ttlanhil Report post Posted July 19, 2005 the arrows to navigate through the pages sometimes don't work, while the numbers work fine (sometimes the arrows work fine for a number of pages then stop) Like the encyc and all, the last open page is remembered. not sure if this is the best for sheets of paper or not like the encyc window, if you go to console and back, the book has been closed the current book font is a little hard to read in some cases the book will start a new paragraph even if it can only put one of 8 lines on that page. more work, but having it think a bit about splitting may help For long titles, it can run out of space in the title of the window the book only having 15 lines means that you can't put much information on it. the sheet of paper at 20-something is better at least also, being able to have links to later chapters in the page itself would be good (think contents page, though I have something else in mind)
ttlanhil Report post Posted July 20, 2005 another issue that I didn't mention before was the number links across the bottom, for books this is -4, -2, (current), +2, +4 from current page. that works fine, but single page is -5, -2, +2, +5, which doesn't work so well, esp when the arrows stop working
ttlanhil Report post Posted July 20, 2005 another bug report, formatting with the book type when reading one of the books I made, using the tester in the arena, one of the newline spacings was missing. it did, however, render right using the page background. If you wish to test it with the same book, go to http://ttlanhil.tripod.com/EL/book_launch.htm select the 'laws of the land' option, save that book to ./books/testbook.xml, and go to the arena(2002 only, the two books on the desk) and check it. from the source: Know ye, that before the bulk of the laws of the land, there are 6 golden rules. Mind thy Tongue Ye shall not use language improper, foul, insulting, or otherwise offensive to those who may hear. the extra newline between golden rules and mind is missing, but only in the book version.
