    I have been asked on 2 occasions for pk trainning by new players, I took them into a "safe" pk map and went through weapons/armor combinations, meds, pots, etc. They both can kick my ass now in a pk map, but I do encourage other people to take a new player and train them up a bit. Aislinn, I have a 17:00-20:00 opening this evening if you want to learn to pawnt those noobs in KF Thinking a map is safe and knowing for sure are 2 very different feelings of security. And as nice as it is to help out a noob or take them under your wing, that in no way should be considered an answer. Some people just want to play without having to worry about boosting the player base.

    One of the things I hear about a lot that seems to be a problem, from many different styles of players, is that it is very frustrating to LEARN to be good at pk because most of the time you will get smashed by a higher player while trying to learn to dis/tele/flee/not suck. This can cause frustration with the activity and cause people to simply give up and say that PK is not for them. Maybe a good way to inject a little life into PK is to provide a place for people who are new to it to safely train away from the people who are already set up. Maybe a place you can only enter if your pki is below a certain point, or some other kind of restriction like that.

    small hits to fix a bigger problem. and a fix to the small hit might be that the npc could be made to buy them back.

    I'm just telling you guys what I have been told when I've asked to change the name of an NPC already in game for various reasons. I also assumed it wouldn't be too hard to do, but I've been informed that it's something that doesn't get done. Not just my opinion, it's the word of the Lord High Commander of NPC writers. (ace)

    It can't happen. Too many other NPC scripts would be using the original name of the NPC. Someone would have to go thru not only every NPC in Arius but pretty much any NPC in game to make sure the names were changed and then someone else would have to go thru and make the actual changes. Too much potential to miss an occurrence of the original name.

    I remember the mods running the fun contests. IIRC they were able to run them because players would donate prizes. With the price of everything spiraling ever upward and the find rate of rares (seemingly) drying up, I don't think many people are finding themselves with spare anything to give as prizes. There aren't even as many player run contests anymore.

  11. New Invance Maps?

    i like the idea of more teamwork. besides the bulas and the drags, the 120-200 group has no reason to work as a team and pretty much don't. it was something i was sad to see when i moved out of the 100-120 group where you have to have at least a little teamwork.

    jousting tournaments could be an interesting way to get a little gold out of the game. 2 players pay to have a tournament, the winner gets a % of the entry fee as a prize, the rest of the entry fee poofs out of the game. Maybe there could even be 'jousting pki' and a leader board like the current pki used to (still does?) have.

    i think people would probably just have a buddy come and kill them if you get more xp for being killed.
  15. how about a daily on the same lines as the wormy trees in the former global quest? you would need to look for XX thing in/on XX item in XX map. like 'i'm looking for a certain kind of bug that lives under flower petals in Palon Vertas' or 'i'm looking for worms that can be found in the bark of certain trees in the willowvine forest. depending on what the npc asks for you could even make it specific to one skill so the XP payout makes 'sense'.

    it would be nice if it would be considered again (if possible) for just the invance map. he makes a good point about having to pull up the map to check coords being dangerous. not sure if something like that can be applied on a map by map basis tho.

    Don't want to get into a quote fest. 1- I wasn't looking for thinly veiled diplomacy, I was going for direct insult. Now I'm telling you why I disagree with your pov. accept it. 2-Practically any pro game post from you comes from directly inside someone's ass. You kiss ass. I'm not writing an epic to expound on it. 3- Xaquelina requires no exploring. You go to xxx coords, you leave. Once you've found Haidir's animal you head back to the spawn and stay there for the next 25, 26 mobs. There are tons of sub maps in game that have no daily that could be used. 4. Hunting worms was an example. This is a suggestion forum, one small 3 sentence idea could unlock a labyrinth of others in someone's imagination. Not everything needs to be discussed at length and stuffed into rigid form. Rant on saying the same things if slightly different ways if you want. I don't like doing that so I'm done. This is what I think, I purposely left the idea very vague so that it could fit into a variety of situations.

    I can't see how this really differs that much from the haidir/xacelina theme, ie look for XX thing in XX map. The only real difference in this case seems to be that you don't even have to harv/kill or achieve anything much other than search/find. Exploring is an element in just about all quests, so there seems precious little reason to make it an end in itself, especially not on a daily basis. As such, it seems little more than another means by which players who prefer certain elements of the game can avoid grind and level quickly. Surely it would be better to fill in some of the more obvious gaps in the daily quest regime, ie potioning, crafting, summoning, ranging, tailoring, magic etc ??? Could these not be structured so as they not only require/encourage/incentivise players to find things on maps, but in far more constructive and interesting ways ??? No offence, but this one seems on the level of a wandering daily dung quest No offence, *direct insult* lol That's funny because it would encourage exploring all corners of the chosen map, which is something you have windbagged about in other threads with a positive almost asskissy slant. The difference between a daily like I suggested and haidair's daily is pretty obvious and the difference between xaquilina's daily is that no one is telling you exactly which clump of flowers to go to. I see the old global has been reinstated. To do the exploring portion of that quest you need a night visor which limits the activity to players who have earned enough for one. The trees that hold the worms also seem not to be completely random so they were being found easily. Also, it is easy to miss being able to help out with the global daily, a personal explorer daily would give the benefit of being able to enjoy exploring for a reason on your own time.

    don't forget this is a daily idea, not a one time quest idea. imo dailies shouldn't take too too much time. already the 'manu' daily can take you up to an hour or two depending on the state of items in your storage. to me, it's a bit much.

    the work to enjoyment/enrichment of game ratio is huge for such a small thing. even the big shit in this game isn't that insanely minutely detailed.
