I remember the mods running the fun contests. IIRC they were able to run them because players would donate prizes. With the price of everything spiraling ever upward and the find rate of rares (seemingly) drying up, I don't think many people are finding themselves with spare anything to give as prizes. There aren't even as many player run contests anymore.
Personally, that matches my experience. Only 1 (one) player has donated prizes for contests in the last few months, and my ability to draw from my own storage is limited since I can play only a little at night - the times of full-day harvesting are gone.
So, indeed... yes, with higher prices and less donations (and the usual lot of complaints), running contests has become more difficult, and also less rewarding. Still, we do have contests from time to time - just stay tuned!

It is very unfortunate that people at times commit mistakes whose consequences are not easily undone. Such is however your case.
I must admit that it is more difficult for me to believe it was a honest mistake, given that you had a "preparatory" mischannel just two minutes before. Curiously, you had a similar one on the 25th of February. And you seem to have a much higher mischannel rate when posting or discussing gay porn, while I have never seen a mischannel from you that was to your disadvantage. Not to mention that you have a history of being muted and such for foul language. So, you see, overall I would incline more towards thinking that it was intentional.
As for the length of the ban: I am honestly in doubt. Let us assume for a moment that it was a honest mistake, and that you and MALixz had a genuine interest in exchanging gay porn pictures among yourselves (and possibly with other =HC= guildies) as a way to get some sexual excitement. In this case, the ban would cover only the mischannel, and could be relatively short.
If, on the other hand, you and MALixz are straight, and you exchange gay porn because you find gay porn funny, and possibly would disparage gays, then I should consider that an additional violation of Rule 3 (which explicitly states "Do not advocate, start or participate in any discussions that are [...] anti-gay [...] or anything that is sexually explicit in public"). In that case, the ban should probably be longer.
Maybe you can help me by clarifying whether you and MALixz fall in the first or the second case above? I will wait for your answer before deciding a term for the ban.
I think that in this case I would also accept a post by Scarr, as the GM of =HC=, stating whether it is common to watch gay porn pictures in the =HC= #GM, or not.

That's none of your business. Don't even try to distract attention from your specific case.
Having said that, keep in mind that I have absolutely nothing personal against you; actually all our previous dealings were pretty nice, and I recognize you have been civil and helpful whenever the occasion arose. Nevertheless, if it was a real phail, you phailed big time. The link was disgusting enough that it could not go unnoticed regardless of whether the mischannel was intentional or not.

Someone must have kicked TrinityBot awake as it's working again. Perhaps make the change anyway so there's a failover bot for the app to use?

The aim for next version is to additionally alert about invances, recognize day removals, etc. -- but it will need to use a totally different technique, so it will take some testing... Stay tuned!

Sorry about that, but indeed, Trinitybot has not been updating for a few days now. Not much we can do about that, but if the outage lasts longer, I will implement similar functionality in one of my bots (Rraisa, probably) and upload a new version of the widget working on that.

It seems like your download is being corrupted or truncated. Have you tried using a "download manager", i.e. one of those programs that know how to resume an interrupted download, instead of directly downloading the file from your browser?

Second part of the contest!
Second contest: explorers
Mechanism. The goal this time is to find 11 Monuments (these are automated bots, purple names, named Monument_1 to Monument_11). Each Monument holds a single word which is part of a riddle. You have to find as many Monuments as you can, sort all the hints and figure out the riddle, then go to the place hinted by the riddle and recover a hyperbag.
To get a hint, you have to trade with a Monument. He will send you a PM with the hint.
Locations. The Monuments are in part in Seridia and in part in Irilion, in part inside and in part outside, in part in secret spots and in part in public places. However, no bots are in PK maps. Don't expect them to be at populated storages either!
Prize. There will be a single prize: a full bronze set, with helm, shield, sword - donated (again!) by Kragnus.
Teamwork. Feel free to work in teams; however, the prize will be awarded to a single winner. Every "splitting" agreement is totally upon you. Caveat emptor.
Claiming. Once you have found and recovered the hyperbag, you have to post here (or alternatively, PM me if I am online) with the contents (not the position) of the bag. The exact contents are the key to claim your prize.
Coordinates. I haven't told you the coords for the bag yet, right? Well, I will not. A hint to the exact coordinates will be posted here on the new day (approximately, 1.5 hours from now).
UPDATE: The coordinates where the hyperbag is located are made entirely of the digits '4' and '5'.

After three hours of crazy riddles and running all over Draia, malameo (with help from Kricket) has found the Monuments, sorted the riddle, solved it, found the right place, puzzled together the coordinates, and finally found the "key" hyperbag!
In all, 21 players got a total of 52 hints from all 11 Monuments (all were found in the end).
The Monuments hints and locations were:

sorry for the inconvenience. Based on logs, I can confirm your afk-macro must have lasted between 10 and 30 minutes, and you contacted us just minutes after the locking, so the real absence has been relatively short. Still, it was afk-macroing beyond any doubt (for the purposes of the "radu allowance", sleeping in front of the computer counts as AFK, even if then you have ASDFGHJKL tatooed on your forefront
).I think we can solve this in fairness, with a short ban meant to make up for the xp unduly accrued. I will unban you later today (after the Robin Tell, I'm afraid) and we will forget about the misadventure.

Here we are again.
To celebrate the new year, we will have a couple of contests with significant prizes (donated by Kragnus). We will have two events, aimed at different audiences.
First contest: fighters
Are you valiant enough to challenge the nasty creatures infesting the Matajin Summoning Arena? If so, enroll by posting your name below. Each contestant will face a number of waves of increasing difficulty. The contestant that will survive longer, will get the prize. Everything goes: magic, summoning, brawling, archery... only limit is your inventory: you cannot leave the arena once the gauntlet has started. Also, you cannot get any external help during the contest.
Spectators are welcome, the arena offers a number of relatively safe seating for supporters and spectators. You can reach the seats yourself by USING the blue orbs at Tahraji Desert [255,307].
WARNING: Tahraji is a PK, no-rosto map. Spectators are advised to come "naked", or be prepared to loose what they have in inventory in case of mishaps.
Recovery policy. We will try our best to save any death bag dropped by contestants. ANY ATTEMPT AT BAGJUMPING WILL BE CONSIDERED A SERIOUS DISRUPTION OF AN OFFICIAL CONTEST and I promise a LONG, LONG ban for such a behaviour.
Prize: a full black dragon suit: greaves, cuisses, torso, helm.
Timing: we will start at 1:00 on the 26th day in the month of Nimlos, the year 0029, Age of the Eternals (i.e., 40 minutes after this post).
There will be live commentary on channel 7 (Events).
We had 8 contestants: dre, Smurf, teehee, KoDdy, duBro, busterblader, Antio, PolarStar. Of these, duBro and busterblader left before their turn. The final tally was:
dre, smurf: 6th wave completed (actually, dre went up to the 8th, but without completing the 7th)
teehee: 5th wave
KoDdy, Antio: 4th wave
PolarStar: 1st wave
A final "last man standing" broke the tie between dre and Smurf - and victory was dre's.
Congratulations to all participants, and to the well-behaved, spirited, and enthusiastic audience! Well done everyone!
Second contest: TBA
Due to the unforeseen length of the previous contest, the second one will be held at a later date (probably tomorrow). More details will follow in due time.

Hello all,
Checking the forum today, I saw that there was an EL French server (Landes Eternelles). Moreover, in Wikipedia I've also seen that there was another EL server developed by learner (Other-Life).
My question is: is possible to develop different servers (in different languages for example)? or are there some license limitations?

As far as I can tell, while the client is open-source, the server code is not. Those two offsprings were the results of specific (kind-of-commercial, I believe) agreements between the author of EL and the respective maintainers.
As for localization: client messages can be easily localized, so if your language is not supported, you might want to contact the maintainer to offer help. As for server messages, they are sent - identical - to all clients, irrespective of their native language. And indeed, ability to communicate in English is somewhat of a prerequisite to allow interaction with other players from all over the world...
Radu, Learner, Thyralax, bluap, Xaphier and possibly many others might know better

You are forgetting a few details here, or am I mistaken? Didn't I offer to teleport you away from the angered mob (that you had just bagjumped, but that's beside the point), and you refused? Didn't I tell you that radu had assessed the case, and decided that this could be considered a guild-interguild issue, and that you could solve the issue among yourselves? Didn't radu himself tell so, when he came to MM? Didn't I spend over an hour of my EL-life making sure your nice meeting would not degenerate to a flamewar in local? Didn't I remind them, multiple times, that bagjumping was not illegal? And finally, didn't I offer you in PM various suggestions on how to leave, with or without the bag, in a way that would save your dignity as a bagjumper? Did we not part on friendly terms?
And then, the first thing you do is to go and block passages at random, thus causing on purpose problems to other players that would require mod attention, for no good reason beside your desire for attention?
Finally, I just teleported you to IP, assuming that you had unwillingly gone afk in a bad spot, and that was all. It was you pointing out that you were doing this on purpose, to cause trouble.
I think I had handled the whole issue fairly for both parties, or at least tried to, to the best of my abilities. Now you are banned, and not by me. I for sure will not plead your case, already did all I could to keep this into reasonable terms.
As usual, you can discuss the case with the mod that banned you.

That would be awesome! The only problem I have with the widget now is if a day is removed, it does not change sometimes on my phone. Warnings for invasions/invances would be awesome!
Yep, I know... the widget was developed before day removal stones were introduced in the game, in fact.
I am (way) overloaded right now, but at the first opportunity I will write the bot code to catch removals, invasions, invances, and a new version of the widget to display such information. Only, I cannot schedule it right now, bear with me.

No objection on my part, but Quagmire is currently banned due to the mess you made with Radu, not because of the afk-macroing, so the final decision will be with him.

Can I ask was there a wide mix of a/d levels, all involved? or was it mainly high level a/d players with a few lower level a/d but with high ran + AP?
There were (normal) rabbits, wolves, polar bears in the beginning - but as Iscalrith has natural yetis, it was mostly aimed at rangers (from the walls) and good fighters (on the ground), plus some non-fighting scout in the end. Rangers were at times low-level, I heard a giant was killed by training arrows and persistence.

First sensible post in the series. Why are you going again over all that you have already discussed with me, then escalated with Aislinn, then escalated again with Radu, if we all said you the same things? That's a huge waste of everyone's time...
Anyway, back to business regarding the length of the ban; we have two options:
- If you did know that autoclicking in Grubani Arena was permissible, provided that you are at the PC and paying attention, then you have abused the exception, in the same way others did. Out of equity with other players that were promised by Radu a 3-days ban, yours will be 3 days as well. Let it be recorded that my own assessment would have been significantly longer than that.
- If, on the other hand, you did not know about the exception that Radu has allowed, as some of your posts and PMs seem to imply, then you violated the "no macroing" rule flat and clear, in which case the standard 1-month ban applies.
So, please post here stating which of the two cases applies to you. Counting is to start from your post declaring your decision among these two options, the period so far serving to offset the several hours of mod time that you have needlessly wasted. As I already told you in PM, since I believe your statement that you had just started afk-macroing, and thus no great damage was done, there will be no xp deduction, and all your other alts have not been locked.
On a totally unrelated matter, how I ascertained that other players were, or were not, abusing the autoclicking exception is none of your business. It is my job to decide that, not yours. If you had been there, you might have noticed (as I did) that some of the players were not actively ranging: they were afk, and not autoclicking, hence I did not request a reply from them. Others replied in PM. Others were moving around looking for a better position, or dropping bags, etc. Some player might have been using afk-autoclicking, and just by chance happened to be there at that precise moment. Others might have tricked me entirely - nobody is perfect. As for the order, I started from the rightmost player, and proceeded in counter-clockwise order, asking especially to those who had exhibited suspect behaviour. No special preference for you, sorry.
What counts here is that you were not there, as you admitted plainly in your PMs to me (and, I believe, to Aislinn as well, possibly to Radu), and that at the same time you were shooting at full rate. Everything else has been discussed at length, but given your posts above, I believe you have not read a word of all that I said to Rajun while trying to explain why Quagmire was banned, so I will not waste any more time with that.
One more thing, more personal: I find your allegations that (1) I take orders from MARVEL, and that (2) I acted on some kind of vendetta against you, both ridiculous and extremely offensive of my integrity. While I had nothing against you, as I had nothing personal against any of the players there, your behaviour in this circumstance did very little to raise your consideration in my esteem. That, of course, will in no way alter my actions in the future.

Hey guys, i'm at my place now and this computer is old, so this very well be the problems but i'd like to run it by you aswell. The problem is that i am unable to log into my character, on the log in bar, when i type a letter it will continue typing a letter, also at the loading page everything is white, i will try to re down-load but if you have had this in the past and had an easy fix, i'd greatly appreciate it. sounds like to me it's missing a file for the graphics or maybe the graphics cards are too old. Thanks.
Do you mean that, if you press the "A" key, it will type "aaaaaaaa..." in the name bar? In that case, it seems like your PC is not handling interrupts right, which makes it very improbable that the game will run at all...
I can confirm that all is fine with the Kraken character, so it seems the problem really is with that machine.

Never seen anything like it tbh... but given the appearance of your screenshots, I would try with the various options related to Vertices: Vertex Buffer Objects, Use Animation Program, Compiled Vertex Array, Draw Range Elements. Don't think other options might have an effect, unless of course it's a bug with the drivers.
