  1. Hey guys :D

     

    I discovered one small bug in the main display:

    If you have opened some windows ingame (like inventory, manu, encyc, etc..) and switching to console-mode and back again, the last selected window isnt on top anymore (above the other windows) so you have to click to make it active again.

  3. I totally agree to Earl and Lobster - its against the community when you have to say "no" to make some fine stuff for a friend, just because you think of your own incoming.

    I never did and i dont want to do so but its really a hard and *expensive* skill...

    So the prices (esp for higher level items) should be higher, just enough to ensure our own living.

    And if they dont want to pay more, its time for us, to show our power :D

    I like the idea of right-clicking to cycle through the most used icons. Also in the inventory window there should be eye, drop, use icons (should be enough, or make them configurable, like teh banned 0n3na suggested).

    Maybe its a good idea to make this for outside the inventory window, too - but Im not sure, cause it would be comfortable to have 'look-action' in inventory windows and 'walk-action' when you move the cursor outside

     

    Highlighted Signposts: good idea

     

    And it would be great if the cursor changes into that object (or abstract object-icon) when you use it or pick it up (like it was made in the LucasGames Adventures like Day of the Tentacle)

    Dentist skill:

    Great - one more book to read (or maybe 2) - but a new profession in EL! (I really, really dont want to go to Tankel, so ..)

    Negative effect: it will speed up the extinction of holy #beavers! :blink:

     

    Walking skill:

    Great, I like the idea watching all newbies crawling over IP in the first 9 months of playing until they have read the book 'walking' and got the 'stand-up-nexus' HRHR

     

    Milking wolves to get milk for chocolate-production:

    also great! I would like to see more wolves in VOTD which wont die in the first 2 seconds after their birth. Wolf-fighters have to milk them first

    (Will there be a new 'milking-skill'?) *shivers*

     

    All things considered, these suggestions would give a total new look to EL -thx for the good laughs :lol:


  9. harvesting should be returned to the way it was. looking blankly at the screen while your character harvests takes away from the big time. If I wanted a game where the only thing to do was fight things, I would have played a first person shooter.  :P

     

    plz, chage harvesting back to the way it was :(

    Agree, this game is going more and more to fighter only game and I dont like this progession at all.

    If you have played EL for a long time then you know that the variety (to do different things like going fighting for 2 hours, then make some swords or shields, essences and potions) is the 2nd most important aspect (right behind the community aspect).

    So I really hope that they will change the harvest time to a more level-based system in which high harvest levels will speed up harvest time _a lot_! Sure there should be some differences for the material you harvest, to allow low harvest level easier access to veggies, fruits and sulfur.


  10. Ohoh nice - some nostalgic feelings coming up by reading this thread :blink:

     

    For almost 1 year, I started playing EL (omg time is really running away...)

    On my first day Entropy awaited me at Newbie Island and told me how to pick flowers - then me and another player (whos name I forgot) sat down and talked with him about some developing stuff, like the transparent windows, that looked quite cool to me.

    My first thought after log in the first time was: wow cute gfx for a free ORPG 0.0

    Then I finished newbie quest and discovered IP for some hours - till I finally got stuck in the upper evil tavern room (didnt know to _use_ the door.. :)

    A nice mod beamed me out finally (I guess it was Colossus), then I started the granny quest and decided to come back next day. Well, the result is known...


  11. Ok, ive tested the translated encyc-files with an older version of the client (not cvs) and there I dont see any random chars across the encyc-window. So I guess, no tag is broken or sth - must have something to do with the new cvs-client...

     

    Oh btw: Can someone tell me where's the new location for the knowledge.lst file?

    At the old location I can't see anything in the knowledge window with the new client.


  12. Hello!

     

    Ive got a problem with my xml-files. On every page of my translated encyc, there are random letters across the window that definetely dont exist in the XML-file!

    As you can see on this screenie, the 'x', 'l', 'e' and 'k' shouldnt be there.

    And yes, I added the line <?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?> line at the top of every xml-file and there are no error messages when I start el.

     

    Any ideas?

  13. 3) some way to dodge your bad event (ie show that the char is not macroing, and is in fact a real person sitting at the keyboard at the time of the event) - let us run from the bees; the rumbling of a cave-in; and give us a chance to turn down the "opportunity" to teleport *please*.

    This is maybe a better idea then a randomly teleporation a few step back! I like it!

     

    and this:

    4) an equal chance to receive a good event (ie. offer of a gift) - same as you have to get a bad event.

    would only be fair!

     

    Really - ppl who are manufacturers or alchemists have a great disadvantage now in the game.

    Besides that I loved sitting in the mine, relaxing by harvesting and chatting with my friends ..

    all gone now and this is sad - takes a great value out of the game IMO B)

    first of all - for me its impossible now to go on in the game with these changes.

     

    I agree here with Piper's suggestion and maybe it would be the easiest one to implement:

     

    To teleport the harvesters after the exp cap some meters away from the ore. That would prevent macroing and doesnt p*ss off honest players.

  15. I agree but we all know, we are some kind of lazy in some kind of ways.. and dont forget the afk-kings..

    to log off and on isnt really fun if you play for 6 hours a day e.g.

     

    I vote for a save-button like [ALT]+ for saving the state in the game.

     

    (sry if you had some discussion before about that - I havent read it)
