It seems I'm able to connect again w/out going throug a proxy. I was unable to ping/connect via linux or windows w/out doing so.

If you're using linux, setting up an iptables rule to go through a proxy server would get you playing. Here's the easiest way I can think of for windows http://www.socks.nec.com/Download/SocksCapDownload/index.asp Download that. Free for non-commercial use, and will allow you to change servers in like 2 seconds. In fact it's so simple I actually booted into windows for the first time in forever :shame: Will allow you to play, and I've had very good luck with servers in france. You are, however, on your own in finding a socks server. Not hard to find one with google though. *edit: One good item, you run the program, ie. EL.exe, through the program, and only that program runs through the server.

Maybe I'm missing something here. Granted, I do tend to keep to myself in-game and "do my thing", but... MrMind sells Iron Plate for 16k, and Titanium Serps for 8k Plate is 5 leather, 30 iron bars, 6 thread 30 FEs and 2 EFEs Serp is 12 titanium bars, 2 steel bars, 1 serp stone, 7 FEs and 1 EFE Just buying the ingredients from Charn and Madameyes (and NPCs for leather and thread)... 13,376 to make Iron Plate 7498 to make a serp And this is buying from bots at "convenience charge" prices. I can somewhat see the point about crafting items as buying the sum of the parts costs more than what you can sell the whole for, but then again, you can't expect to buy everything at 'retail' price and then sell that for a profit, unless of course the item is unique, but seeing as teleport rings aren't... Make the rings yourself, buy the rest and you should still have a profit, as well as XP for your time. I don't know, maybe it's just me then. Btw, this was written *before* I was in Rich, so no bias thoughts were included.

Can someone explain to me what Mr.Mind does that is considered "wrong"? For the life of me, I can't see it.

I've completed a few searches and didn't find anything relevant, so forgive me if this has been discussed before. I'm using Linux and the official linux client. Seems I've always had this problem that I can't put in an apostrophe or use "quote" marks in the game. Is this just me, or has anyone else encountered this before?

Try doing "ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=~x86 emerge nvidia-kernel nvidia-glx" to install the so called 'unstable' drivers. Make sure if that works to do an "echo "media-video/nvidia-kernel" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords and do the same for nvidia-glx... you may have to create the directory /etc/portage if you haven't already. also, post the output of this "uname -a; ls -lah /usr/src/linux"

Yup, exact command "opengl-update nvidia" Probably easier on gentoo to as root do "/etc/init.d/xdm stop" then "/etc/init.d/xdm start" to stop/start X rmmod (or modprobe -r) nvidia just to make sure no other nvidia module is loaded dmesg just to check for any "unresolved symbols blah blah" piping dmesg though 'tail' should give all the info you'd need (dmesg | tail)

emerge nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx, opengl-update nvidia, exit out of X, rmmod nvidia, modprobe nvidia, check dmesg for any errors, make sure you're using 'nvidia' for the driver for X in the xorg.conf, load X and see the output for "glxinfo | grep rendering"

I read through it, but forgive me if this is already mentioned, but how about some kind of mana conservation skill or whatnot? You cast and it takes your skill in it into account on a roll to maybe reduce the amount of mana used?

I don't get it, maybe because I'm kinda new, but what's with all the dissension against Ent? Only thing I've seen that he's done that could be considered "bad" is that he gives people too many chances. Personally, I think Ent rocks, and if you're ever around Washington, PA hit me up, I'll buy you a beer/shot.
