Several market channels ; searching in market
Khalai replied to test78's topic in Suggestions - General, Misc.
EL does not have so vast population to split market channel. Anyway, you can only listen to three channels at once, this would impair the interaction between people on marketing level. -
It would only apply to those who were on-line. If someone was on-line and playing and did not want to participate. I think Lexi meant, that she can't be online for the whole war thing. Some of us have to go to work/school/have lives to live

Congratz Raz! (a bit pity that our GM (Holar) didn't won it tho...)

The only problem of Life Drain is such short range of the spell (which is a problem in general with many spells), you have to stand really close to be able to cast a spell. Maybe effect of the spell could be connected to the distance of the target. The farther the target is, the less effect the spell delivers. Of course there would has to be a maximum range for spells, so you can't harm anyone across half the map, but right now, magic is very distance limited IMO.

I wonder if the damages by the gc farmers were lesser than the agonizing harvesting or large volumes of plants i.e. caused by mini-events (and don't say harvesting medallion please, ordinary plants should not require anything rather pricey to collect...)...
-
No harvesting alts will reach all over 30 on its own alone. Four skills above 100 is quite overkill IMHO.

We are not indeed, I just wanted to hear some sensible explanation, how this should work And yes, it was intentional provocation from my side, but only to achieve that this idea will be more elaborated. "This is game, not real life" will not suffice if you want e.g. nuclear arrows w/o sensible explanation, why and how it should work. I have read none in the original post, so I took a little pinch there

Well, you can't change effectiveness of AP bullets in real guns, so on what mechanism would this be based upon?

Can I haz a zoo in EL pl0x?

Isn't this the supposed skill soft-cap? Not saying it's good or bad, but still, it's some sort of deceleration of progress, after you reach certain point in fighting skill...

That's the point!

Morale is a point of everyone's perspective (whether you like it or not) Laws or rights are not, they are bound by written paragraphs and enforced by courts (whether you like it or not) Road to hell is paved with good intentions. You cannot put subjective morale above law or one's rights. Or you can, but face the consequences of breaking the law or rights then...

Precisely. He may be a cocksucker, but that does not automatically proves him wrong in the content of his findings, doesn't it? Even if the guy called you whatever, he still may have hidden some truth behind rough and immature words. Do you think, it's not at least worth to dig a bit in them? Well ent tried this to get some insight from him, and ended up hitting a wall of idiocy. Why waste effort trying to explore his findings if all you get in reply is even more stupidity? Explore the possibilities sure but after a while you have to just take a step back and say enough is enough and move onto the next persons constructive suggestions/ideas or carry on working on your own. I was speaking in general, not just in this case, when you are right. But the problem is much broader. Many people complain about several things. Whether it is good or bad is irrelevant. The problem is, they are automatically labelled as stupid, whiners, bitchers, moaners and crybabies and their opinions belittled, whether they really are just morons or are expressing some valid opinion. This has nothing to do with being teh god, mod or some newbie. Even if someone is idioitic, does it give automatically right to react in the same manner? (again, speaking in general, not in this particular manner) Should we first try to explain things politely and in neutral manner? My own opinion is, that this forum sometimes lacks politeness and professionality even from those, who should set an example and uphold these standarts. (now feel free to belittle me and such... ) (misunderstanding control: I am speaking in general, do not nitpick and assume, that I am talking about this case only or to certain people only)

I don't think that nowadays people care about what is right rather than what is legal. They are (unfortunately) two different things and whatever righteous motivation of the forum admin was, he has no right of disclosing personal info unless permitted by user himself...

Dynamic range, respective the lack of it. Human eye can perceive approx 20 EV range of colour hues, some decent DSLR with modern sensor can capture as few as 11-12 EV. If you really want capture the depth and colour, you should use HDRI or blended exposure technique. Why is it, no matter how straight forward the post, the skill of the poster or the amount of words per square whatever, no poster truly appreciates how bloody geeky the next poster can get when it comes talking about gadgets? Shame really...awe inspiring sight. Done pretty good on the jargon too, nice use of letters I dont have a snowballs chance in hell of ever wanting to hear deciphered. Guess I am getting too old to keep up with all you young uns, or maybe I should have started: "Speaking rhetorically, why is it..." *note: khalai, please dont be offended by the above, I just don't have a clue. And tbh I didnt really want one, I just wanted to show my appreciation of a bloody good sunset over the sea. None offence taken, I just wanted to tell you the answer and got carried away by my hobby Simply put - human eye is still one of the bloodiest advanced optics system ever invented And human eyes with connection to awe inspiring imagery, which raises emotions, now that's something

The only absolute safety on the internet is NOT BEING CONNECTED

So, if the inventory window wouldnt look like a window as it does right now, but would have some planks as borders and window title, with some leaves or cuddly animal pictures attached, you would be happy? Maybe even a silhouette of a person as the background for the slots with the equipment worn? Thats all, nothing more? Piper <sarcasm>Why not add a scarcely clothed anime chick to the window, while at it? </sarcasm> There is no need to be condescending really, don't patronize me please. A word "little" is quite essential. I don't get why it has to be one extreme or the other? Why do you think I'd like overdone GUI with curlies and obtrusive illustrations? Some revamping would be nice, more detailed, neat GUI, some small conveniencies like quest mark above NPC heads... Is it really too much "childish" for you?
-
Why would this necessarily trash the game? I don't find that silly at all. Nobody said, it has to be giant sparkling exclamation or question mark. But I do liked small bubbles with those when I used to play Diablo for example. A little more convenience, a little more likeable GUI and a little more "fancy stuff" couldn't possibly hurt, unless you like to play some sort of old MUD RPG game with console only... (okay I'm a bit sarcastic in here, but you get the point, right?)

I generally agree with Lorlen. Playerbase is quite small and it seems to me, that's it's continuously decreasing in the years I've stick around here. Stop playing elitism and "you're not good for this game if..." and try to expand population a bit please...

Make the "rare" bars more makeable
Khalai replied to Patriot's topic in Suggestions - General, Misc.
I beg your pardon...I didn't quite understand your post. IMO he was nitpicking and referring that you make an iron bar rather than raw ore... -
Exactly, where else would you want to buy PoFs on C2?
-
It would be nice, I agree, but it's just a short walk from (cheap) EVTR ring landing spot anyway
