It really depends on what lag you might genuinely be experiencing -- FPS or actual latency. I do know that having an FPS of 15 or lower can present some problems. If you use 56k, then that explains a lot of your lag problems. There's.. not really a surefire way to call your problem, so I'd suggest for you to restart, download anti-spyware and anti-virus software, run both, clean any problems you find, then try again.
