  2. Question about the economy

    The economy, as it is, is fine imo. It is a very simple model because this is a game. Inflation?...i dont think so. Any tweaks to this economy occur from time to time by Ent, whether we know it or not. *2-cents*

    I can't wait for these lol. I agree with the use of the '#' key...its kinda standard already for issuing most commands and I dont have to go searching for another lol. BTW, will emotes work while sitting with/without sitlock, standing and/or walking??
  4. Resource shortages idea

    EL currently controls 'resources' entering the game in many, many ways. Today we seem to forget that it is the player's ability to; - locate a 'resource' - gain access to it - special no havesting days - gain the knowledge to mine it - have the harv skill levels to collect a resource - carry enough tools (breakage) - survive radon patches and Mother Nature - as well as beasties in the dark - and have enough EMU to mule the 'resource' back to his/her storage. The only positive things a harvestor has is the important harvestor's cloak/perk. You just need to look at 'hydro' to see how a commodity's is controlled into the game today. Imo there is no need to 'turn off' a 'resource' with all this other stuff currently limiting a resource coming into game.

    My initial reaction is that I dont like the idea as defined. It sounds more like another 'special day' except it occurs every week - I assume on the same calender day (or would that be random too). I look to the 'No Harvest Day' as an example and to me does not seem to impact or change prices for either the resource(s) or item(s) produced from them.

    The Garg has always had a great look about them and I agree with everyone above on the updated look - great job Roja ^^ When i first glimpsed a tall garg walking around Raven for the first time I almost...well. i think you get the idea. Will we ever see dragon shileds anytime soon? I searched the forum and couldn't find anything on this topic.

    We installed and ran this final RC on all systems in my siggy; no crashes, no immediate or major issues to report so far. Everything seems to be working well. However, my missing "mouse pointer" problem still occurs on the Toshiba Laptop, but this time I've noticed a slight difference from the previous RC. When the pointer vanishes during initializing the client it was also not visible on the login screen either...this time it does appear (stable) on the login screen. Once I login in and proceed into the game then the pointer will vanish again. Only to reappear when the mouse is moved. We'll keep a lookout and report back any other issues if we find any...     O-L is currently on hold because too much time had been taken up in RL. I want to get back to it soon, but lots of things keep coming up and the next step I'll have to be able to really focus on it for a while with few distractions. I would pay for a game as described...however i'm hesitant when even the dev's time seems...well...preoccupied

I have two GoDs atm...I've been waiting for a particular GoD to show up for over two years now I also agree that more GoDs would make it more interesting indeed...and I also agree with those who suggest more than three GoDs would be needed especially with the new skills added so far...   16. RC 2

    RC2 has been working well since we initially installed it on our three platforms We have added a new HP laptop which I've included in my siggy below. This new HP laptop is running RC2 with everything turned "on" with no major issues except...the screen movement becomes very 'jerky' near water. While on PV MAP for eg., near the two fountains (just west of sto) I notice that the fountains' particles and the waves in the water are pulsating at the same rate as this noticeable 'jerkiness'. And when I'm standing still I notice that the movements of others who pass me by also jerky at the same fequency as the water and particles. If I turn the reflections option 'off' the 'jerkiness' seems to be reduced somewhat. I've toggled every other "graphics related" option with no reduction in the jerkiness. In regards to our missing mouse pointer problem as mentioned above, i've noticed that when the client is initializing the pointer icon is 'white' and visible. Then I notice that the pointer turns 'black' and is still visible. However, when the RC's initialization is just about complete, the pointer turns 'white' again and then disappears just before the login screen.     I've installed and successfully running RC2 on all three platforms in siggy. No crashes upon loading or running game so far. I do have the same "dissappearing" mouse pointer when the mouse isnt moving on game screen only (Laptop). The client know's where the pointer is located on the screen - clicking game buttons and object on screen works, but the pointer disappears when mouse is still. That's all I have so far....

    Yes, and a lot of people would cry: Omfg, so unfair, we need a free 'reset' where we get all the stuff reseted and the PPs freed so we cna do a new build, etc. well, if you play a game where you as a pro player can get killed by a noob within 5 seconds you would cry too i think. but honestly, everyone would, cause it just doesn't make sense EDIT: the fact that 95% of the pkers hate this idea should be enough of a reason to see that it will NOT help PK. I get a little surprised when people start quoting statistics or polling results where none exist. I think if pkers knew the possibilities with classes where they could be a tank, assassin, ranger, paladin, etc would make the game more interesting especially in the long run...

    I'm not into 'perks'...i dont have any but I decided to post because I like Ent's idea. To add to the discussion; instead of a perk to "temporarily shift char class" why not allow a player to shift classes based soley on attained "cross attributes". There seems to be alot of flexibility and potential within the cross attributes for classes. It would work like; Each 'class' would have a predetermined profile of 'cross attributes'. A player, if he/she has used PPs wisely, would be able to shift (toggle) from one class to another at will with all the appropriate skill modifiers (+/-) being applied. It would be up to the player whether this would be permanent or temporary. However, and this is where I think where the game would open up more is with adding many class based things like; '+/- perks', 'special items', 'new skills', and other neat stuff that would cost you and me lots of bricks for Ent's castle. Just a thought...

    Im glad to hear that C2 is no longer secret as well... How long would a tour take? Would you be considering a certain time limit? This might help in figuring out what could be included.

    Hi Anna Can you be more specific about the intent of the tour? For example, if the intent is to teach a new player how to read Maps, look up things like PK/Multi/Monster info for a map, how to determine Map to Map linkages...then could this be done on C1? I think C2 should remain a secret.

    Disabling the moon did the trick! Thanks a lot! Keep up the nice work! After experiencing similar problems with 1.7.0 RC (as noted in my previous post in this thread) I could no longer play the game and decided to reinstalled the 1.6.0 Released Client again. After reading the above suggestion I installed 1.7.0 again and ran it with no issues!. My problem was gone...I did not have to turn off any 'sky related options' and no crashing! The only issue I have now is when my mouse cursor is not moving it disappears from the screen. It will reappear when I move the mouse around. The only difference between now and my first post in this thread was that I installed 1.7.0 RC over the el_sky03 RC. I'm wondering by reinstalling 1.6.0 over my sky_03 client my have done something to make the 1.7.0 RC work for me!?
  25. Mouse Bug

    I'm posting this bug here as I'm having the same problem with my mouse cursor on my laptop (2nd in siggy). Background: When I originally installed the 1.6.0 release I didnt have this problem. Then recently I installed the 1.7.0 RC client for testing. I have another problem with 1.7.0 (as stated under that thread) an decided to reinstall 1.6.0. So now whenever the mouse is not moving the cursor disappears only in the EL game window. If I move the mouse the cursor will come on... I'm using the default XP Desktop theme cursor.
