  2. Openal Problems

Seems to have worked..no dependency errors so I am going to try this install again. Thanks everyone also
  3. Openal Problems

theres /usr/src/rpm/rpms which contains the dirs athlon, i386, i486, i586, i686, k6, and noarch When I open any of these they are empty. I'm using Mandrakelinux 10.1
  4. Openal Problems

I downloaded the IA32 one. When I installed I get: ERROR Unable to find the kernel source tree for currently running kernel. Please make sure you have installed the kernel source files for your kernel; on Red Hat Linux systems, for example, be sure you have the kernel-source rpm installed. If you know the correct kernel source files are installed, you may specify the kernel source path with the '--kernel-source-path' commandline option.
  5. Openal Problems

OK another question. For the drivers it says IA32 and IA64, both linux. Theres an AMD64 to so I'm thinking this has something to do with my processor or is that for the chipset?
  6. Openal Problems

Great it works. Thanks guys. I think I'm going to like linux, at least I know what my computer is doing. Now to get the driver for my gcard...I'm at 0 fps
  7. Openal Problems

oops forgot the ldconfig one min then...
  8. Openal Problems

K I editted it but when I try to open el I get the same error message (first one)
  9. Openal Problems

Getting this... "ld.so.conf" "ld.so.conf" E212: Can't open file for writing Hit ENTER or type command to continue
  10. Openal Problems

    Ok i used the recover thing and got it back..edited and pressed esc then enter then :x and now I have this include ld.so.conf.d/*.conf /usr/X11R6/lib /usr/lib/qt3/lib /usr/local/lib ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ E45: 'readonly' option is set (add ! to override) 4,14 All
  11. Openal Problems

Well in my panic when this happened I closed the terminal..now I'm getting this when I try to edit it E325: ATTENTION Found a swap file by the name ".ld.so.conf.swp" owned by: root dated: Mon Oct 25 06:25:06 2004 file name: /etc/ld.so.conf modified: YES user name: root host name: localhost process ID: 4514 While opening file "ld.so.conf" dated: Sat Oct 23 21:49:41 2004 (1) Another program may be editing the same file. If this is the case, be careful not to end up with two different instances of the same file when making changes. Quit, or continue with caution. (2) An edit session for this file crashed. If this is the case, use ":recover" or "vim -r ld.so.conf" to recover the changes (see ":help recovery"). If you did this already, delete the swap file ".ld.so.conf.swp" to avoid this message. Swap file ".ld.so.conf.swp" already exists!
  12. Openal Problems

O shit..I got into that editor, tried to type something and half of it vanished edit: forgot to press i
  13. Openal Problems

How do I open it from the terminal?
  14. Openal Problems

Yes, I moved it back. The file ld.so.conf says its read only when I open it in a text editor though...
  15. Openal Problems

    It is a read only..
  16. Openal Problems

Ok I'm gunna put it back and listen to you
  17. Openal Problems

    [root@localhost lib]# ls -l libopenal* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 830462 Oct 25 03:13 libopenal.a* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 33 Oct 25 03:13 libopenal.so -> /usr/local/lib/libopenal.so.0.0.7* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 33 Oct 25 03:13 libopenal.so.0 -> /usr/local/lib/libopenal.so.0.0.7* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 543858 Oct 25 03:13 libopenal.so.0.0.7* At least I know it exists now Would I just move these to /lib then? [EDIT] Moved it to /lib and it works now 0 fps though...I'm going to get a driver for my vid card (read chatters post and glad I have an NVIDIA)

    Turn up your gamma
  19. In Response To Ents Post

As I said in my reply in Ents post, It is your (ents) game. There's a lot of people whos lives (including mine) revolve around this game. For the people who don't accept the change: The game is BETA, change is a part of further developing the game and has to happen. Whether you like it or not, it is a priviledge, not a right that you are able to play this game for FREE. People are taking for granted what they have been GIVEN. Ent, just reconsider. Take the time off or leave if that is what you want to do. I just thank you [and others] for this game and wish you the best of luck for whatever you choose to do. [EDIT] I know I have more to say, just don't know how to put it. Oh yea, and for any one whos thinking about bitching about anything....just stop and stfu before you cause more trouble. <_<
  20. In Response To Ents Post

    Flogging? But yea point taken...
  21. In Response To Ents Post

True, probably about a good half the population of EL would be gone, but I wonder to myself would it be any Big loss? Hmm... Nope Not in my oppion Not in mine either
  22. In Response To Ents Post

Neoses that is a very radical yet logical solution. Anyone who bitches about changes like the harvesting should not have the priviledge to play such a great game.
  23. Screw You Guys, I'm Going Home!

Umm Ent. Fuck them. It's your game and if you want to make changes and some ungrateful people can't deal with it they don't deserve to play. I for one believe this game will fall apart w/o you. Just stay please
  24. Im Sick Of This

You don't just get banned for no reason. I don't understand why people that have been banned are always so mad. There's a reason why it happened, just ask nicely and I'm sure the response would be much better.
  25. Im Looking For A New Guild :|
