  1. Yeeeaaah!! :)

Like it, more mages, warriors, rangers and so! :)

And more low level monsters. Im tried to killing wolfs every day! :P

And more armors and weapons cuz armors are really expensive! Like steel plate are expensive and chain inexpensive and so.

    Suggestion of the year!

    Sure :mace:

Damn...unfortunately Iori forgot his sarcasm tags.

  2. Was the main server updated at all? Yesterday I was able to log on fine, but today I ran into this problem:

    http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e241/MagpieLee/Cantlog.jpg

I've not changed any settings at all or installed anything (PC wasn't even shut off).

Clicking on each option exits the program entirely with no results.

Tried it with a fresh install as well and it still occurs.

I am still able to login using my laptop however - just wondering if I'm the only one running into this problem.

  3. With all these armours flying around maybe a few months time we'd see some people train on rabbits with full ice dragon

    What's wrong with that ?

I ask because if there is really something wrong, Entropy should fix it perhaps ?

However, if there is nothing, why ridicule ?

Anyway, to answer your question "To use, or not to use" - in my opinion, at your a/d level, a full steel set plus titanium shield plus CoL plus NMT cloak/perk is the best option in terms of long term exp/cost relation. However, EL offers a wide range of other options available and I wouldn't be surprised seeing you training in absolutely different gear than I've recommended above

Yeah I suppose I could go for CoL + Tit Shield + Steel Set. (ty to Raz too, I never thought about the -accuracy aspect), only problem is actually acquiring the items...say...you're a rich player...Christmas coming up...wanna gieb ?

  4. What you are wearing should not concern anyone other than you anyway ;)

Thx for the your opinion

I don't know why you've decided to post this seeing as the purpose of the thread is to find out why people do it since I've been out of touch. I liked your previous post here but this one...maybe a forum PM would be better...cheers coffee.gif

    Simply because of that:

I'm sure some of the "older" people will know that it annoys them

why what others do annoys you?

Probably because in this age, newer players never had it so good (or at least much choice). With all these armours flying around maybe a few months time we'd see some people train on rabbits with full ice dragon

  5. For those who did this new instance, how were the rysncs guys/gals ?

If they have been pretty much fixed with this new instance,is there a chance that the Dragons from the pr0 instance can be replaced with a new monster(with the same stats as a dragon), so as to get rid of the rysnc causing animation they have ?

I can't really comment like kl4Uz since she (and a few others) were in the position to do more than one type of instance.

But I can say that there were some resyncs. It didn't bother me much imo and tbh I expected more of them. There were more orange spam msgs of "MagpieLee got healed because of his/her armor" then the red Resync with server msgs.

PS: I like this smiley :P

  6. Magpie I've noticed this as well.. The only times I have worn anything "determined better" then leather pants, leather boots, bone, steel sheild, steel chain, uni med & COL. Is when I add pick points. During that time I'd wear full Iron Plate and then I'll also inventory a bone, a steel long, and a ti long and equip a moon med. I do this for testing purposes to give myself "reason" for how to adjust for when I come back to the following time from resupply for training. If I can't use the bone, and the steel long is to much, then I know to remove the moon med and add a uni for example. Then the bone should work just fine for me. If for example the steel long isn't enough, but the ti long is doing to much damage. Then I know to remove my -ts to a point. So overall when I'm in iron plate, -15 ts'd I'm in test mode. I could just go to the test server instead, but mant times I'm just to lazy for that lolz.

I give my examples because I think maybe others are doing the same thing in steel plate or possibly ti plate or etc.. But I also think that many are wearing ti / steel plate as a "luxery" while training. I may at times make remarks to them.. Cuz I pr0 tardass like that, and I get a kick out of arguing sometimes. But still its not my gc their spending, so it really doesn't matter to me. Different strokes for different folks ;)

    ~~> me <~~ ;)

    Hey...nice sig ;)

Seems like you've tweaked around a lot. I've never really given any thought to it, just slapped on a moon med and my usual shizzle. If I'm fighting something higher then my station out of boredom then I'd usually bring a tit long or serp, along with LEs (LD), AE (MD), DE (Harm). If I'm really struggling then I throw in a damage ring or two.

I guess I'm old fashioned, get this for example - for some reason I thought it was still normal to bring ingreds to make potion of mana to train a/d. And I did that for 2 refills lol. Then I sorta figured out that there'd been over ~20 updates since people stopped doing that, SRs stacked now and mana potions still only gave 5 mana :omg:

I usually train chims in augmented leather, or steel chain with iron helm, steel shield, leather boots. for yetis I'll add a col and cutlass.

Cool :) This is an example of the other end of the spectrum isn't it? I thought you was an uberlicious Manuer LL? If it works then great :P

What you are wearing should not concern anyone other than you anyway ;)

Thx for the your opinion :D

Since titanium armour came into game I have rarely trained in anything lower than steel/ti sets.

I still remember training on ogres when I was amost 10 levels lower than recommended wearing full ti and a col. Yes I had to heal a lot but the exp I got was well worth it. I also remember being pretty annoyed when a player popped up wanting the spawn, saw me and called me a noob. No that I cared much, I told him how people decide to train was thier business.

I personallly have found that at recommneded levels I heal way less wearing ti/steel and still get about the same exp per hour, so it works for me :)

More magic exp is always a bonus :P

  7. So what drops did you get from the dilimaci and scarbe?

I think it was over 10kgc for a Scarbe (can you translate what this means please!)

the first dilimaci dropped 40 Rings of power I heard, the 2nd didn't seem to drop much except gold.

    Wasn't really a big single-item drop unless someone's fibbing (which I doubt).

Anyway, first wave was DCWs. (I've come to the conclusion that the first wave alternates between Fero's and DCWs). These were a good start.

Then the second wave hurt us a bit. We lost boognish :( We got through it though.

The third wave wasn't skipped this time and the Scarbe was there (12k hp armed female orcs). We got past them okay; attacked us separately.

The forth, 3 standard yeti (yay mana). Got through them...

The five were the 2 x 20khp giants. We popped our bear stones to scratch it (curtosy of boognish's db) and just about limped through to complete it. What screwed us up was that just as one was dying the other one came on the scene and started to pound us.

Party members: Quaser, bugabear, Barbara, Misery_Machine, guy, Me and boognish (who died mid-way through second wave).

Teamwork was good and less people died :D

I think on main it will be hard to complete that instance since on the test we negged up for it and I still had some rosts from what you gave us (radu). On the other hand, we didn't have a full party and was lower a/d.

    We also needed a :D

    Anyway, was very fun.

Edit: This was my 4th 60-80 test. I guess its 4th time lucky

  8. Well, we just tested it two times and we all had great fun and for me it was a great evening with an awesome group of people (you guys all rock and you know who you are!! :D). Personally I wish for every EL player to get this instance in the game (with a tweak or two :D), you will love it!! Good night, my bed awaits me!

I tried it and again, the 2nd wave is to strong, they multi and pl ~60-80s a/d just arent strong enough to take the waves

Well I've tested it 3 times in a row now. The first you know about. The second and third attempt was with Brain, Shallara, Melchoren, Zamolxes, Elf_Ninja, Kl4uz, Suncie (and me).

First wave were fero's which kinda caught me by surprise doable though.

The second wave really did hit us hard. Melteans kinda ended things for us. The server was restarted and things were made easier.

Upon the restart Radu was good enough to give us supplies to test with (Rosts, HE's, SR's).

First wave were back to DCWs (yay mana). Which we dispatched.

Second wave with the Melteans was still hard but I think they were made easier. Their numbers dropped to 25 too (from 40 from the first time I tested). Anyway, with a lof of luck we stumbled past them with a degree of difficulty (not many of us were seasoned fighters and a lot of restoration casts failed).

The third wave were 3 yeti which according to radu skipped a wave.

After we got passed those (with relative ease) we were up against 2 x 20k HP giants named Dilimac. This wave spawned right on where we spawned which I'm sure is a mistake. Anyway we got one of them down to 4k or something before we all had to bail because we ran out of supplies.

  9. ermmm...

anyway, the Instance for n00bs was tested just now.

Didn't start off too good, believe it or not some didn't even have the map installed properly -_- So we lost two people from the maximum party to leave us with 7 people.

First wave DCWs was okay. Being spread out pretty evenly too made it doable. No deaths.

Second wave...all hell broke loose. 30 Melteans were a step too far. And we were not able to complete it.

We didn't have the best teamwork or whatever but even so, they had our number and more then half the party of 7 got wiped out at with 13 more Melteans to go. A bunch of rostogols went. It was kinda sad really ;D

  10. I know you said its unfinished, seems like if you haven't got a serp stone/invasion token, you're "stuck" on the option where you can only say "Nevermind".

Clicking on it doesn't return you to the previous screen - it just stays on that screen until you close the dialogue window

  11. I've been wondering about Draia for a bit now finding my feet slowly...but something I've noticed bugged me a bit.

Players using really good gear training on low monsters?

I'm not going to name any names or whatever, just wondering if this is the norm now that the market is saturated with these items.

For instance, I've only just started using Iron Plate set on ogres. (And not the enhanced kind either, and no CoL). Before that I was juggling steel chains and augmented leathers.

But...I've seen people with full Steel Plate, CoL, NMT with a tit shield. Another example is a player using full steel + CoL + tit shield on goblins...

Maybe I'm way out of touch with today's credit crunching market situation but isn't that a little OTT?

I'm sure some of the "older" people will know that it annoys them, but when I think about it, its not so much as annoyance as curiousity for me.

I was kinda planning of stepping upto Steel Plate/Enhanced Iron after ogres (Fluffies or Clops or Armed Orcs) is that a step too far?

SOO anyway, please post and gimme your thoughts :hiya:

Post any other examples you've seen of players using uberilicious gear on "lower" monsters.

And when did you start using "good" gear on what monsters?

If you're one of those players who hunt #beavers with ice dragon armour + thermal serps (exaggeration) then post and tell us about it.

EDIT: I'm not 100% sure that this thread belongs in combat but its the closest section I can think of without belonging to general chat - so mods can move if needed.
