  1. Click Walking Bug

    FYI, My setup is: - Club 3D R9600XT (on AGP) - nForce2 motherboard - Gentoo - kernel 2.6.7 - ati-drivers 8.8.25 - Gnome 2.8.2 - X.org 6.8.0 (-r14) ...and no walking except when ctrl+right-click. -darcus
  2. How to walk

Hi, FYI, I use Gnome 2.8.x with metacity and have the problem of walking. -darcus
  3. Linux GL Related Problem

Anyone? Anyone? Yes I am (2.6 kernel, Xorg 6.8.0, ATi 8.8.25, Gnome 2.8). -darcus
  4. Linux GL Related Problem

Me too. The same problem (both!). If you find anything that helps on this flashing issue, I'd be happy to get some feedback. How about your avatars legs? I see my (and others) legs disappear now and then. -darcus
  5. Linux GL Related Problem

I'd say that there is something 'wrong' with your installation. I myself have a ATi R9600XT running on a Gentoo box with 8.8.25 drivers and Xorg 6.8.0. In my setup the direct rendering is YES. I got EL to work nicely also with 3.14.x and Xorg 6.7.0. What FPS do you get with glxgears? With incorrect setup (DR: no), I get some 300FPS (three hundred), but now (DR: yes) some 2100+*. I'd say you should get something like 1600+ atleast. Also, have you done #opengl-update ati -darcus *) Yes, I know glxgears is not a benchmark SW.
  6. How to walk

Could be. The fglrx driver supports it so I'm happy. Not flicker-free-happy but happy. :-) -darcus
  7. Click Walking Bug

Hello, Did some testing. I'm sure I'm using the walk icon. I can left-click the icons and choose eg. the use icon. And as you said, the icon changes to walk icon and then nothing happens. If I have the walk icon and point on a door, the avatar starts to move as I would expect; moving to the house. If I press anywhere else, nothing happens. I'm using a three button Logitech USB mouse. -darcus
  8. Click Walking Bug

Hello, I have the same click and move problem. Ctrl+right click works for me, but is pretty annoying. My specs are Gentoo, 2.6 kernel, ATi 8.8.25, Xorg 6.8.0. The same issue was also with ATi 3.14.x and Xorg 6.7.0. -darcus
  9. How to walk

Hi, An update on where I am. I installed now xorg 6.8.0 + ATi drivers 8.8.25. The flickering is still there, but not that bad as before. Left clicking with mouse does nothing and I can only move with ctrl+right-click. -darcus
  10. How to walk

My card is a ATi Radeon 9600 XT and it works nicely with eg. Doom3 and NWN. I'm using 3.14.6 drivers with xorg 6.7.0. The 8.8.25 drivers should work nicely with xorg 6.8.0 but as an Gentoo user I like to stick with non-~x86 packages. ...Except for EL. :-) Does your EL run nicely without the polygons flickering on the screen? -darcus
  11. How to walk

Uh that's the tough one. In theory yes, but there is newer version available. Though ATi and 3D on Linux has not been the best buddies. On my machine 3D works nicely in eg. Doom3 and enemy-territory, but the game with the issues is EL. :-( I tried to look through the forums but could not find any good pointers on this issue. -darcus
  12. How to walk

Dang, Ctrl+right click works (left click does nothing). Another question (probably could be in another topic but... I'm a n00b), my trees and objects are having HEAVY flickering. Looks like something that the z-buffering of the object faces does not work correctly. Is this a feature in EL or a bug in my drivers...? -darcus
  13. How to walk

Hello, Yes, I'm clicking on the ground and the FPS is aroung 58-60. -darcus
  14. How to walk

Hello, I think I should be able to walk when I have the 'walk' icon on my mouse and I click on the screen. Right? When I try that, nothing happens. The only movement I get is with HOME key. I'm running EL 1.0.1, Linux (2.6 kernel), xorg and an ATi card Any help is appreciated. -darcus
