El Is Capitalist Game Right ?

Recommended Posts

While most of my oppinions are socialistic/communistic, I do not think that any of the current or former states that have claimed to be either, are truely socialistic/communistic. They are essentially dictatorships, misusing the philosophies as terror tools to increase the elite's power. Except from perhaps Tristan Da Cunha, where many socialistic ideas work - sadly there's only very few people there, and it has gotten me to believe that you can never get socialism/communism to work in a larger state, due to the differences of people - instead, one can just try to get as many socialistic thoughts into the country's politics (i.e. social security - health care, free education etc.)...

Giving the elite more power has nothing to do at all with the spirit of the philosophies - try reading your Marx once more. It is only created by the corruption of power.

Indeed Wytter and Pavel :)

Communism is the philosophical belief that all of us are equal no matter our age, race, gender or ability and that we are all entitled to no more nor no less than the next person. (which i believe in)

Socialism is the political system that tries to put these beliefs into practice with the redristibution of wealth. power and belongings.

Unfortunatly like Wytter said this doesnt and probably will never work due to humans instinctual need for power, wealth and glory and the underlining belief that most people have, is that they consider themselves to be better than others.

Yet if more people actually held and practiced communist views then the world may yet become a better place :)

if you are in a guild (especially lnx) we try to help eachother, and the fact that we all use linux makes us a little communist.

So, getting the best product for the lowest price, with the freedom to select and pay for exactly what fits your needs and money (eg Debian vs RHAS) is communist, vs. having an all-powerfull leader that decides both what you will buy (IE is integrated, period) and for what price (or the BSA will come after you) is not?

Last time I checked, it was the other way around.

shame on us! Trying to earn an living....shame, shame.

Oh please...don't tell me you're one of those people that wants to eat every day.

Forgive me lord, for I have sinned...

BTW- Capitalist doesn't mean trying to make money, it means money-centered. I'm socialist, but I still have to make a living

This topic reminds me of something I once read:

When you are a teenager you are an "Anarchist" because you don't want to follow any rules.

When you are in college you are "socialist" because you want everyone else to share with you since you have no money.

When you are out of college, fresh into the job market, you are "democratic" because you are making some money but not enough for insurance.

When you get to be older and more stable, your kids have moved out, and you've been promoted to being the boss you are "republican" because you want to keep all of the money your making because it has taken so long to make it.

Leeloo, that's right it is communist. The whole Open Source movement is pretty much text-book communism btw (... well marxism) - the opposition to copyright (or in communist lingo the ownership of production means).

Do you actually realise that "pure" communism means no government at all ? That it is a form of anarchism ?

Communism is basicly an ideal/utopia of equality towards which all socialist movements/governments claim to aspire to (that means everything from the former soviet government to the UK labor party). And as you can expect it has very often been dumped once power has been reached. There are however a few examples that show that it can work.

Communist vs capitalism isn't a discussion about freedom, it's a discussion about property rights, ownership, economy. Unless you happen to be one of the brainwashed victims of the cold war that is...

But back to the topic: let's feed the devs, they aren't getting rich yet :o

And i think it's more if you make the economy truely capitalist, because of the conflicts that arise. B)

Erm...then Canada, Norway, and Sweden are run by 20-25 year olds? Right... :o

Anyway - Flame the freeloaders :D ...just kidding there...or was I B)

Axes, magical weapons, and such are optional.

The whitelist will allow you to use ANY non-web based e-mail. If your internet browser has one or you have Windows, that is fine to use.

If we wanted to make the game capitalist, we could charge to play it. We don't. Simple enough?
