  1. Don't be dissapointed. All players that bought the book will be able to train on yetis sooner.

And maybe its good for exp.

U ll need less coords and lower attack level to score hits/bypass armour and there is always the home button...

There is always a way to get good exp.And those books are very usefull for all those who can't add a lot of p/c cause they need pps for other skills.(i ll buy it).

    For me:

Before reading fluffy book - aprox same att as def xp/hour

After reading fluffy book - more att then def xp/hour

before and after total xp/hour - the same as before, just more att then def

Good if you want to even out those gaps in a/d ;)

lol coz u n@@b.... i have 50k xp difference on a/d when i have + damage on astro (i have less xp)... think a bit... more damage = less xp coz u kill faster...

tempest is right : who is dumb enough to buy book for more damage ?

agis with your low p/c you should ts and stay on fluff / feros longer... i can't do thaat : it would cost me like 40 coord removals.. ^^ so only way is to increase p/c till i have enough for fc/mc... ^^

Everybody has its own philosophy about training. I will buy the book cause i cant add enough coords cause i am doing other skills.(manu, crafting, hydro mining etc). So for some people the book is useful.

I haven't check this yet but maybe +crit and damage bonus means 6 less coords for yetis so maybe its better exp. (maybe i am 100% wrong).

On the other hand at 150 def(unfortunately) exp is not important. So maybe its better to kill yetis faster and get more drops.

Anyway i posted here about a bug. If i knew what is going to happen i wouldn't post at first place.

EG:At least now we know what fighting books provide.

  3. As far as i know dungeons are something like that: You enter to a place like carmien manor. The area is multi and mobs don't ignore u. If we say that its a dungeons for 60's then the player will have to face many ogres at the same time that can mana drain u,mana burn you, some of them may have mirror skin perk, evanescence, bp perk, i glow in the dark, self destruct etc.

The area has good drops but its impossible for a 60's player to make it alone.

The deeper you go to the dungeon the harder the mobs become.

  4. 2 days ago someone was banned in anachronos server.

In the past many many linux users were banned (from bots not admins) cause bots thought that wine is an illegal client or something.

Also u can send a report cause someone was spamming in the chat.If bots receive many reports for the same player bye bye...

Massive bans happened just before the release of the burning crusade because players accidentaly entered in the new maps of the expansion pack.

Everyday players are banned cause they sell gc for dollars and they are advertising their sites in the local chat.

But on the other hand ban in wow means nothing. 9 millions users are there.

You can play in another server.

The funny thing is that u can leggaly macro there(they encourage u to do it and they provide you the tools) and send items to your alt via mail. (in game mail system)

You don't have to trade at all.

  5. About what ambrosious said in a way i agree. Maybe the maximum damage that a monster can cause you still remains the same. But critical hits against u maybe more rare.

@Masterpiter and Dushan. I noticed similar things too. Maybe it has to do with the combat level?

And something else. Sometimes when i add 2 more physique monsters hit me way more often than before!!

Things come back to normal if i add 2 coords :(

That happened when i was reseted.

Mostly i asked about accuracy cause cutlass (+15 accuracy) seems to be much better than rapier (+15 critical to hit) or sunbreaker (+15 critical to damage). Not only i can score hits but hits cause a lot of damage and i have the feeling i can block/dodge/avoid more hits!!

  6. We all know(i hope) that the level of your a/d determines the chances to avoid/score hits.

Also with might your hits become stronger.

I reseted on the test server and i was able to kill a grizzly bear bare hand. I had no p/c at all.(only 4/4)

    How can this be possible?

I know of course that bears have weak def/armor.

Is there a chance that the higher attack you have the more chances you have to score critical hits?

I also heard different opinions about accuracy. Finally accuracy means more chances to score hits, stronger hits or both?

  7. Entropy has a habit of not updating knowledge.lst for the autoupdate when he adds books. Autoupdate now has the newest knowledge.lst so that should be fixed for those that can update.

Note: some peoples autoupdate doesn't work because the tmp/ directory was not created where EL was installed. Write permission in the EL directories is also needed.

Yes now i remember. Last time i had this problem i modified permissions in all el directories "read, write" even execute.

"I would REALLY appreciate it if we could get confirmation from Entropy as to whether or not we also get +5 to att and def, not just crits."

    Agreed

  8. I had the same sort of thing with another book. I think it has to do with the knowledge.lst or somthing. Once there was a client or auto update it cleared up though. I suspect it won't show in the knowledge list after its completed either. Until an auto/client update or something.

I always had some problems with the knoledge list. I hope after some loging off and on the problem will dissapear..

(Debian Linux stable-ati radeon mobility 9700.)

@ Marwen fighting books are +5 attack +5 def +5 critical to hit as far as i know. But i would train on feros and chims anyway.

  9. well lets put it like this eventually I'd like to PK but atm I am thinking of atleast lvl on flufs till the max before I even start PK. so basicly right now I will go for max exp.

I am not really someone who focusses on 1 class cause I also mix sometimes. but my main skill intrest would be a/d

With those stats i was able to pk a bit(i am weak though for top 20), i can make all my armor, and weapons (tit shields, cutlass etc). I can harvest hydro, I can make medallions and all c1 & some c2 rings and recently i started engineering. And yes my alch is enough to make hydro and wolfram bars. When i am really bored i summon and do some potioning too :P

Although i don't train seriously for the last 3 months, i am still top 50 in oa.

Also i don't have anti or godless.

I am mentioning all those things to show u that if you understand the game and how to adjust your p/c u can succeed many things.

Forgot to mention that in the past i had arti perk too. (I shouldn't sell my arti cape :icon13: )

Its good to listen to players opinions but the most important is to do tests and always trust what your exp counters show per hour.

If i could say a generic rule for maximum exp i would say that :You get maximum exp when your toughness and armor allows you to stay in the spawn for 1 hour + and your might allows to to slightly bypass the monsters armor.

Thats the rule for recommended p/c.

  10. If you care about maximum exp and u have a nmt with col.

    1) Ogres 58 def p/c/w 20/20/20 (i had those stats while i was on ogres and in the triple in melinis i was getting more exp than fluffy trainers. It wont hurt if u add vitality. I didn't have nmt and col. With ts pots u can stay there untill late 80's. I started training on ogres with physique 18 without nmt,col and titanium btw.

    2) Fluffies def 88 p/c/w 36/48/20 and as much vitality as you like.

    3) Armed orcs give crappy exp unless u train in the pk cave or if u know a small trick in a map in c2.

4)Cyclops can give good exp with those stats but i never liked them. Use tit short or a small iron sword.

With the p/c i mentioned or even lower when u increase your a/d u will get more exp than before.

If u train with nmt, col, titanium plate and steel greaves and cuisses use lower p/c on fluffies.

If u wanna pk forget what i said :icon13:

  11. Well i saw 2 emergency updates in anachronos server and venture co server during daytime.

There was a message that some servers are down for maintenance.

What i never understood is how they make it possible from players from different servers to play in the same pk ground :P (without lag)

Anyway if el is beta, wow sometimes reminds me an alpha version of a buggy program :)

But i have to admit that game play is fantastic there.

Anyway better to compare el with wow instead of runescape. That will make the game better.

  12. I had many problems in the wow server i am playing. I am not sure that so many programmers are working for them.

They have a system in game were players can report a map bug automatically.

For example you stuck in a map and u use a mod ticket or however this is called to beam you.

This action sends automatically a report to the debugging team with map and coords. In the next patch they are checking the reports and they fix the bugs.

Forget the community spirit there. I don't even know the players of my own guild lol

  13. I am pking in wow and i still enjoy pking in el. That means that el is good and pking in el is fun.

I prefer to harvest in el than pking in runescape :D

    The problems are

    1)Pk is very expensive(rostos,armour etc)

2)You dont win anything while pking (stats, gifts or whatever)

3)Leveling is extremely hard so people are training all the time and they keep p/c low.(those stats are not enough to pk).

4)If you start a skill that means low p/c.

5))Economy makes the game very difficult. Most el players never played a p2p game and they are not experienced. So they keep suggesting penalties. I am not saying this to start a flamewar but i understood how difficult the gameplay in el is after playing other games. We are addicted with el and we cant understand all those things. But others that were playing other games can't accept such a difficult-expensive gameplay.

I can tell u an example that has nothing to do with pk.

When i told my guildies(IN WOW) how much a tit helm costs and that it offers only 3 armour they thought i was joking.

A helmet in wow would provide more material points than a col. None in el thinks that this is weird.

  14. Tirun's suggestion is in the right direction. Pk is the only skill were players dont win anything at all(only fun and pk points).

To make a player that is training many many hours per day to enter pk maps you must offer him something really good.

Something that will make him stronger probably?

EDIT: I don't mean something like "remove rostos".

    You sure? ;)

Well sometimes you may get lucky and win some items.I got some drops like capes, serps even axes.

Someothers got titanium armours. But those things don't happen everyday.

If we calculate the red capes, the weapons and armours that get degraded, rostos,he's,pots, essences then pk is very expensive.

    Espessialy for players between 60's-90's.

For example yesterday i entered KF. I pked an el lady. She was wearing nmt while fighting and a thermal serp. I had a brod with me (i didn't use it). But if i did she would lose thousands of gc.

Finnaly she dissed but we both wasted he's,sr's,sum. stones and i didnt win even pk points.

After 30 seconds Luci entered. I didnt lose a rosto cause i was at votd sto. ;)
