  1. Yes, the proportions look more realistic to me, as Roja's links clearly show.

    Here

    Here

    And Here

All my video settings needed re-jigging to the ones I had before the update. Once I did that, I found just about every model more realistic.

I find the new fighting animations more realistic too. In many fighting arts, you widen your stance for balance, and usually do so by sliding one foot back and outwards. Nice job guys! :(

  2. I think sometimes people do take PK too seriously. This may be the depth of the game making the RP part "realistic" enough that people feel personally attacked when a PKer jumps them. Also, the guilds, economy, chatting, etc. make it more than just a game. I call it an "online community" when I describe it to non-ELers. ;)

I've participated in PK contests, and walked through KF, TD, and such on NDD. I have to admit I'm one of those people who likes to stack the odds in my favor. But then again, I've been attacked by many while training in PK maps and killed by a few too. I remember after dying to Dushan, PMing him with "Can you save my DB please? rofl!" PL and [NL] have teamed me and won. To them I say, "Gratz, good teamwork!"

I don't take it personally when I'm attacked, and don't bitch when I die. But I do keep score. :devlish: It would be nice to see more people take PK a little less seriously and just enjoy its fun.

  3. I did the same as you Aph. She seemed to be turning clockwise at first, but I could change her at will.

There are many "tests" aimed at helping us "classify" ourselves regarding how we think, work, learn, etc. I find people often take them to mean "You are this kind of person." I prefer to think of them as "You tend more towards this type, to this general degree.

A popular example is the MBPTI (Myers-Briggs Personality Type Inidicators). I've heard people say, "I'm an INFJ, so I could never work with and ESTP!" To this I say "Chill dudes and dudettes. It doesn't mean you won't understand each other. It just means you may approach things from a different angle." (Notice the emphasis on "may").

Still, it'd be interesting to see if the average EL player differs from the average "normal" person regarding right-left brain thinking tendencies.

  4. If many people are engaged in a fight and someone dies that person may show up in everyone else's counter, even if you weren't hitting each other. I believe this also holds true for monsters.

During one of the invasions I was in c2 underworld (with half of EL it seems lol) and at the end of that I had like 40 new people in my kill counter. Names I know I never fought in PK.

  5. The invasion was awesome!

The time i was in c2 hell, i counted 59 pages worth of death messages, and i wasnt even in there the whole time before Ace beamed me out :(

P.S. A giant and a yeti somehow appeared on my kill counter, and my a/d is around 30/30... how did that happen?

If you know you didn't kill any and they show up in your counter, there seems to be a discrepancy. I know that if you are engaged in combat with someone/something and it dies at the hands of another, you get credit in your counter too. (One day for fun a few of us teamed our top fighter. Although I was fighting him, all the other guildies who died at his hands during that fight were in my kill counter too, even though I was only hitting the top fighter.)

In a single combat map though (c2 underworld), even that shouldn't happen, because only you were fighting that yeti at that moment in time. Seems to me you may have uncovered a bug. Oops, sorry, "undocumented feature."

  6. I was in c2 underworld and died many many times. So did half of EL it seems. I didn't hear one single person complain of lag while I was there. And I have to admit I had a ton of fun trying to dodge giants and time my dis to get out, only to poof back to a little island. I liked it.

I was also in MM, dodging dragons and bashing cycs and grizzlies. Again, not one person complained about lag. But many people were saying things like "Run!" and "Look out!" and "W00t!" IMO dodging the high-level baddies and finding stuff you can kill makes invasions more fun, especially on no-drops day when one mistake costs you ttpr essies and not a rosto.

I don't know Blee or Ace one bit, but I have to say I'm enjoying the invasions. My only feedback is they would be even more fun if the buildup to higher level baddies was more gradual, at least for ordinary #day invasions.

  7. It was a very fun event, and I hope to see more. Please please please Kheres, don't let one malcontent ruin it. There were tons of people who loved this event.

Kheres did his best to make everything as clear as possible beforehand. However, someone still did something no one anticipated during the contest. Kheres adjusted at the time to keep the contest running as smoothly as possible. I think the organizers did a great job adjusting their plans.

In further analysis: The armor/weapon limit and summoning limit made everything more fun imo. The team CL limits also made encounters more interesting. The whole nature of finding people and escorting them to exit was an amazing twist that kept things interesting. (I almost managed to steal Molime from DMan :D ) Although OhMyGod was walking around and followed our teams for a long time, he never attacked, just watched the action. IMO overall it was well set up, well executed, and well moderated. I honestly can't think of any way it could have been done to add more fun.

  8. The rules are very clear and reading them is easy, as Ent states. Seeing all the bans might make you worry about getting banned yourself. The reason is there are so many people who try to cheat. The mods are kept quite busy by all the idiots out there with the morals of a hyena.

Just do two things, and you'll be fine:

    1. If it's 2 different people, declare it to the mods. Your play patterns will reflect that and you'll be fine.

    2. If you have more that one character to yourself, never make them interact. In any way. Whatsoever.

By now, it should be obvious that if you cheat, you will be caught. The mods are very good at this, as is attested by the idiots who plead their obviously flawed cases in the bans forum.

  9. One other clarification please. :)

Any restrictions on wearing CoL, MoL, or specific cloaks?

Also, if the armor/weapon restriction is a "strong suggestion," seems like that leaves room for issues that may become flamewars. Any objection to making it a firm rule?

I just don't wanna see peeps argue as below.

Noob 1: You wore ti plate and JS cheat0r!

    Noob 2: It wasn't a "rule" just a suggestion.

    Noob 1: A STRONG suggestion. U suck!

    Noob 2: No u suck.

Noob 1: I'll branch your whole guild!

    etc

    etc

    etc

  10. I personally have no problem with my name appearing on any of the lists - I'm already on the tree mushies list :D

Personally, I'd prefer distribution graphs, with or without the new top lists. Maybe we can see if, say, 90% of the gold coins in the game were in the hands of 10% of the players?

It's called Pareto's Principle, named after Vilfredo Pareto, usually expressed as critical 20 percent and trivial 80 percent. It wouldn't surprise me to see those numbers in gc distribution, nor would it surprise me to see whines and flames following them.

I think it might hinder more than help this game or any other social endeavor where wealth (real or "pixelated") is distributed.

  11. But i was wondering.. it tends to swing with all attributes going bad or all of them going good.. Can't we have some good and some bad more often instead of full swings? At least people can't complain of having nothing to do then, they can work on some stuff while not doing stuff that their sign's are bad for

I'm guessing Ent took that into consideration, and has the system representing *actual* planet orbits. That means that as time passes, your bonuses will diverge from each other. Right now "the stars are aligned" for you. I think every sign will see that at some point, as the orbits of the planets are different, and their values all change in different increments.

  12. I wonder why Sun Tzu day makes people act so silly. So you get double exp. If you're lucky enough to be on when it starts, and train for 6 straight hours, it'd be like you trained 12 hours: 6 bonus hours. That's not a lot considering how many hours it takes to level. And the savings in pots and essies is still not so significant.

Honestly, I'm not so fond of Sun Tzu day, cuz it means every spawn will be taken. So unless I already had one before it started, it means 0 exp for me. ;)

As for the cyc thing above, why didn't you ask if he/she misclicked? It was one cyc? So you lost what... 2k-3k exp? :D

  13. There is already a huge infusion of GC from peeps selling flowers/fruits/whatever to NPCs, and getting drops from critters. More money poofing into the game would probably inflate the economy even more.

I think the only way a bank might work is if it was player-run. Meaning you could go to the bank and deposit GC available to lend, at a fixed or self-determined interest rate. Other players could borrow from whoever at the rates posted. Of course, there's no recourse for delinquency, which I'm sure would be rampant, and flood the outlaws forum. :)

  14. Do people get banned for poor English? :icon13:

I find it hard to simply believe an accusation without screenies or chatlog. I don't care whether the message is well composed or contains correct grammar. If you start a thread here, perhaps including your proof along with your accusation would constitute good practice.
