Works for me I'm using a CVS client though, maybe it's been fixed already. edit: CVS as of Dec 10th
-
You could also put the new files in C:\Documents and Settings\$USERNAME\My Documents\Eternal Lands\updates\1_7_0\maps The folder is owned by the user so Windows shouldn't complain about files being modified. The client uses files in the update folder over the ones it finds in the 'normal' EL folder (where you installed the game).

Probably something is blocking port 2000, on which the main server is running. That could either be an antivirus software, a firewall or your ISP. First of all make sure that client is allowed to make a connection (antivirus and firewall settings). You can also try to connect to the test server, which runs on port 2001 and see if that's working. If you're able to connect to test, probably your ISP is blocking port 2000.

To register on forum: http://www.eternal-lands.com/forum/index.p...Reg&CODE=00 In order to make a character in the game, start the client and hit the 'New Character' button at the login screen.

Umm, you hit the 'New Character' button at the login screen. Then replace 'player' in the window with your desired name (same window as where you put your password).

Should be like this, imho: Note: the Magic Protection Spell increases your Magic Resistance.

http://www.eternal-lands.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=43579 The "recently" added new perk removal stones are for the 'I Eat Dead People' and 'Fast Regeneration' perks.

SiS graphics cards aren't really supported, I think. You could try to enable the 'poor man' option in the options window (Ctrl+o at the login screen - Details Tab).

Very nice work. I'm missing a 'Critical to Hit' column on the armor page though.

Try to connect to the test server (which runs on port 2001), some ISP's seem to block port 2000 (main server). If you can get on the test server, you should contact your ISP.

The crashes are most likely related to your graphics card / chip / driver, so here we go: 1. Some system specs would be nice, especially your graphics chip 2. Update to the latest driver available at your graphics chip vendor 3. If that doesn't help, open the options window at the login screen (ctrl+o) and enable the Poor Man option (details tab) 4. Still no success? Try to rename/move the shaders folder in the EL directory (works for several older ATI cards)
-
Maybe this helps: http://www.eternal-lands.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41922 You could also try the 'standard' stuff like enabling poor_man and disabling all other graphics options directly in the el.ini file located in Documents and Settings\$Username\My Documents\Eternal Lands\main. (use a text editor for that). Also moving/renaming the shaders folder in the EL directory (where you installed the game) seems to work for lots of older radeon cards.
-
Shaders won't be used if the client doesn't find the files. It did work for several people with older ATI cards. Up to you if you want to try it, of course. And of course, close the client, move/rename and then restart the client If it's not helping you can always put the folder back where it belongs anyway. [edit] I think you'd get more attention in the official Mac client bug thread here: http://www.eternal-lands.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44674 You'd have to register first, though.
-
Have you tried to disable and enable the various options in the video and detail tabs of the options window? Seeing that you're using an older ATI card, try renaming/moving the shaders folder in the EL directory.

Yes, BP cape works on critters, too. With the BP cape I'm scoring considerably more high damage hits on creatures (like critical to damage hits, which is basically the same thing as bypassing armor, imo).
-
el.ini should be in ~\Library\Application Support\Eternal Lands\main. Look for the #poor_man option and set it to 1. If that doesn't help, try to move or rename the shaders folder in \Applications\Eternal Lands\ (or where ever you installed EL). Hmm, since you're using Windows and the thread starter is on a Mac, maybe make your own thread? Standard answer: update your graphics driver ^^ Also some system specs would be helpful, especially for the graphics card/chip.

Which version of the driver did you install? And what operating system are you using?

Huhu und Franken ftw! ;D

1. Yup 2. Gampa 3. Male

Also, are you running desktop effects using compiz? That can cause issues some times. And which driver are you using? I think you'll need the proprietary fglrx driver from ATI (Catalyst).
