Loved it, great for us wimps to beat on a few things and watch the rest of the thrills!!

I can see Jez's point, although I'm not too worried. I do remember the rule that required a skill over 20 (other than harvest) to join a guild was generally enforced. My first character took that long to get to know anyone well enough to join with them, and yes there was a great pride from that. Maybe that should be again the rule. Another thing I've noticed is loads of names nearly the same as others or NPC/bot names and not really following the original suggestions on the website of names following the game theme (no Star Trek or cartoon names etc.) At the moment I'm harv'ing next to a LOTR character with an extra letter at the end of his name.... I did try to PM a player with a very simple four letter name and got a message of "Too many names like that....." and a Guild Tag with an accent or umlaut in it that the client wouldn't identify. All this creates more strangers than friends, not to mention lots of non-English in busy local chat (that's no problem for me, but again more strangers than friends.) As for the armor.... they're bound to lose it if they train in it as newbies, don't know if that affects the price of armor (and weapons) for the manu'ers, but it's bound to become a learning experience. Meanwhile we had a newbie in EL Chat (ch #4) earlier and we all teamed up and doled out some good advice making for good teamwork and fun for all. The game isn't going downhill IMHO, but it is moving along at a quick pace!

Missed it by that much --> <-- ! Logged on during and loved the announcements, was waiting for smaller critters to appear in Seridia, but that must have been in the beginning. The invasion created lots of enthusiastic chat in channel 4 among us armchair pwners, but it was our loss to log in on wrong continent with incompatible enemies.... This must take you some work and time to plan, but I hope you can do these invasions as often as possible! Great stuff!!

I'm a lousy dancer in RL, and a lousy PK'er in EL, so it was a handy way to get me Monster Magnetism early. I'm the type who likes to rearrange perks and attributes to boost skills and then reset for the next set of skills, so I intend to wind up with no perks or just Fast Regen.

This is an odd post I know, but I'm beginning to get worried! Where in the world is Vixeyrose?? The last time she was in EL was Friday, September 7 and she logged out with the usual "See you tomorrow." This would not normally seem strange, players always come and go, but the circumstances make this 'disappearance' different. We had been chatting ingame for a few weeks before I decided to join her guild 'R@SE' a week before she dropped out of sight. She began the guild recently after leaving CEL to try her own thing, and was being very responsible and discriminating when looking for members. When I joined her she was on her own and talking to other prospective members so now there are just the two of us in R@SE. The strange thing is we had been working together for over a week discussing strategies, levelling, and building the beginnings of a shared 'treasury' spending at least three hours daily. On Friday night she had planned to put in more game time over the weekend, said "See you tomorrow" and *POOF* gone! I don't have any guild privileges or authority and wouldn't do anything without her agreement anyway so I'm just levelling and hoarding resources and gold ('cause Dvarfs luv gold) while I wait for her return. I decided to wait a full week to ask...... so, does anyone know anything about Vixeyrose? I assume whatever is keeping her from EL is a RL issue and I know nothing about the human behind the character other than she/he has a day job and is in the same time zone. Maybe there is a friend in the game that can give me clue? In the meantime, I'm waiting patiently and will stick with R@SE till I hear different (I know nothing of guild operation.) By the way, she has a very well done guild site at http://www.freewebs.com/theorderoftherose/index.htm and as far as I'm concerned, what it says, goes. Invitations to join are still open, I don't have the authority of approval, but we have some upstanding and mature values to follow, with a touch of roleplay and 'period' ideals to work with. That, and my twisted, corny sense of humor.... Anyone with helpful info can post, please no snide remarks! Yes, Grum. She has intended to, and I believe tried to join the forums, but had verification problems. It's on the to-do list but she admits to being most comfortable with one-on-one ingame chat. That is common, lots of players don't spend time on the forums, members or not. I've only started monitoring and posting more often since I hooked up broadband back in July!

Thanks Entropy. No addresses, we had just been working ingame together every day for a few weeks and chatting about EL. I imagine her problems are internet or computer related, I'll give it time.

No perk for me! I'll never decrypt the math of Astrology to my neolithic means of understanding, but I like the results and how I adjust my routines to them. By the way, very intelligent poll, bkc56; definitely not one of those Yes/No flame starters!

Thanks, Jez. So far I've just left a Gossip message for her in case she logged onto the game when I'm off. No PM's or emails, I don't have the info. Anyway, I'm assuming her problems are internet related or she would have Gossiped me back. I still don't see her as registered on the forums yet, but she has intended to. How can you tell the altered date on the guild site and activity on EL? Good detective work!

It would be fun to have a whole Astrological Hocus-Pocus history with zodiac and constellations, symbols, etc., but I'll be the first to admit I don't have the patience to put that kind of thing together! But, it would be fun... Maybe some old scrying witches as NPC's to spew cryptic jive for a few gcs...... I'm very pleased that my 'sign' turned out to be the same as my RL 'sign' which I pay little attention to in RL. This brings me to the new update. I do miss using "#da" but in the few days since update the effects are just as noticeable and I can plan my routine to fit after very little experimentation. I don't have the edumacation to do all the Math and predict my stars, but I have got the mediwockle knowhow to tell when I'm wasting ingredients and foodstuffs on a bad failure rate (learned that yesterday!) Still, I support the Astrology system full on, and appreciate the extra variety in possible outcomes of what used be predictable, boring routines.
