It works great now! I get 600-2000 FPS while zoomed in. One bunch of Rabbits and 10-12 Dragons reduces it to about 400, and viewing the whole map at once takes it down to ~200.

I get the same error as some of the others. Error log: Last couple of lines in the Debug log: Hopefully these are somewhat helpful... System stats: Ubuntu 8.10 Intel Core I7 920 Nvidia GTX 285 - Open GL Version 2.1(.2?) And as far as I know, I'm using the latest drivers. 180.11. EDIT: Sorry, the newest drivers are 180.29, released earlier this month. I'm installing them now. (P.s. Yeah, I got my new system built. )

Aphistolas, I'm currently doing the same thing as you. I decided to go next Generation and get a Core i7 920, but from everything I've ever read, the Core 2 Q6600 Quad is a really great processor... And cheap, too! For me, the case was a nearly IMPOSSIBLE decision... But I finally settled on the NZXT Zero (Or Zero 2. The NZXT guys emailed me and said it'll be available in mid-late January) I just didn't care for the looks of these insane cases, or even the Antec 900/1200 that much, but I wanted one that looked fairly nice and had lots of room and airflow. Oh, and I'd also like to HIGHLY recommend EVGA for a Graphics card. They not only make awesome products, but have GREAT customer service, and a lifetime warranty! Just my 5 1/2 cents. (Inflation + All the spam. )

The idea is very interesting, and although I didn't much care for the original idea, USL's is awesome. I was about to suggest the very same thing when I read his post. If a system like that was added, it could also be used in other creative ways. Like, entire maps could be closed off now and then, for whatever reason (Here's where the creativity comes in. Maybe for invasions/contests?). "Emerald valley has been taken with the plague, and has been closed off from the general public for 2 days". Imagine an invasion where ALL exits from Idaloran, for example, were closed off. A lot of crazy people would be begging for rings or Teleport essences to escape.

Thank you, Burfoot. It cheered me up knowing that there's still some people that look into who is going to be our next President, instead of just voting for someone because he makes them feel good. While McCain is by no means perfect, and there are things I do NOT like about him, I think this is one of the cases where the phrase "Lesser of two evils" works well, I think. By the way, did you hear about the Police storming ACORN? Apparently, they had 8,000 people signed up to vote (for Obama, of course. ) that don't exist. Interesting...

Not everyone watches TV or science fiction type stuff so I will expound here. Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are the names of two FBI agents investigating X-files. The show and movie of the same name. X-files has them looking into events that cannot be explained by normal means. A vast alien conspiracy is the underlying premise of the show and revealed in the movie. It is in syndication now as reruns. Not sure how long it has been off the air as a regular series. Tirun Oops, yeah... I forgot to mention that, thanks. I don't watch TV either, but we have the movie. Lol. That show ran for a LONG time. o.O

Vesine, the Wine NPC in MM, talks about how she and the guy are a team, "like Scully and Moulder." Only they don't investigate strange happenings.

I've used openSUSE, Sabayon, Ubuntu, and Dream Linux (As well as tested the live CDs for a dozen others). I would suggest either openSUSE or Ubuntu at the moment, but a new release of Sabayon is coming out that looks great, as long as they get the bugs worked out. Eternal lands is even in their new package manager! (Which happens to be named Entropy. ) Note: After reading what you said again, I see you have an older computer, so Sabayon is probably not the best Distro for that... It likes a lot of Ram. It can and does. Another edit: Linux Mint IS pretty good, and I see they recently came out with a new release, so that might be something to look into.

I've got Power Hungry, godless, I Can't Dance, and NMT at the moment... And Skeptic will be coming as soon as I can afford it. Lol
