So far, cloning is a dead end, and therefore not an issue. Cells accrue damage as tissue ages, and so cloning older tissues only preserves the damages. Until they learn to repair DNA, cloning will be useless for humans. As it stands, the process for altering DNA is with viral activators. The question then, it seems, would be what do you think of tailoring viruses to play with the human genome, so that cloning may be feasable in the future? One of the benefits of repairing the DNA will be that cell damage will be reversed. That means that aging will be retarded, stopped or even reversed. This means that the base premise for so many of the objections to cloning would be moot. Cloning then becomes an issue, not of spare bodies, but of organs and tissue. Most people support having spare organs in case of injury or illness. As for biological enhancements, we have that already. No-one seems to be up in arms over pacemakers. The type of enhancements that most people associate with this are the sci-fi type cyborgs. They make me giggle. As it stands, the human body can not handle much more physical stress. Body builders run the risk of doing serious damage to themselves after a certain point. Tendons tear away from bones and joints. Bones break. Skin tears and breaks from pressure injuries. Unless a cyborg was tuned down so that the implant was only as powerful as the rest of the host body, then it would only do more damage to the host. Also consider that the implant (with what is known about the field today) is nowhere near as stable or strongly attached to the body as the original part would have been. I consider this issue as moot as well. So. My opinion on cloning and enhancement? I have no worries that this will present a threat or issue anytime in the near future. I do worry that folks playing with viruses will screw up. If they haven't already. To me this is much more relavent and insidious. Good thought provoking topic.

LOL! yes, these scamzors have been around for a while, and have recieved so much publicity that I am amazed there are people that have not heard about them. I even saw a site where A guy drew them out enough that he was able to get enough personal information from them that the authorities were able to find and prosecute them. Heh. funny that it has moved from Nigeria to Brunei.

At least one of those is a heightmap issue, where the character is standing below the level of the ground tile. Not a big deal, but kind of neat when you first find it.

If you are having trouble picking up the bag, stand on it and drop an item to open it.

We will cope. If this makes it easier for you guys to make the game and community better for us, then I am behind you 100%. I would hope that there would be a comprehensive list to guild and fan boards though, so that the community can still gather around and chew the fat, as it were. Anyways, thanks for the heads up.

Have you tried scolding them? Sometimes objects are only bad as a cry for attention. With a firm hand and some guidance, they can grow up to be good and productive objects just like the rest of them.

Easy solution: Be present with the other character, not your own. No reason to have both online if that is all you are doing.

*Dent casts ressurect* I was checking out some of my faves online, and found this site: http://www.widemouthmason.com/# Check out their WMM radio. it has a large list of their songs. My fav on that list has always been 'Smile" but there are some other really good ones. Enjoy

No. ;/ Unfortunately, the majority of the folks who continue playing the game aren't ones who played the first two games. T1/T2 only had about 2-3 curses, including Shazbot, in the V-chat menu. T:V has like..a bunch. Shazbot is just some random freaky word to these CS, HL and UT froobs. :S I rarely see anyone, aside myself, yelling "Shazbot!" after every death. Does anyone remember the tv series that introduced Shazbot? No? Go ask your parents. or grandparents. nanu nanu

lmao @ sul-fur From the dreaded Sul, a swamp dwelling giant creature of the rodent family known for its viciousness in defending methane deposits, and it's distinctive call - burrrrp! -
Sorry to jump into this topic so late, but I had a thought while reading it: Could you make the chat window a dropdown across the top of the screen that looks like the side and bottom borders? (the brown borders that hold the icons and quick-use slots) At the very top, you could have channel tabs, and an inch or so of text area. then, you could hve scroll arrows on the side, and an option to drag the window down a bit more for more viewable lines. The tabs for the channels would control which one you were talking or sending commands to. Click on one blank tab (of maybe 3) and type in #jc 3 to assign the market channel. Same with the others, be it 1, 2, or more. You could use the mouse to drag the bottom of the window up or down, depending on if you are playing or socializing more, as well as using the scroll arrows. F1 should still work the same. Any thoughts?

Hehe, my first posts were trying to figure out why I couldn't play from Bell South. After that was sorted out, my REAL first post was here: http://www.eternal-lands.com/forum/index.p...opic=9539&st=60 The damned thing is longer than all the rest of my posts put together  it is interesting to look back

i used photoshop to get the maps all together in the right file format, then paint shop pro to convert them to the readable size. Not magic, but a bit of playing around. Took 2 days from start to finish to get a map of TG done.

Sounds fun. im in.

If you havent got it already, the TG map is available. TG Map Link Feel free to post it.
