Unfortunately, I have to wait to develop my SLR's film - I'm old school (read: too poor to get a DSLR ). Oh, I don't consider manufacturing as a primary way to make gc. I would just like what I do make to be useful to players' gaming. And, well, I can't make the useful stuff very quickly if I have hundreds of thousands of gc tied up in the ingredients used to make gear that will never be used. Now, if only we could put an artisan's stamp somewhere on the gear we make and track its life through the game. Anyway, thanks everyone for your input! The JS book is now read.

Depending on the creature, I don't see why it couldn't sail. Bram Stoker's "Dracula" sails quite often. My memory's a bit rusty, but I'm almost certain Frankenstein did too. Were it a winged animal, as the later discussions of dropping feathers suggest, that would eliminate this problem too. Edit: I don't see why a leopard couldn't stow away on a ship. Edit: I can't describe how excited this makes me. One of the things I miss from my early days is the thrill of escaping Bob as I ran across Portland with a load of lupines or sapphires. I can't reproduce it. Does it usually happen when you fight or watch other people fight? No, I managed to get it to happen about 8 times while sitting at Trik. Here's another bug that I haven't seen discussed, perhaps I missed it. Fortunately, it's very reproducible. After using an up or left arrow key to scroll, change perspective, etc, the client crashes when pressing the down arrow key. It doesn't happen every time, but nearly so. Oddly enough, it doesn't seem to produce a log entry. Any thoughts on that? I'm on OSX 10.4.11, 1.5ghz G4, 1.5g of ram. Everything else is stock 15" PB.

Alauda mentioned this previously (first page of thread), but I've finally got a persistent bug (on both 1.5.0.1a and , as indicated below. The crash first happened when I entered the Nordcarn storage, and is persistent every time I try to log back in (again, to the Nordcarn storage). I've tried setting poorman=1, use_point_particles=0, use_eye_candy=0, and no_sound=1, but none of these fixed it. Thoughts? Edit: The crash seems to go away if I force the client to rebuild a new ~/Library/Application Support/Eternal Lands directory. Working on isolating which file causes it. Edit: the crash seems to be caused by a setting in: ~/Library/Application Support/Eternal Lands/main/el.ini . I can provide the problematic file, or a diff between it and the dynamically generated one if it's useful.

I believe what I did was to download his first file and move what was suggested from the x86 client. I then download the second file, and put it in el_osx.app/contents/MacOS. Try this. If it doesn't work, send me a forum PM and I'll do the process over from scratch and document it more properly. Lyeowar

When harvesting at the outhouse in SRM, if I stop harvesting, or am stopped due to MN, I find that I am unable to start harvesting again. The cursor turns to the harvest icon, but when I click on the outhouse again, nothing happens. Harvesting something else, however, seems to reset it. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm using 1.4.0b on a 1.5Ghz G4 Powerbook, 64 Mb video, 512 Mb ram.

I'm a mid-level manufacturer (i.e. Serp Sword and under). I'd like to put my foot down and say that I won't be joining any cartel or strike. I believe firmly, in the game and in real life, in the benefit of a free market economy. While I realize that the game isn't like that, primarily due to NPCs (as indicated by the majority of my posts in the forums on how to modify the economy), I will not be part of the problem. Like CelticLady, I've learned that I can't sell every item for a profit. But, to me the game is about fun, and it's ridiculous the amount of joy I get when I see a serp appear in my inventory, or a beautiful set of chain armour. If I can make profit, great. Otherwise, I'll continue selling huge amounts of titanium bars and health essence to support myself. I believe that such a cartel won't work - firstly because there are too many 'rogue' manufacturers. Similarly, every player can (and many do) operate fully independently of every other player, so there's really no way to enforce participation in such an action. Furthermore, as was mentioned, it would be entirely possible for another group of players, say the pk-ers, to refuse to buy above a certain price. Then, the game becomes polarized. Do you really want that? I mean, it'll work great for me, because I'll still be selling to the pk-ers Now, I'm not saying we should sell at a loss when we can avoid it. And we definitely shouldn't maliciously undercut each other. I do my best to figure out what the market price of my ingredients are and sell for a profit above that. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. So, I'd invite anyone who's still reading this rather contentious thread to set your own prices at what you think your work is worth. Just don't try to bully anyone else into following you. And remember, it's just a game.
