I can get to the character creation map but after creating a character I can't connect.
Start Menu > Run > Type in "dxdiag" without quoatation marks > go to Display, works on Vista if i remember correctly.

I had the same problem with Vista, it was because of my video card. I had to upgrade it first. I was able to log in but my screen went black and I couldn't play, since I upgraded my video card it runs good
What's your video card?

Oh I'd say it's been a year or so, maybe a bit longer. I remember resetting my character after a huge crash a while back. I'm looking at the current 007's stats and they are exactly as I remember them being.
I think the problem is a lack of server connection. I'm using Vista, does that change anything?

Heya
It's been quite some time since I played EL. I'd like to get back in the game and see some old friends (if they're still here) so I downloaded the game; I get to the login screen but cannot log in. I know that I remember my password and everything correctly..There must be something I'm doing wrong/not doing with regards to connecting to the server. Is there something more that I needed to do after installing the latest version of the game?

Ok I got it to work. Not sure what the problem was, but I redownloaded and reinstalled and everything a few times and now it's running smoothly.

I downloaded the whole game w/ update and everything. I'll log on and then get disconnected within 5 seconds. I recall this happening in the past but I don't recall what I did to get the game to work.

Please allow me to shed some light
The AFK King title is one that can not be obtained through a simple following of groupies who enjoy watching you go AFK. It is a title which can only be given by one of the following EL heroes: the great Tumaros, the 1337 matrixx, the talkative sirdan, the humble TirasHazor, or the ...something....Mikeh. Feel free to come up with creative titles for yourself such as "AFK Man" or "AFK Queen" or "AFK God". But "AFK King" is not something to be thrown around as often as it is. Do not disrespect the title. As current (until I die) AFK King I forbid you.

Okay I have something that REALLY irks me that I feel like I need to share. Please take the time to read through it
My older brother is an asshole. He's visiting from college which you would think should be a joyous occasion, and sure it's fun to have him around, but he just ruins the happiness of the household sometimes. Big example of this, about 10 minutes ago:
He's sitting in front of the TV w/ his laptop listening to music and my younger brother and his friend are in there too. So I pick up my little brother's acoustic guitar and just hold it.
Then my brother turns on the song "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC. I think to myself "hey i can play this". So I play the full intro. And my brother says "See John, you'll just never be as good as Agnus." I'm like WTF IS YOUR PROBLEM!?
first of all, I'm playing on a freaking low quality acoustic. If you know anything about guitars, you know that AC/DC uses ELECTRIC guitars. It's hard, expecially on Thunderstruck (which uses entirely hammer ons and pull offs <for the guitarists reading this), to make an acoustic sound like an electric sounds.
Second, he's my effing brother. Even if I sound like crap (which I didn't) the least he can say is "hey John that sounds great" or "you've gotten so much better since the last time I saw you"
but no. He has to be an asshole. I guess, though, I can use his lack of interest and faith in my guitar playing as motivation to do better and prove him wrong. or something. whatever. i'm pissed off right now.

Hah okay I wrote this earlier this schoolyear. Basically, I go to a very good highschool and my physics teacher is a horrible horrible teacher. She just happens to be the wife of an assistant principal so she gets to teach if she wants, and unfortunately I got her class.
