Just Downloaded Game But Server Won't Connect

I just downloaded this game. When I click on start icon I get the message saying"connecting to server" and some dialogue on getting help in the game, but that is it. It never actually connects. I tried downloading the patch too but that made no difference. I have a ti4600 video card and the drivers are current. Any suggestions?
