I also tested and it's not working..
-
I fixed about eight bugs +/- and commited the patch. Enjoy.
-
If there aren't any bugs, I'll commit it in a few days.
-
It can be, but I would prefer not to. An option to show a line in the console is just stupid.
-
I like the line. It separates input and output, and designates the area where you can click with the mouse (the widget is clickable in console).
-
I've redesigned the patch. Now it's using only one widget that gets moved around when needed. Please test.
-
Can you make the patch using diff -Nru (or cvs diff -Nu)?

Changing Loading Time for ActorsActor loading on startup

Because a) if the filename is longer than 255 bytes you'll have a problem, and if the filename is very short, you'll waste over 200 bytes. -

Isn't it possible to dynamically allocate memory for the filename? -
Commited.

Can't the server just send two health-change-packets for changes > 127?

Commited.

This requires serverside programming, which therefore requires access to the server code which is, closed source

Broken spells are removeable in the next client release.

Updated the patch, most issues should be fixed now.

Compile latest CVS and disable compiled vertex arrays in the config window.

Can you make a define for that -40 constant for easier maintenance?

Like a fullscreen help window with the character creation in the background?

The medieval style with spaceships and hyperspace bags?

Placid: You pushed me into making this patch. Isn't that enough? Instead of an icon, how about making the input cursor flash (like they usually do) when the mouse is in the widget?
-
Updated the patch. Please report any bugs you find when using it.
-
You mean like in the screenshots? Edit: Ah, I see what you mean. You want something to show that the input cursor can be moved, right? If that's the case, then I think a small pencil icon that will be shown in the bottom left corner when the mouse is over the widget would look nice.

Maybe, we'll see. That's already in the client. Up/down arrows when the first input character is a # (only for commands, because of spam-abilities, like you said).
