  4. Actually, I would rather see 2 added than 30. In order to get ratios just right (for example, leather to thread for making leather gloves), sometimes I need 2, 3, or 4 of one item. The current system requires 2, 3, or 4 purchases of 1 item each.
  5. In Portland Cave at 145, 71 there is a small rock under a stone archway. The rock appears to be floating a little bit above the ground.

    What operating system and video card are you using? I run with clouds off since I get produce bizarre stripes on the ground with clouds on. Shadows I can turn on and off with no problems. I had been running with shadows off for a long time since I originally had them off when running with no HW acceleration.
  7. You might just have to ask nicely "Please don't kill my wolves" But if it's a PK area, won't the wolves attack other players? That would have the same effect.
  8. Specializations

    That's a good point though that magic (unlike the other skills) doesn't produce much in the way of cash flow for goods and services. Maybe remote heal is a saleable service, but that's about it. Maybe we need to think of more spells that would make magic use more profitable.

  10. If you are talking about these forums, I ALWAYS have to sign in twice for it to count. I have gotten in the habit of signing in twice every time.
  11. When making studded leather gloves fails due to no needle, the message says you don't have a hammer. The missing needle message flashes and is overlaid by the missing hammer message.
  12. The potion of will description on the web page still says requires 1 bone poweder but it really requires 3 bone powders. Also (not a bug, just a surprise) I found that the level requirements for some of the potions has increased. I'm pretty sure I made a potion of physique yesterday but today I wasn't high enough level Also, thanks for adding potion of combat to the web page. I don't know how long it has been there, but I just noticed it. I suspect it was just added along with the increased level requirements. Also, there is one more potion not on the web page - the potion of feasting. I never actually tried using one, but the potion lady used to sell them.

  14. New way of walking

    It is a pretty easy way to walk except that you can only see 3 or 4 steps ahead of you. That's the reason it takes so many clicks to get around.

    You have to find a player character to sell it to you or make it yourself. No shop sellls it.

From the department of "I wanna be able to make or harvest everything in the game", how about mining the gemstones (diamonds, emeralds, rubys, sapphires) which are needed for some essence making. I don't think you should be able to sit and chip away like you do for ores. How about if when walking along you see a glint of light on the cave wall or cliff face. That is where you would have to go to mine the gem. You get it and the glint disappears. You have to look elsewhere for your next glint of light. It would move around (kind of like the creature respawns). Also, from the same department, how about mining mercury ore? The ore should be cinnabar, a soft red mineral that probably could be mined like sulfur. Smelting mercury is probably easier than iron.

  19. mining gemstones

    I don't know what game "rs" is but I've never played it. This is the first multiplayer game I've played since around 1979. Preumably, mercury is smelted the same way as the other metals. Liquid mercury is already in the game to make spirit essence - you can buy it from Harvy. He also claims he wants so buy some, but as far as I know he is the only source in the game. Presumably, "1 mercury" includes whatever container you store it in. I presume to make mercury, you would mix 6 or 7 or 8 mercury ore with 3 coal to create one mercury. "For safe handling to avoid insanity, please carefully read and follow the directions on the web site."

  21. Since my attack and defense levels were the same, I didn't realize the bug was still there. Now that my attack level has exceeded my defense level, I can see that the old stats display bug is still there. The bug is in the skills section: The experience for next level of defense is wrong - it displays the experience for next attack level instead. For instance, mine says: Attack: 34/34 [431134/494378] Defense: 33/33 [423463/494378] The #exp command shows the correct values (defense next lev: 429894). Now that I have the client source code, I put some debugging statements in stats.c. The data is wrong in the array "stats" passed as a parameter to get_the_stats, so I'm pretty sure the problem is in the server code where that array is built. After a combat event causes get_partial_stat to be passed updated combat numbers, the defense next level number becomes correct and the stats dislay matches the #exp report.

    Harvy says "We are short on quartz, sulphur, and mercuriy . . . ." Mercury is misspelled.
  23. Forum Suggestion

    I bet a lot of those "guests" think they've logged in. I have to log in twice in order to be recognized. I think there may be a problem with the way the board was configured or a browser compatibility problem.
  24. I don't know how, but one day, Grim (the storage guy in Desert Pines) had a non-full health bar over his head. Since I was working on magic skill that day, I remote cured him but I don't know how he got injured.
