lucu Report post Posted December 4, 2004 Hello. Since many members of this forum know a lot about computers, i thought i could find an answer here. - what type of proxy should i use, in order to increase internet speed? - if i'm using proxy, will the server(host) know that i'm using a proxy? some server administrators do not allow connections through proxies; is there any type of proxy that can not be detected at all, so it would look like i'm connecting with the internet directly? freeone3000 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 (edited) I don't think a proxy would increase speed. It would be another running application with at least one more running process, in addition to your internet. Use the one that comes from your ISP/computer, or use a basic one like firefox. The Eternal Lands server does horrible, horrible things to proxies. They will not go through. Edited December 5, 2004 by freeone3000
Caliph Report post Posted December 5, 2004 Well, if he was using the proxy as a cache, then it would increase browsing performance. As far as online gaming and such it would do absolutely nothing. Whether or not it would interfer with anything that I don't know.
