    You know, I have thought ALOT about this since yesterday. Take my character for example..

     

    Harvest: 87

    Atk/Def: 90's

    Alchemy: 77

    Manu: 52

     

    With one trip to the iron mine, I can make 70 steel bars. 16 are needed for S2E. so, with 3 trips to iron mine I can make 13 S2E. This means that it takes me about one hour to earn a hydro bar since, I can make the S2E, harvest the ores (fight off atkers) and make the bars. My high emu has ALOT to do with that.

     

    So, I wonder how long does it take someone with say 400 or so emu to do the same? 2-3 hours? so, for me it would take about 50 hours to get 50 hydro bars (maybe a little more gathering coal and what not too). But at this ratio, it will take the 400 emu person 150 or more hours to earn 1 point.

     

    This spread seems large, and this idea seems like a perk for the powerful.

    So, I change my yes vote to a no please (not that it matters tho :) )

    Great idea man. I had also thought it would be cool if you sold PP from the El Store for say $5 per. But then you would need to add a field in the database for each char saying how many the char has purchased for real money. Then when they #reset, they would reset as normal but have the PP they bought all ready to be allocated. ;)

     

    Your money problems would melt away ;)

    The bot can't cast spells it doesn't have the sigils for, so unless you want a guardbot that can't heal, you will need to buy the sigils and give it essences to heal itself.. Levelling magic is not required as heal is a level 0 spell.

     

    However, if you want your bot to Restore.. Yes you do have to manually level them to that level. Or, get people to donate their alts and spend $5 to rename them??

    Labrat,

     

    I have not looked into the reason it's failing, but you are exactly right. When writing the bot, I assumed that the manager of the bot char would ensure it had the sigls to cast the necessary spells: Heal, Restore, Magic Immune, and Teleport to Range.

     

    Note, the bot does not try to cast the spells if it does not have high enough magic level. But since heal requires no magic level, it could very well be trying to cast it without the sigls and thus getting a nasty message from the server and being dis-connected (though it does check to see if you have the ess needed first). It could also be trying to warn on GM that it has ran out of health ess and not being in a guild, the server may have an issue with that? Not sure.

     

    So, the easy answer for you Quimb is to level the chars up a little and get the required sigls for the above spells and join the guild. Then all should work fine for you.

     

    I doubt I will go back into the code at this point, you will know why in a day or so.

    Hello All,

     

    There appears to be a HIGH demand for the source code to Kill Bots and such. I have GREATLY improved the RedKnight 1.0 source code which seems to be floating around as common place. This code is the same code that drives Perun, IRON's kill bot. He has never been killed, and no-one has passed him since he began running this code! Some of my enhancements include:

     

    - No more items array, All items are dynamically identified by requesting the info from the server.

    - Server HostName and Port and debug level are now configurable without needing to re-compile the bot.

    - New text files define what items the bot should equip and with what priority.

    - The bot can now be ordered via pm to guard a particular x,y coordinate on your map and returned home when told.

    - Teleport to Range, Magic Immune, and true sight are now implemented.

    - Priority kill status given to people who re-enter his sight or summon.

    - Better alerting when running out of essences or food.

    - Support for eating all types of food.

    - MANY, MANY, MANY bugs fixed.

    So I guess now we all may as well just use the file Entropy is providing.. we are still limited to once every 5 mins. So, Maybe if one person could ask for permission to poll it every minute, and then offer a consumable page for the rest of us? That would rock.

    Okay, I have Charn, Shari, Freya, and Richery all updated to use the new file. The question now is how often may I poll that file? I would like to do so once every minute if that would be acceptable?

     

    My bots deliver mail messages to users just like Gossip does, as well as maintain a list of online guild members that we can see. So, the more up to date the info, the better.

    Just a guess, since it happened to me once:

    are you using a laptop? if so maybe you have enabled the use of part of the keyboard as numpad? I remember I even rebooted a couple of time before noticing the little led was on (rebooting didn't disabled it, for me at least).

     

    Well, I have tried on 3 different computers. 2 desktop machines, and 1 laptop. Same result from every machine. I have not tried looking at the packets, but I will do so today.

    This is a real strange one. I Manage Freya for Blackthorne. The bot runs on my server, and so I have the password in my bot program. The bot program logs in fine and the bot runs fine as it has since the beginning. However, Freya occasionally moves one or two spaces right or left when she gets disconnected (as all my bots seem to from time to time) and since I have not walking code in them, I have to login to the EL client to move them back home.

     

    When I try to log Freya in via the official EL client, it tells me "Error: The password is wrong!". I have checked the password in the bot's config file about 3 dozen times and tried to login from 3 different computers over the past month. I know that I am not typing it wrong, and I know I am using the correct password, or the bot app would not log in...

     

    So, the challenge is to think about what else could possibly be effecting this? It's driving me crazy! Please help.

    I assume that at one point in time drinking a coord pot temporarily increased your EMU. This is no longer the case (I wish it were but that's prolly a feature, not a bug). Anyway, why then when I drink a coord pot and then trade someone within the 5 mins it takes to wear off does it say: "Either you or the other person has higher emu than normal" and does not permit the trade?

     

    Is this a legacy safty thing that can now go away? It seems so to me.

    havent we beaten this dead horse enough?? Ammends were made. Besides that, I dont recall Kidberg and Deuce asking to keep it secret that they are cousins. So her sharing that info was no big deal. If they were hurt by this, I want to ask... why did they want it secret?? And why did they not approach her to ask about it?

     

    Second, the reason they were kicked from IRON is because they scammed people together as a team.. then claimed they did not know each other. Solorni knew different, so she shared the truth. Sometimes the truth hurts, but should we stand by and allow someone to propegate lies when we know the truth? We will not.

     

    PS - This thread is getting ugly.. and way off topic.. any chance we could end it now?

    Wizzkidd, IRON ppl say not to involve the entire guild in this, but now you are doing it to DoA yourself, i bet they're not all loosers..

     

    anyway this topic sux :P

     

     

    you are probably right. They are not all loosers. And really none of them are loosers. But several of them sure are acting as such.. and many of them were kicked from IRON at one time or another.

    It's plain to see from the above that DoA wants to be lame. War is War, and as they say "All is fair in love and war". So please.. enough with the bag jumpers claim, that could not be farther from the truth, and all who know IRON know this to be true.

     

    DoA is obviously trying to impune our honor. They are disgruntled loosers who have nothing better to do. The problem is that you must have honor in order to impune someone else's honor. You guys have sunk even further in my eyes now :)

     

    It truely saddens me that people choose to act so poorly. Had this been brought to IRON's attention before this post was made, the outcome would likely have been much different. As I said before, I do not condone Brein's actions, but I also can not punish him.. you guys have been begging for such treatment from IRON for quite a while now. Enjoy what you have earned!

    Well, DoA was red-tagged about a week ago by IRON due to the fact that your founding members took great pleasure in annoying our guild by trying to spawn jump Solorni. After many requests for Duece and Kidberg to leave (both of whom were once in IRON and were kicked for dis-honorable behaviour) they still continued to attempt to steel her spawns.

     

    DoA is a very dishonorable guild, and you deserve what Brein has done. That being said, I do not condone what he has done, but there will also be no action taken because of it.

     

    If you all wish to be treated with honor and respect, then you had better grow up and begin to treat others the same. This will be my one and only post on this subject, you guys are so not worth my time.
