  1. @Leeloo: yeah well I guess you're right, the cross itself gives you the exact position on the grid... then at least the map of WS (IIRC) need to be corrected a bit. There are some glitches near the Lakeside Villagem, but I don't have the coords now, I'll reply later when I checked the place again in-game.

  2. Only for harvesting, please read the Rules section in this forum.

    6. Do not use macroing/scripting, this is very annoying, and it will most likely get you banned, if we discover it.

Exception: it is OK to use a program that autocliks the mousr to harvest, BUT it is illegal to make it auto drop the stuff, when full. It is also illegal to do that while you are AFK. AFK harvesters, at the first offense will have their harvesting exp degraded by 10K exp. At the second offense, it will be set to 0. At the 3rd, they will lose their character.

  3. If I filter a word, I cannot unfilter it with the command. eg:

    #filter ass

output: Ok, ass was added to your filter list (ass appears in local_filters.txt)

    #unfilter ass

    output: #unfilter sme

The comand #unfilter seems not to work at all.

Also, after I filtered "ass" I went into EL's folder and removed "ass" from "local_filters.txt" manually and saved the *.txt file (Game is still running I haven't restarted it), now when I try to execute the command #filter ass again I get the output: You are already filter ass! ass".

  4. Personally I don't want to see any other players on my map, so I voted for NO. The only thing that needs to be adjusted is the blue cross, it's not working everywhere properly. (I'll make a new thread later and tell which places I mean)

btw: I like the maps that we have now, they are kept in this worn-up style like if you were holding one of those old pirate-treasure maps  , they're beautiful!

  5. If you have problems downloading the file get yourself a download manager like FlashGet and use it to download the file.

Did you start the game with el.exe directly? (not by using any shortcuts on your desktop, I mean open the folder where all your EL files are and double-click on el.exe

  6. No, the server is not down. Can you imagine what would happen on the forums if it did? :)

There's still something at your end of the line.

What OS do you use? Are you sure that there are no other firewalls active besides ZoneAlarm? (like for example the build-in firewall in WinXP)

  7. You can buy them from Harvy (an NPC) in Desert Pines (DP). Harvy is standing near his wagon a northwest from the lake in Kamra Desert. For each empty vial you'll need 5 Quartz and 10gc (gc = gold coins). So make sure you can already harvest Quartz which needs lvl 16 of harvesting and have a pickaxe in your possession.

  8. I'm not sure that downloading nvidia drivers from Windows-Update is the best idea, better download them from NVIDIA's site directly and install them.

Also you were not supposed to disable Anti-Virus protection, I asked you if you had scanned your computer for viruses recently (and if not you should do that ASAP, with latest definition updates).

There is also no need to disable your firewall, 'cause it might only become a problem if you try to connect to the server, but to do that you first need to get a login-screen, which seems to fail loading so you can enable your firewall again.

Download Ad-Aware (the anti-spyware tool I gave you the link to in my last post) install it on your PC, update it's database (important! update it prior to scanning), and scan your computer for spyware. If the program finds any spyware "Quarantine" it, but look through the found items and make sure you don't delete any stuff you might need later on.

So after you have scanned your computer for viruses and spyware, restart your computer repeat each of the scans (anti-virus & anti-spyware) again and if your computer turns up clean try to run EL by first using el.exe and then elc_0_9_5p3.exe.

IF the game still fails to start, try reinstalling the ServicePack1 for WinXP, then try to launch the game again.

If this doesn't help, go to THIS site and download HijackThis 1.97.7. After downloading you won't need to install it, just extract HijackThis.exe into a folder and run it. Do a Scan and then Save log. After saving the logfile it will be instantly opened with notepad, select the whole text by pressing CTRL+A and copy it to clipboard CTRL+C.

Now come back into the forum and tell us the results of your actions AND paste (CTRL+V) into your reply the contents of the logfile you made with HijackThis. Or if you don't want everyone to see this log with your startup-items send me a PM with it's contents.

  9. @ Omega: Is your game patched? IF not follow the instructions in THIS thread. SDL_net.dll belongs to EL, but I wonder how can you "lose" this *.dll after playing the game once... Did you check the folder where you installed EL to if the file is still there? Are you using shortcuts to start the game? Have you tried launching the game directly from EL's game folder (twice) to make sure you have no mixed up shortcuts or something like that?

  10. @ duran: I can't speak for the others but I was rather talking about temporary storing ore in the bags to help other ppl make iron bars faster :P So a couple of guys just sit around and work together, I only was wondering why my bags didn't disappear while doing the same thing as Kelven (and his did apparently)?

Perhaps Kelven you forgot to update the bag at some point?

  11. Sure, the best way would be to go into the market channel #jc 3 and ask there if anyone is selling the weapon you need. You still can buy most (all?) weapons in stores though, check THIS page. But they'll cost ya' a lot more compared to buying them from other players.

  12. You might wanna try to convince her to let you tweak it at least if you can. Even if you're not familiar with settnig up firewalls you could try google and read some stuff about firewalls to lear more about them. A well set-up firewall is a very good thing, but if you have a firewall installed with custom settings and never did any tweaking it's working nowhere near it's full potential anyway. You only need to open some ports and allow EL to access the internet (well in most cases with standard configurations I mean *g*).
