  1. Your RP Character(s)

My RP character is also my main: master Maxim Ironfist. Orphan when he was just a baby, he was raised by Ballador Ironfist, retired first knight of the Order of the Dragon. Maxim learned how to handle a sword since he could barely walk, and at the age of 14 (time when Ballador died by age) he joined the army of the kingdom of Scandia. Later, at the age of 20, with a great expertise on the art of sword slinging, Maxim went on a travel for wisdom, knowledge and meditation that ended him up on Seridia, where he actually lives. ...just backgrounding, I ain't gonna show up everything about my character in one post of course!! lol
  2. Beastking from BoH guild

Today in Tirnwood vale, at Raven's, a large gargoyle walked in and killed 5 low level players. I quickly dealt with it and all players there decided to leave the bags for their respective owners. Then, this guy, Beastking, came and jumped one of them. Here's the chat log of his reasons: Cadje: Guild Brotherhood of Honor has 12 members. The guild URL is: NoneGeneral info: We are an honorable guild dedicated to helping new players get the most out of EL Cadje: yeah Cadje: we see that Master_Maxim: beast that was awful kRub: lol Beastking: hey noone showed me any mercy ive lost a ton of stuuf because of db jumpers so i dont show any back Master_Maxim: ok, whatever beanmaster: shame shame..two wrongs dont make a right Master_Maxim: you want to be as hated by everyone as you hate your jumpers? Master_Maxim: then go for it beanmaster: lol co is always needing new members Master_Maxim: same for Hc, I think they're still recruiting lol Beastking: no i just pick up stuff i find it helps when u lose all ur mony kRub: be back Master_Maxim: but that stuff doesn't belong to you, get it? Master_Maxim: and taking it it's wrong Master_Maxim: you don't fit in a "honorable" guild with that way of seeing things, sonny Quontrol: well, we could heal his mobs... beanmaster: well stealing a car hurts a person as bad as stealing their wallet Master_Maxim: I think it's time to IG the BoH guild Beastking: so does the deers antlers belong to u does the foxes fur u find belong to u no u pick it up i Master_Maxim: it's not the same Beastking: just find things Master_Maxim: if you find animal remains they're worthless, and belong to no one Master_Maxim: whoever left them laying around did it because he didn't want them Master_Maxim: but if they die and accidentally drop items, that's a different story Beastking: yes it is some one kill the fox and left the fur just like a monster kill a person and leaves the stuff Master_Maxim: but monsters don't pick up items -_- returning the deathbags is a moral rule, nothing else Master_Maxim: "don't do to others what you wouldn't like to be done" Beastking: moral not standard Master_Maxim: then go for it, you've sentenced yourself Master_Maxim: people like you should never find out EL kRub: yeah Willson: stop that bs and use pms Master_Maxim: I'm done kRub: yeah, one 1EFE Beastking: a ton of people do it not just me what the hell is ur deal with me five minutes ago u wouldnt have crared if i killed 1mill der but now u beanmaster: grats Mother Nature got pissed off at FearOfTheDark. As such, s/he lost 13 health Master_Maxim: but deers aren't players, open your damn eyes FearOfTheDark was stung by a bee, losing 6 health Beastking: want to pick on me because i picked u a few items on the ground? Master_Maxim: deers don't care about losing items they were done for that purpose!! beanmaster: you are a bambi killer? omg hehe Master_Maxim: what if you've found a plate set, serpent sword and so? FearOfTheDark found a bag of gold, getting 14 gold coins Master_Maxim: or a standard training set? Master_Maxim: it's not the same Cadje: I contacted the guild, but no reaction at all Master_Maxim: so far I'll report you in forums, got enough of you Willson: *sigh* Mother Nature got pissed off at Elder_Fox. As such, s/he lost 18 health Beastking: i dont go looking for dbs i just find them god ...just watch out this guy if you're training and he's around.
  3. next invasion

Well... how about making invasions like this: No monsters nor players will drop bags (like a no drop day), but items would still be breakable. I think more people would be attracted to the raids this way since there's no risk of losing valuable items within death, just by breakage. Just a quick tought my two cents as Piper would say. EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention. That system would also prevent the bag spamming that results from the mass invader monster killing.
  4. Sincerely... I think that you see items prices going lower everytime and think that making items more rare will solve it... There's no need at all for something like this, but sure it could be used to get extra exp when you're at that area. I don't think this brings any realism at all... making an item yourself will give you experience as well... But well, just my humble opinion: I don't like it.
  5. well... it makes it even deadlier... and there's no need I think lol
  6. Indeed, it's enough having to worry about disengaging/healing/item loss and other things going on your environment if you're on PK or multi (or both at once) maps... directing your hits in combat would take too much attention out. And note down what Vanyel and petersohn just said... So, I don't like this idea, would make everything far more complicated.
  7. Whats your favorate band?

Good Charlotte #1 for me... go go go Madden twins!!!
  8. Aislinn's nickname always made some kind of memory echo in my head... now I realized what it was. This screenshot is from the spanish version of Heroes of Might and Magic III The Restoration of Erathia. He's Aislinn the necromancer... maybe her source for the nick? lol PD: This thread doesn't mean harm at all nor an attack against the mods, just joking.
  9. The rollback

Excellent explanation. I knew it was a dream and a glimpse of the future. Yeh... a dream that showed us what will happen if we get too greedy lol :smartass: Maxim Ironfist
  10. Drop bags

Well I made a quick search and I didn't find anything proposing this, so my apologies if this has been proposed before. What I wanted to say is: didn't you ever found annoying to open a drop bag from certain monsters? Like you have to turn the camera aside until you can see a small piece of the bag because your cloak covers it, or animals like pumas that leave a very very thick space to click the bag. I know, you can easily solve it by dropping something and picking it all up again but, why not set an option (that can be toggled on/off) that will make you automatically open a bag when you kill an enemy and stand on the drop? Well just a thinking that has just come to me, tell me what you think. Maxim Ironfist
  11. Drop bags

Yeah you're right, but we were just looking for a more comfy solution, but there are more important things left to be done first. And sorry, I didn't use these keywords
  12. Client release candidate 3

With GeForce 6200 TurboCache (256MB RAM), 1GB RAM memory and AMD 3200+ runs perfectly ok with me. The only problem I've got is that about light fog following me everywhere and disappearing on relogs... could someone check it? I've posted two screenshots earlier. About the cooldown color... I agree with Vitez, it's ok the way it is, darker would make it confussing with the dark background. EDIT: Concretely, I've posted the screens in post #25
  13. radon pouches idea

Yeah, up with this one!! I hit 2 pouches straight a while ago while harvesting titanium and was annoying like hell... at least it would add something possitive to it: like piper says, maybe a stone or ore jumping out due to the explosion, or special item uncovering with the effects he says. Well, summing up, I like it.
  14. Devoid of Happiness

Maxim Ironfist, a human master swordsman, had been walking around northern White Stone City area all day long, paying close attention to the gargoyles at the diamond mines. He liked to improve his own combat abilities and keep the miners safe at the same time. -"Gods, am I tired..." Maxim said with a yawn while laying down in the fields. He decided to have a walk to Vermor castle then, there were some gargoyles there as well, and maybe he would drop by Unolas' temple, one of the gods that he was following. When he was walking near south-western edge of the forests of the Fall, one of his boots' cord broke. -"Oh, great..." he said while kneeling down to fix it. It was then when he felt a 'woosh!!' over him - "what in the...!?" he exclamated while getting up, drawing his sword and looking around him. A beautiful horse had just jumped over him, and seemed to be hurrying towards Tirnwood vale. -"Maybe the horseman riding it fell off in the forests" Maxim tought quickly, as he ran the opposite direction the horse went. OOC: Well didn't know how to start exactly... so if you want me in you can make me appear in your next post
  15. Client release candidate 3

Erm, well the new client runs really fine for me but I've experienced something I don't know if someone else has. When I get light fog in my screen (when I go to WSC or so), it follows me even inside buildings and other indoors. Piper told me that they should disappear after a while, but I had been waiting for like half an hour since I noticed it and the fog was stuck there and there it stays until I relog in a place with no fog. When I get fog in screen, even if I turn off the fog rendering, it goes away, but reappears as soon as I tick the option box on again (even if I'm indoors). There's a proof screen, inside diamonds mine in WSC (if I log out in there and log in again, fog's gone, but comes back again as soon as I go outside: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c288/Mas...nds/Screen1.jpg And this one inside Nordcarn's storage, look at the edge of the scenario: there's a cut there, that way it's easier to see the foggy inside: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c288/Mas...nds/Screen2.jpg
  16. Well this is a simple proposal that won't add much to the gameplay itself... but will just look cool As well as we have the sit down/get up command, that is useless but looks nice for roleplaying, we could add another one that would allow us to hold back or draw our weapons if we have one equipped. That way, if you equip a sword, you can choose to put it away to your belt and draw it later, just the same way you sit down/get up (with a button in your toolbar or a shorcut like Alt+(something)). If you're caught in a battle while having your weapon held in your waist, it would automatically be drew, to be put away again after the battle. This will add a bit more roleplaying to the game, will look great and specially if you make each kind of weapon look different: swords will be held downwards with the hilt up, hammers and axes will hang from the belt attached to it by their handle, staffs could be put on the back or the character could use them to walk (or disable the put away command to this kind of weapon). Shields could be left on the player's left arm or put on their backs, not sure about this point. Well so, what do you think? I really think it would look nice Maxim Ironfist
  17. Weapon holding/drawing

Roja it's not hiding the weapons, just placing them in your belt or back, still visible
  18. Feeding yourself and funny gems.

Aren't sapphires supposed to be always blue? Green gems are emeralds already, and a yellow gem could be a topaz (for more colours, there are also purple ones called amethysts... never played Diablo 2? ) About the food spell... well I don't really care, I don't think I would use it, but sounds quite coherent to me. EDIT: Typos...
  19. Calling all guildleaders

Vanyel, yeah, I read both posts, and took those ideas out of them, so maybe your way of expressing things? And @Arnieman: you think it's really a dark second intention behind when I say that "no one agreed to it" (I include myself) right after? of course that's a misconception.
  20. Calling all guildleaders

So... Sticking to what Roja said, we can't (or shouldn't) set up some kind of organisation to struggle against those that can make a day in EL awful by some non-against the rules but yes annoying act, we have just to let them step over us. And, Vanyel, I think you're getting things a bit out of hand, no one's thinking bad about people not willing to join the council. I think that it was that unfortunate post by MagpieLee about the "outlaw guilds" that started this out... but it's not that way, no one actually agreed with that (of course not). Just try to see beyond, try to see the real intention.
  21. Ages

Man, why do you think we are called the "Eternals"? lol
  22. Reset Server?

    1. Read the main page of www.eternal-lands.com, where it says that you've got the chance of having an early start, then get advantage. Players that started before you and have higher levels have got that advantage, what would be unfair is trashing all their efforts (personally, I would suicide if I lose my character for that reason lol). 2. High leveled players keep markets sorted of first need items you can buy from them.
  23. SNES Guild

http://www.eternal-lands.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=20757 Lufia is the leader and creator of the SNES guild... check that. Seems like a guild of random thieves and bagjumpers...
  24. Negative Perk discussion

Well, got to this thread a bit late and didn't read it 100%, so if I repeat something please don't flame I just wanted to say: If you people dislike negative perks... plainly don't pick any negative perk ^^ Negative perks are something you have to think carefully before you take it, and always gotten at the player's own risk. I would even go further and say that neg perks are the main reason for #reset, just like a gambling act (you try to see if you can live with a handicap in exchange for some stats improvement). But that also lets you correct any mistakes made while you started your character out and also get more specialized on the role you wanna play (incase of Gelatine Bones and I Can't Dance: players decide to become weaker in combat to improve, let's say, magic abilities, or their manufacturing, etc... via nexuses; incase of the famous Power Hungry and Antisocial, you give up to a stable food level, that will be annoying for manufacturing and book reading, and give up the NPCs, that you need for some materials supplying, in exchange for more combat power via attributes or human nexus), and that, since there are no character classes in this game, is a way of making a difference between fighters, mages, alchemists... But well that's just my opinion, and I wrote it just out of a handle of seconds thinking... like it or flame it Maxim Ironfist
  25. The invasion of Mortos

Thank you Derin Even tought I lost some minor equipments because of my death, I enjoyed the event so much, so much that I found it worthy of writing about it It was really a lovely sight to se how warriors from different guilds and people who didn't know each other cooperated to kill the monsters that invaded our beloved lands. I'm anxiously waiting the next event, and training hard until it comes I hope to see you all back in the battlefield then ^_^ Maxim Ironfist
