SaintV Report post Posted January 16, 2005 You misunderstood... the "baddies" are people who voluntarily role play as bad guys in the game, lol. It's not really people who are doing bad trades and stuff. If you read my first post, i got confused into thinking this was about a "real" in game police force. But is like a class thing, like say you can be a miner, harvester, fur trader, etc... with this you can also be police or a bad guy. Leeloo Report post Posted January 16, 2005 Well, allowing the bad guys to set a tag for being badguy or not won't work. The idea is to be able to do something about scammers or bag jumpers, people who are not breaking the rules, but still doing bad stuff. If a scammer is allowed to set the tag, he would just set it so that he is not a bad guy, thus rendering the police force useless. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

So chat logs and screenshots are bad proof for this kindof situation because they can be modified... it seems the only possible solution without extensive coding is good police. No, mods only interfere when people are breaking the official rules. A judge maybe? Making the whole concept even more complicated, but that's the way it works in real life. kl4Uz Report post Posted January 20, 2005 baddies - who r the baddies ? who define a baddie ? a private police like u wanna have it, force the abusing of power. if a guy dont like an other he punish him. and who define for which does and donts u get punished - should EL going to a police state ? things like scamming rnt illegal (they r not against EL rules), so there is no need for a punishment. scammers get punished by public them on a post. when a guy isnt trustable - dont trade with him. when u need to bag trade - take lesser amounts and trade a few times or u still know the person which u give ur bag. when u get scammed its (most times) ur own fault. deathbagjumpers or bagjumpers on tp victims should also get post and than ppl can take their bags, thats a better solution than a police force. a own force - thats not a solution, it force more problems (abusing, amount of punishment like days be arrested for delicts,... ) and mark scammers with tags ? - public posting is the same like tags - what if such guys r in a guild - where r the guild tags ? and mark them with tags, uuhhmm wasnt there a such system in history who mark unpopular ppl with davids star in the 30s - 40s, forced by a force called SA. is this the way EL goes ? full ack Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
