence suggests to me that people use Rraisa as the yardstick as to what the price of an object is. By doing this the bot owners have a greater influence on the percieved market value than they would have if people still had to communicate with each other, or check the market channel for a price ( which is usually futile anyways because the price given to you is given after a quick search from rraisa :s ) I disagree, and I disagree because the very fact Rraisa is in place gives the overwhelming advantage to bot owners in setting pre determined prices and therefore sales. Example : Player A. Has no bot, makes great sword , tries to sell on market for $32kgc . Player B. Has bot, bot buys sword for 20kgc from idiot X, resells for 28kgc on market. Rraisa gives information out as to who has what price. Which person makes the sale ? Player A or B ? people are banding around this phrase free market economy like it is EL's system. It isnt really, a free market economy does not rely upon God altering the influx of available items. A free market economy has rules in place that prevent/discourage price fixing between companies. In a free market economy prices tend to go down when theres more competition between sellers, not up , as has happened in EL. And you say the demand outstrips the supply? I disagree again, theres are apparently thousands of each rare item in the game at any one time and around 500 players, so no there is no shortage other than a shortage of logged in players.

*observation time* Eternal Lands seems to be a game where people enjoy a situation becoming worse. Its applauded and praised. Ive said recently I believe some people spend too much time playing this game and end up looking at things in a very wierd way. I believe this to be the case with the latest situaion to. Its almost like sadism. You stamp on my nuts and I scream yay thank you. *solution time* 1.Buy from Shop more rostos and flood the game with them at 20kgc , which is a fair price 2.Wait for there to be no more rostogol activity on bots or market, rostogols will be something bought from the shop and passed between friends, it will be a benefit to know plenty of people 3.Dont allow bots to stock shop items , lol shock horror suggestion but hey at least im brain storming 4.Remove rraisa from the game, she damages peoples perception of the free market. it no longer is a free market when price fixing occurs, and with rraisa, price fixing has occured by proxy. And yes Ozmondius is right that an informed consumer pays less, but there are better ways to inform ourselves like *shock horror* speaking to each other in chnnl3 and PM ?

so loosing 20kgc or $5 a pop wasnt dreadful enough ? I get it thats a freaking excellent point in fact while were at it why dont we increase breakrates to like 1 in 2 chance of completely breaking every time you get hit ? thats really dreadful and would definately make people stop and think before even bothering to log into EL im seriously disapointed with this Rosto move , especially done by someone like Learner who I thought was more concerned about the game than is apparent by buying all rostos and raising the prices personally I cant really afford to be buying rostos with $$ so im unable to flood the game with them but tbh thats a fucking crass move if thats what this is all about *edit* and if the point was to make someone angry well im not really angry but I do think that you have abused your position in the game greatly by doing this. People obviously give you mass amounts of GC in return for your other game services and to use this and your obvious domination of the EL lottery to artificially raise prices is disgusting. Gratz.
