  1. :P i dislike it, magic may be the only defense to a mixer that's there naked as go to kill them while for pki or there product while your all spiffed out. I'm sure a mage with his gear doesn't want to die to your build either. or is it the surprise of a mage attack when you were planing on killing them as there naked what worries ya'll? Leave the map be and take the gamble. or change it and remove bricks from the game. no engie? that may be a rangers line of defense...... Or what about engie traps set permanently until they are tripped.

Thats not fair you worked hard on your build and killed meh!! We have to get that changed so I don't die anymore without having to use my 3 brain cells** to think of a work around tactic against it , Enough with the whining about a flaw when one build is matched against another. heck why not then make all attributes restricted and lowered to 4 and watch all die from the creatures on the map, and as for no invisibility, if your that worried place down an invisibility removal ward, or wait that's an engie item, so if you can't use that and say rationality is canceled, then heck go out as a group all invisible and all harm him at same time. Sad that you already know what magic protection one has cast by looking at the icons above the head, the fun of that was wasting your ethereal trying to cast on someone who had magic immune on. taking all the fun of tactics out of the game. no aha's any more. :)

Honestly pathetic that there be any question about about modifying builds or maps, to each there own and no one build should be the flawless or rule them all. Pro's and cons are a fact of life and allows one build to beat another by using the smarts and tactics. heck a naked player, MM caped player passing through a pk map to complete a quest, or harvester dying should be a suicide bomb and instantly kill the geared up player that attack a defenseless foe. imo any player build should be able to kill another if they play there skills, tactics, ingenuity, and know how to utilize, heck even an unstoppable death move should have some way some how to be countered. So then it would come to the strategical group effort to watch each others backs and and win the battle.

    ;)

**cause 2 brain cells fighting and the third is wondering around lost up there.

  2. I like the idea of the mask,

I also was wondering about a possible face slot, could also use a night visor in that slot

I also wanted to suggest may be an alternate weapon slots to possible use with a keyboard shortcut to switch between say bow and arrow, and sword and sheild

  3. Well, thank you for explanation.

fyi i have a radeon hd 3870, constantlay crashes el with updated drivers for past 8+ months. I said screw it and revirted back to the install disc i originally had, driver version 6.14 -2007 yeah theres a glitch in the water reflections but at least it doesn't crash any more every 30- min, well no crashing at all

  4. The ideas are good. But I think that they will just create more hording of material.

my reasons are cause I'm just starting to get in the manu skill. I make items as needed or if I level the skill and make 2-3 new items i can make for myself.

Otherwize, I hold onto the items for special days like recycling, or make rare days.

In my opinion, if an item becomes unharvestable, well I just gather the other ingredients for the week until they become harvestable again, it will just set me a higher goal of the ingredients i couldn't get for next week. So I guess now the situation made me start hording the ingredients. ( cause I'm not paying no higher price, I refuse to buy goods at a higher price than normal Instead I'll just go get it myself.)

I myself get and make goods as I need them for which ever I do, I can wait, I start to hord sulfur when efe are set to 0. there are many things i can do or gather as I wait for the week to pass. Although for new people this may stray them away from the game. I'm addicted, I'm also rounded to the point of where i can deal if there is a change. But If i couldn't harvest my goods especially if i have 0 gc as a noob i say screw this I can't fight my wolfs without being able to make my he's to cast heal because i can't harvest silver, let me see what other games are out there since I'm at a stand still.

If you fell someone is hording, why not just pm them to ask why, and if their reason isn't good enough for teh G0d, then give them a time limit to reduce the amount or it will disappear.

Either way I'm down with the idea, just care for the the newly starting noobs, they are soo limited on what they can do in the beginning.

  5. Contact your new ISP and ask them if they're blocking port 2000.

I guess that's the problem since you're able to log on to the test server which is on port 2001.

    Thanks Gampa for the imput,

I have done that and am currently awaiting to hear from their tech support. They open Monday 9am PST

I thought EL main game could run on 2000 or 2001 set in the .ini

I also can connect to the pk server, what port is the pk server running off of?

It could also be something like your personal firewall or router blocking 2000 as well. Although, I doubt this as Aislinn seems to say you DO connect (albeit briefly)

Are you running any firewall programs? (they might be blocking inward traffic, but not outward, hence you are able to connect *shrugs*)

    S.

    Thanks for the suggestion Spleenie,

Already Insured the firewall was set to allow the ports, Plus EL played when I had 1.6 running fine.

I Did also Attempt to to connect to the main server with both firewall and antivirus disabled.

  6. This one is weird, I have a new wireless broadband ISP. I can connect on the test server and do everything, But I am unable to connect on the main server.

    My Ip isn't banned and this is what Aislinn states he sees;

    Nope, not banned.

Logs show you did connect from that range but were immediately disconnected. I have no idea why though.

You might want to check your EL error logs, and post your system specs

Also you might want to try to edit your EL.ini first, or in the options window before you try to connect and set it to poorman and try that first.

    Everytime I try to connect all I get is;

    Connecting to Server...

    Disconnected from server!

Press Alt-x to close the game

    Any Ideas?

I also tried without both firewall and antivirus, had to try and it was also a suggestion from The_Piper just to see if it was an issue. But if it was an issue I think I would have the same issue with the test server. Also I tried poor man and all graphics enabled. on the test server all works with graphics fully enabled.

I can also see the players on line page without no problem

  7. Thank you for checking Aislinn, I just wanted to check because someone told me I may have to be white listed. Same issue under poorman, I'll post specs and logs.

I believe its an issue on my wireless ISP side at this point. But since it's not An ip ban issue I'll post any further inquiries under the Help Me topic.

  8. I am using a wireless broadband and would like to inquire if the ip address is blocked. The range of ip addresses for my isp are 8.7.68.0 - 8.7.71.255. Are these addresses allowed in EL?

I can connect at school and was on last night, but came home and updated the client and graphics driver and found I cannot connect.

I can also view the players on line page.

Thank you for your time and assistance

  9. I like to say ty for this patch

Yes theres a frame rate drop,

But my system no longer crashes.

Also the patchy character and creature issue was fixed by turning the option of

    #use_animation_program= 0

Ty very much for both and keep up the good work

  10. Still get patchy characters when render fog is enabled, only issues I found.

Quick question, Will the fog have an effect on perception for ranged weapons when attempting to shoot creatures and characters?

  11. It seems to work fine until i go full screen then crash. Wondering if all these crashes are ppl who use full screen as a default.

    Just a thought.

if you change the full screen option in your el.ini and start the game in full screen it will not crash in full screen.

    I get a uvp 1

and just patchy characters/animals when render fog is selected
