  1. I think this is a great idea. How about a special place for then NPC to be placed, kind of like the Alc school in WS (not that place persay), but a school or shop like setting (to give the roleplayers their fix). An anouncement could go out over the #ig "a student needs training in ___" to all the guilds. Those who want to send someone over can. If a non guild person wants some one to work with, they can just wait by the npc.


  2. I think, this spell should be stackable.

     

    But, first, make it magic level dependent, and, maybe, have a cooldown for that spell which depends on magic level.

     

    Like, magic level 30 to be able to cast it, cooldown for that spell is 5 minutes - ((magic_level-30) / 10).

     

    Something like that, if its possible to have different cooldowns for different

    spells :)

    Entropy I must say that one of the best things you ever did was make a spell's effect based on level, this provides an encentive for people to atain high levels of magic. It puts some teeth in to being a magic user. :D

     

    Rather than think of what the "abuse" could be, lets look for a defense against this. How about protection from magic spell, granted it isn't used yet, but it's an idea. The protection spell could add a % of failure to the spell having any effect based on level. Another idea is antidote could have a duration of effect, rather than just instant. Someone could take an antidote potions before a battle, that would provide protection for a given amount of time. If the battle last longer than the effect, then they are in danger again and need another or to flee.


  3. The last few time I have gone to grubani for books, I have seen flufs and trolls and cyclops all wandering around with nobody, I repeat nobody, fighing them. I guess these arn't good enough if they are not on a pk map. :P

     

    I am with Zanadu, the invasions in votd mean nothing to me, I can't fight those monsters so I just hang mostly on c2 and keep clear of votd.

     

    Oh, btw I did not vote, because with c1 and c2 I can allways find someplace to kill something. :)


  4. When ele was used only for summoning, I could not give my ele away. No one wanted it I offered it on the market channel many times. I finely had to sell it to a bot for much less than they are worth. It is nice that the price is going up and there is a demand for them.


  5. I would like some Giant Scorpians with deadly poison (antidotes needed or you will lose 100health over 2 mins or maybe a spell?)

     

    OR what about a Giant snake that paralyzes you for 2 turns?

     

    Maybe even a magic Vampire that life drain you with attacks?

     

    I think some new monsters (or monsters that are already ingame) should start to have special attacks.

     

     

    That's the idea, spiders should poison you, maybe even paralize you for a time. :P

     

    Yes, we all know this stuff needs to be coaded, I would help if I knew how, but by the time I learn to code, the game would be finished on it's 3rd release. :)


  6. I did search, but all the entries I saw delt with our current nests of ant bots.

     

    How about some ants, along the same lines as large spiders. They attack in groups, multiple combat, no ignore, maybe stick close to a cave, aka. hive and a faster re-spawn. Also, lets make them easier, maybe 15 a/d killable, 1 on 1, but if they attack in a group they are much more dangerous. Something that when you see 10 of these bearing down on you, you pee your pants and run.


  7. Ever since the 1.3.1p1 update, I have had problems with the el game. I down loaded and installed this:

    The problem I am having now is the el game will not load without rebooting my computer. What I would like to do is unintall and reinstall in a clean folder. What files, etc do I need to copy in order to maintain my character, map marks, etc.

  8. First off, this is a shameless bump because I think it is a good idea and I don't want Entropy to miss it.

     

    Second, is I really like the idea of having one continent day and one night. C1 can be prime for setting special days, etc, and it would neat to see spawns in the grave yards at night.

  9. I like this as well.

     

    Another thought how about a town watchmen who will give a mini quest like go clear out the skellies that spawned in the graveyard that night. The reward could be a small amount of coin or a cheap item.

     

    How about a few more undead, like zombies that rise out of the graveyard and the masters of all undead, the Vampire or the Lich.

     

    The question was raised "what about the newbies?" Well, what about the newbie who stumbles on a White Stone invasion? They die, simple as that. You let them know that is not allways safe in some areas at night. It is the same as the PL goblin, you can die if you go there then.

     

    I don't know how hard it would be to program, but you could make c1 and c2 on two different time zones, when it is day on c1, it is night on c2, e.g. they are 3 hours apart to make it easier. Then people can go to day if they want day and night for night.


  10. Partly taken from some conversations last night, and began thinking of them now.

     

    MAGIC - There currently are no true "mages" in game. Perhaps this is because no magic requires a nexus, making it perfect for every fighter to use magic. This is fine, but what about expanding on the magic a little more. Require 10 magic nexus, hell, maybe even upwards of 20 magic nexus for high end spells. This would force the player to choose, if you want the p/c for fighting, go for it. But if you want to tap into some top end spells, you'll have to sacrifice your physique and coord for the requirements. Or perhaps instead of requiring a nexus, have a certain level of perception (currently unused) to use certain spells.

     

    The problem here is that when fighters will attack you when you have very low pc you will be killed in a second. And since you have such a little viewrange you can't say to stand far away to cast your magic :P EL combat system is just too limited to have a mage skill :P

     

     

    That would be an easy fix, add just a few extra spells. Spells like shock, the magic user sends 75-150 pts damage to anyone fighting with them, another one would be stun, the person fighing with them would be stunned for a period time, long enough to get away or finish them off.

     

    I too would like to see magic users get a little more respect.


  11. Ok, here is what I am running,

     

    Compaq Presario

    AMD 1.5 ghz

    Vision Tek Xtasy 9600xt ATI video card

     

    The problems I have been having since the first update a few weeks ago is, I crash on start up, meaning after I enter my user name and password, hit enter, it crashes. If I retry right after that, it will go through. The second is it crashes on exit. They said it was fixed, so I redown loaded the the update and it does not work for me. I tried down loading the zip on page 1 and replacing what was in my el folder, but that did not help. Please forgive me, I am not a techie, just tell me in plain english what I need to do to fix these problems. I am not afraid to dink around if I have some idea of what I am to do.
