Nothing, it's still up (usually). Cheap hosting = cheap service. I need to find a new ISP to host the thing for me..

Step 2) Design some good quests for patrons of the Alchemy god to perform. Step 3) Donate all your ideas to the development team and hope against hope that they like them and implement them. ... lemme share a (not so) secret with you: In the real world, people do not want you to bring your questions (read: problems) to them. To be a success, bring your question and a SOLUTION! For example, don't ask your McDonalds boss: "Like, heh heh, what do I do with this rack of frozen fries, dude?" Try this: "Hey man, what should I do with these fries? I think I should dump them in the fryer and get them ready for the drive-thru crowd. What do your think?" I think you're looking at Night Manager, at least! Promotion to the head of the McDonalds rank! W000t! Seriously, in RL, if you're going to bring a non-critical problem to your boss, you better bring a solution too. Remember that. Don't bring me problems, bring me solutions.

If this is the case, it's likely he's using something commercial - maybe somewhere he works... I doubt they'd like what he's using their hardware and bandwidth for..

I agree, he was mistreated, but that's no excuse for his actions afterwards. And like him or not, he's got to go now.

I agree. Beaming a player anywhere doesn't help if the offense is spamming. That was the wrong move, probably motivated by Learner's anger at not being listened to. Post a chat log. I'd like to see what happened.

This has nothing to do with this particular ban, but I think it should be mandatory that a chat log be posted if a person is banned for spamming, swearing, etc. Not only should "the peoples" be able to see the justification for the actions of the moderators, but it will also let players know how far they can go before being banned. And I take exception to the fact that this ban is labelled as "temporary". I've never seen any other ban labelled that way. All other bans are in place until Entropy reviews it and gives you that second (and final) chance. Next is getting special treatment because of his popularity or oldbie status. Or Learner is afraid to ban an oldbie and spark off a new round of quitting. Regardless, the rules should be applied consistently to all players. No offense intended Next, I'd say this about anyone receiving a "temp" ban.

I won't argue that "goto" statements are bad news. But I still think VB isn't necessarily a bad place to start. It's easy to use and for basic concepts learning, it's sufficient. And best of all, it's easy for a beginner to create "something" quickly. I think it's important when you're starting out that you get to see some results sooner rather than later, and see something significant.
