    Solved my issues with the sky at night (i had NEW_ALPHA enabled). @Roja: Carmen Manor dungeon has sky with clouds, i guess it is map related.

    awesome! only thing is i get this weird textured sky when it rains...am i missing a texture? (no msgs in error log tough). about tiles extension: some maps look ugly (check naralik), probably all border tiles need to be extended even if not water.

    Great job!! my horrible skydisk can be removed now and hopefully SKY_FPV_CURSOR can go in the update (hint, hint ). Maybe we need to clean the Sky&Cam a bit, removing options like horizon_fog, show sun & moon, and enabling them by default.
  9. Increase the gc Cyclops drop

    I trained 2048 cycs from a/d 67/67 to low 80's (say 83). On average with 66 restores i could train for 1 hour and half, making 280-350xp/hour (factoring astro, multi...) in full tit+CoL+NMT. I broke a CoL, a MoL (stupid me), countless meds, degraded (and repaired) 4 tit shields, 1 cuisses and a CoL, lost 2 rosto. (on the other hand 1k fluffies have already eaten 3 tit greaves...) And yes drops were ridicolous (never see anything over 35gc iirc), few tilongs, not even a serp stone if they still drop. I had the luck of having 3 "rare" books (tit short of thermal) soon after they were introduced, so i made some money out of them repaying the CoL. As for increasing drops, I'm not sure. To me cycs have been a sort of feros with very good xp (better than ogres I think), fast leveling, high emu for my other skills. Add in free multiple spawns and the risk of breaking armor (actually degrading it, which is different)...quite balanced no? However i see your point, but i tend to agree with Erma...you are getting tons of exp while fighting and since a/d in the 90's is quite easy to reach, adding a source of money at those levels isnt a good thing.

    Also you can use: alt+f to go first person alt+g to grab the mouse (and turn the character where the camera is facing) alt+k for complete freedom camera You need few additional graphic files to see a properly drawn sky. Do a forum search with "skybox" and see if you can find those files.
  11. Can't select s**t bug

    I cant click on actors and I can click on me. Sometimes i can click on NPCs or on a player (it seems random, i cant reproduce it) but if that happens i cant click on me. Numbers of actors i can interact with seems limited to 1. Cant click on monsters or animals. Latest cvs, PPC mac, UVP 0 with shaders dir renamed. EDIT: no problems with the harvestables i tried

    Forget about my last post... Here is a very experimental and orrible code to solve the map edge issues (if clicking the link doesnt work, copy&paste it in the navbar). It draws a "circle" around the map with the colors of the sky blending to the fog color...horizon_fog (sky&cam tab) should be always enabled or it looks very ugly. With render_fog on (details tab) it looks better even if on my machine fog is a bit buggy. I sent the code to Roja too, and if she says the result is acceptable i'll continue with some minor related issues. couple of screenshots with fog and without. As you can see there are transparent non-water tiles to deal with (minor issues i was talking about). Let me know what you think.

    using 32 bpp. NPCs are clickable, mobs no. OpenGL Version: 1.3 ATI-1.4.18 (PPC Mac) infos.log: Max bones per mesh: 71 This is because with .vert files it doesnt work, so i renamed the directory: [21:39:04] EXTENDED EXCEPTION(1:file_not_found): Can't find file shaders/anim.vert in el_file at /Volumes/Home/esperimenti/elx/elc/macosx/../io/elfile.cpp (line 179) Only bug i have is the selection one, the rest is fine.

    on the map edges again: i coded a few solutions and they all look bad: - black plane around map (ugly) - water tiles all around (ugly on maps with terrain borders...) - plane coloured like the sky (mmm...) before trying something more complex, cant we simply remove the lower sky? Afaik it is there to have water reflections (actually i can try it only with trasparent water tiles since i dont have water shader support), but since non frame buffer reflections will be removed...can we avoid to draw it?

    mmm...good for training, bad for pking. I guess enlarging the radius in the distance check is the best solution, so we can retain the old mapwalking behaviour and still have the benefits of the patch.

    compiled latest cvs again: - still weird graphics with .vert - selection bug is here again both for NPC, players and monsters (was corrected for NPC between RC4 and RC5) - if i disable animation program, selection bug is there but only for players and monsters.
