My sister told me earlier that people were calling her and asking for "Ashley," and when she would state that she was not Ashley and that there was no Ashley in this residence, they would insist that she was her. She just hung up on them thinking that it was a prank call. They called four times and my sister answered each time before I took the phone upstairs with me so that I could answer it, and I got an interesting call. (I left the last names out, but Ashley and I have the same last name.)
"Hello, is this Ashley?"
"Why, yes it is."
-Pause-
"Well Ashley, why haven't you been answering your cell phone? I've been trying to call it."
"I'm sorry; I turned it off."
(In the background) "She turned it off."
-Pause-
"Are you really Ashley?"
"No, no I'm not."
"Don't lie! You're in my seventh period and I've heard your voice. You're Ashley."
"Okay, then I'm Ashley."
"I know you're Ashley because somebody gave me your phone number."
"I think you're on crack, because I'm really not Ashley."
"Then who are you?"
"I am Anastasia."
"I know you're Ashley because you're in my seventh period!"
"Who do you have seventh period?"
"Mrs. Lashley."
"I have Mrs. Horton for chemistry seventh period. I don't even have Mrs. Lashley as a teacher."
"Oh."
-Long pause-
"Well, I know you're Ashley, so, don't smeging mess with my sister, bitch."
And she hangs up...
Five minutes later the phone rings...
"Yes?"
"Ohmigosh I'm so sorry! You're really not Ashley. I feel so bad."
"It's okay."
"Oh, I feel so bad, I said all those mean things to you."
"It's fine."
"Oh, and we were harassing you for, like, the past hour."
"Actually, most of that was my little sister that you were talking to."
"Oh, well, tell your sister we're sorry."
"Okay."
"Do you know my sister, Krista...?"
"Who?"
A squeal is heard in the background, and they hang up.
I looked up the sister in last year's yearbook (I did manage to hear the last name). Apparently, she was on the dance team last year, and this year she's in the 11th grade. Ashley wasn't in the yearbook, but I think that she's a sophomore in my SOAR class (homeroom). Perhaps I'll stop by my SOAR teacher's room tomorrow and see. I think that Thursday I may make a detour to Mrs. Lashley's 7th period class and see if Ashley and Krista are getting along any better.
