    For the 4th or 5th RC, I have given the exact same feedback, and have yet to receive any response... This new RC is no different for me... my Stewbaby character is completely invisible in the new client. The only way I know where he is is by the name and health bar. As this laptop is only 8 months old, I would imagine it should be "modern" enough, and I have the latest drivers installed that will install. Video card: Intel 945GM Vendor ID: Intel OpenGL Version: 1.4.0 - Build 4.14.10.4543 Sorry but this is frustrating, as I feel that a valid complaint is being ignored.     Hi... curious results. With both clients, On one character (stewbaby) the whole character is invisible altogether, although I can see the name and health bar. Other characters are all visible completely, as are creatures and textures. Only my character is invisible.     The point you are completely missing is that the 177k of extra exp Ghrae got was exactly that... EXTRA exp. It is experience points he would not have had at all (well he would have had 10% of it) if he wasn't wearing his meds. If Att/Def, Alch or Manu had a 120 item limit, don't you think folks would be prepared to take whatever advantage they could get to advance that skill? Harvesters get told their skill is a "newb skill", yet it is the hardest to level, as harvesting is the only skill that has a limit (plus the maximum exp you can get for a single harvest is around 120exp... depending on rationality), so harvesting exp bonuses are very welcome, and sometimes it is worth paying for the bonuses. You cannot buy experience, but this comes close.   8. Valentines Confusion?

    The point is that in EL there are players from all around the world, and although I say "Happy New Year" at midnight here, it seems to go on forever, because we are GMT +13. While we may get a little tired of hearing the same thing many times, we really have to be tolerant of the "slow people" who only catch up many hours later. So at last, someone in game (even if it is a bot) acknowledges that there are time differences for players... and you whine... as Spleen said - Get over it!     Um... ever consider that you may just be unlucky? I have broken one alembic of the original 5 I made... on the third day after the books were released (3 days to read the Cinnabar mining, alembic making and merc extraction books) and I have extracted > 10k of Mercury in that time. For every tale of woe, wailing and gnashing of teeth, there are many who quietly get on with it and make their commercial decisions based on their own experiences. Good luck, Stewbaby
  12. Attributes cap for the main server

    I have to say that it would be absurd to introduce a cap that would make me... a miner/harvester who has NEVER hit another player or been hit by another player in any map... into a pinnacle predator due to high p/c. I have no interest in any attributes but P/C/W, and once they were maxed, I could consider I had "clocked the game". I like what Moe said ("if it ain't broke, don't fix it"), and I would even go as far as to say that to introduce a cap to try to make the game more nice for PKers may not make the PKers happy, but it will distribute the unhappiness evenly. I vote "NO". I also somewhat dislike the way the poll is stated, as it appears that either you vote "Yes" and are a sane, well-balanced individual... or you vote "No" and are an ignorant n00b fluent in l337 and nothing else. Not exactly an unbiased presentation. Still, I am but one Stewbaby in a sea of other babies. Cheers, Stewbaby
  13. Update issues

    I installed as per the instructions, including sound, and despite all the scary posts of the last few months about Laptops with integrated Intel graphics not being supported... I have PERFECT gameplay!!! (well, as near as you can get on a laptop) Only problem I had was with the counters and spellbars... I followed the instruction to put them in a /data directory, when they should have been in "my documents" (a MS constraint I have successfully avoided being chained to since 1993 when MS introduced it in W95beta... until now!). Anyway... full steam ahead, and I install the linux version under Ubuntu Gutsy in the weekend. Thanks Ent and other developers/testers. Stewbaby
  14. #invasion command and warnings?

    I like this idea... after logging in and after 10 minutes in the game with no warning, walking into the mouth of a Black Dragon in Idaloran, then today being online 13 minutes with no GIWS announcements at all, then seeing an "Invasion is Over" message. Given that we paid for GIWS initially, and still contribute to keep it going, perhaps this could be extended to give 5 minute updates, or mybe even tell someone when they log in.   16. Which was your biggest project ever?

    Well, my project before last was to make 500 of each C1 ring... harvesting and making all ingreds myself. Then 5k each of SR, FP and BR (almost all by myself... a bit of meat donated by Matty27) Now... 1k each of Iron Sword, Steel Long Sword and S2E. Requires 160k of FE, 220k of coal and 370k of iron ore. May take a couple of days ;^) Next I want to make 1k of cabbages.

  19. What Graphics Card specs for 1.40 Client?

    Um... will the new features be available for users of laptops with recent Intel graphics chipsets? I only bought this laptop a few short months ago, and I can neither upgrade the video nor can I afford a new laptop each time the game moves forward. I would really like to continue to meet with the folks I have met and interacted with in the EL community, and am not looking forward to being excluded through stringent hardware requirements. Peace,
  20. My 3 month old laptop supports the "bare minimum" and as I have just got it... I don't see me getting another to play a free game. Disappointing but that is life.

    Gee... are we not all so glad you didn't want to "come off whiny" or anything. I am sure that you succeeded in that goal almost as well as your search for the new stones. I guess you must really hate folks like me too... cos I was lucky enough to make only 17 SRs and get an EMP (Potioning being one of only 2 skills I have less than 30) . I guess newbs like me don't deserve luck in your book, and perhaps we should only qualify for these elements of luck when we are an OA over 80... oh, wait on... I am... maybe over 100. I say... get a life and keep on playing. Some folks are lucky and others are not... your turn may be coming.
