  1. Judging The Contest

Alderan, sorry, they will be entered as soon as i get to a computer where i can do this. Been a busy last 2 days . I will set up the threads on judging as soon as i can as well. Should be about 2-4 hours. Also, Roja, there originally was a week set aside for judging, but i can make it longer if you need the time. Hope to get to a computer that's more usable soon!
  2. Groedius Made Pkable

Just a disgruntled newb that pissed off the wrong guy. LOL Have fun in hell!

Many Member Organization Really Playing a Game Or, In Grum's Case... Massively Mutated Organism Randomly Perpetuated by the Government
  4. Test

Nope, not yet... Roja, when you get the chance sometime soon, could you make it so i can set (and see) invisible topics? Going to need it for the start of judging tomorrow... Speaking of judging tomorrow...A problem has arisen. 12 people now have poems...still 9 people with short stories. How in the world do i make the public voting work? I'm thinking having 2 separate voting threads for authors, with the preferential work in a follow up post. Only those that post with the title they liked best will be counted. Then a percentage will be taken from ALL votes in the threads. BUT that also creates the problem that there will be now 3 poll threads now that will be sticky for a week. Any suggestions?
  5. He's Just A Noob (song)

Oh did he leave? If he did, i can remove from the list of entries.
  6. He's In His Happy Place

Yeah, ok it's not my baby. But he was thinking it...i just know it.
  7. He's In His Happy Place

Korhil...that's not funny! Think of the little girl who just lost her baby doll. She's going to be scarred for life! In fact my son was mortified by it. Heres how he responded, i don't think he'll ever be the same... Sorry its so small, but i think it's clickable
  8. Judging The Contest

Indeed, since Mr. Grum isn't actually a player, but a bot controlled by the Government!!! I'll keep your name off the list, then, unless i absolutely need you.
  9. Judging The Contest

Indeed, this option is not based on the judges personal liking to the person. In fact, I am asking that judges remain as impartial as they can and not let their opinion of the author reflect on their opinion of the individual work. I agree with you, Jez, and i believe we have a system set up to reflect both what the players want and what the developers/people with more intimate knowledge of the Storylines efforts are looking for. We are going to be holding 2 separate votings. One will be for the general public to express their likes and dislikes, and the other will before those who have more intimate knowledge of SL endeavors to cast thier opinion. There will be a 50/50 split in voting. The judges decision marks coupled with the percentage of those who voted in general vote will determine the winner. Thus both sides are represented. As far as the rewards and prizes are concerned. In actuality, no one is a loser in this contest. As it requires quite a bit of time and effort to write, i decided that it would be best to come up with great prizes for everyone. On top of the prizes listed Here, I have a magic sword, Rostogal Stones, and more EFEs coming from the developement team. The Top prizes go to those who "Win". However, i can promise a great prize to everyone who entered.
  10. Judging The Contest

As i have it, The judges currently are: Roja Aisllinn Lord_Vermor Quinticus EQW222 However, i have had personal contact with each contestant. I have also accepted donations from a few as well. So i would like to remove myself from this list to ensure impartiality. Also Lyanna is overworked as it is, she would like to be removed as well. I would like to fill her position first as to keep things light for her. If there are any volunteers that have not made any entries, please let me know on this thread or by way of forum PM. Barring any last minute entries by new people, i have 9 people who wrote stories and 10 people who wrote poems. So, this is still within the restrictions of 10 options per poll if i am correct. So what i will do is have 2 separate polls for Poems/Songs and Short Stories in the public voting. As far as the judges, i will use Lyanna's instructions as to the best way to go about it by the mark system. I've tried to get in touch with Grum in game, he's in my guild and i still can't get a hold of him. poor busy guy. But any volunteers having not posted entries are most certainly welcome. Also has the invisible thing been squared away? I'm just wondering if i can set things as invisible and see them now.

  14. He's In His Happy Place

Do you really think the baby could comprehend the position that it was in? Have you ever dealt with a child less than 6 months old? The poor little sucker probably was hungry, or cold, or JUST upset. Babies get that way! The baby will never remember that it was in an oven, IT DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT AN OVEN IS! How would i know? I have a 6 month old baby boy right now. Chances are, if i put him in a microwave or unheated oven (that was cleaned properly) he'd have himself a ball exploring. 3 months ago he'd have done the same thing as the baby in the picture, cry or just sit there. That's what they do. My point is...Was the baby harmed in the picture? Not that i can tell. So in someways it was kind of amusing. Do not go around telling people to grow up because they have a sense of humor that differs from yours. I'm 21, i have a baby. I cherish him more than you could ever know. Yet i found the picture somewhat amusing. Should i grow up and hire a PR manager as well? If you have a problem with it, express it, but do not tell anyone that they should grow up and "Hire a PR manager" simply because you are sensitive about picture that portrays a baby in a situation it wasn't really in. Take as much offense as you like, but please understand that those who believe the child was in no danger could find this picture amusing. Oft times babies cry for some funny things. My baby is VERY afraid of my brother. Not because he's ugly () but because he has a deeper voice. The first time my son could recognize my brother's voice he started bawling. It was one of the most hilarious things i've seen in my life. But i also felt sorry for him because of his fear. I could relate to his fear, and thus i found it funny. Should i grow up? Nah...i think i've done a damn good job of it already. Try to find someone who's 21, V.P. of the family business, goes to school, is active in the chamber of commerce, is married, and still has time for his baby. They are few and far between
  15. Judging The Contest

Great idea CK! i'll keep that in mind thursday when i'm stumbling through the set up process.
  16. Judging The Contest

Ok thanks lyanna for setting visable. I believe roja's working on getting me up to par on seeing invisable topics. Your ideas on the judging system work very well. The mark system is very good, i'll use that. I was thinking the exact same for the public voting. My conundrum comes into where to place the voting thread. Since it is storylines i'm inclined to have the thread here. However, it is also an event and can be place in the events thread which has more posts which leads me to think that more people will participate. Yet, anyone that reads the storylines forum is more inclined to have better knowledge of such things. What's your take on it? Also i'm all for the constellations/suns thing. Sounds like a good time. I can also help as much as i can in transferring things into XML, ttlanhil i think can help with this as well. I'll talk to him about it. I'll do everything i can to help out in the storylines issues as i can. So worry as little as possible on those things.
  17. the war of the valley

yes it has been entered. best of luck!
  18. What Of The Foxes

sorry sirrobbin, typically i do not read message boards on the weekend. Please forgive. It's not quite long enough. 2 lines short. 15 line minimum was the status quo, but i changed it to 14 today as i learned sonnets tend to be 14 lines. You still have 3 days to edit!
  19. Storylines Contest

I'm not all that knowledgeable about poems and songs, to tell the truth. I only write short stories myself. I can kick it back to a 14 line requirement, though its a little late for it.
  20. the war of the valley

already done, thank you for your entry!
  21. Storylines Contest

Ok i'll take a gander at it and enter it! Thanks CK
  22. the war of the valley

Looks great, i will enter it into the contest now. Thank you so much for finishing it.
  23. Map Edges

Do house insides apply to the same rule when it comes to map edges? I'm making a guild map, part of that map is dedicated to the insides of a guild house. In MAKING the house i accidently came close to the map edge. I do not want to have to redo all the work i just did. Do house insides still have to be a distance from map edges?
  24. Mothernature
