  1. Quartz Help...

Don't harvest quartz. Ever. Never ever. Never ever ever? Not even then. Quartz is usefull for a couple of things; Potions, Essences and Vials. But considering how cheap they are to buy from Harvy there is really no point in running tiresome runs between CC and Storage just to gather quartz (time that could be spent on running things that would pay for quartz much faster than it could be harvested).
  2. What a deluge of Tibians we have here.
  3. client crashing for nvidia users

I crash both in full screen and windowed, though it appears that I crash slightly less in full screen. I often crash when trying to switch from windowed to full screen also, and only in areas with a lot of people. VOTD storage is one trouble spot.
  4. Racism

Well, I think politics should be kept as far away from a game as possible, though these kind of things do interest me I have only noticed the rapid decay of online communities where politics and religion have become dominant topics of discussion. Racism of any form is completely inexcusable and one of the most disgusting traits of mankind, ofcourse I have my fair share of prejudice (a lot of it aimed at the US of A ) so I am quite aware that it's an aspect that is present in most people and is hard if not impossible to repress. But in instances such as this, an online community where people from all over the world come together to leave their real lives behind for a few moments and have a spot of fun, it should be carefully monitored and, if there is no other way around it, also punished. Regarding what Jride posted, I am quite familiar with the game he is Head Moderator of and I have to hand it to you it's one of the most zealously moderated and censored games I have ever come across. Cussing in even the mildest of forms can be punished, debates on politics and religion are constantly being locked on the forums, complaints towards the game is immediatley thrown into a separate forum that noone ever reads and is well hidden at the bottom of the forum list, advertising other games is not allowed and well, the list goes on... The result? Well, definetly one of the friendliest communities I've ever come across and even though it does get on your nerves how fanaticly the rules are being enforced it does have a lot of positive effects, I've been playing the game for a few years and I intend on continuing to do so. I am not sure if going that way would be the best thing for Eternal Lands since it's great to be able to speak openly about sensitive subjects and so forth but I think we can all agree that racism is a disgusting thing that should not be accepted in any society or community.
  5. client crashing for nvidia users

I've done some testing on this. My system : AMD Athlon XP 2000+ (1.67GHz) 256 MB Ram NVidia GeForce2 MX/MX 400 Running on Win XP. Now, prior to switching to the 45.33 drivers I would get constant crashes, in particular in crowded areas (and very often when particle effects were happening [ie. bags disappearing, people logging in/out]), before downgrading my drivers I tried playing around with the screen and client resolutions, originally I was running on screen resolution 1024x768x32 with the client on 640x480x32, this worked fine untill the update with the guild tags upon which it became highly unstable. I then switched down my monitor resolution to 640x480x16 and ran the client in the same resolution, this was also quite unstable though it did seem to reduce the crashes by some but was so hideously ugly I upped the monitor and client to 800x600x32 which was a significant improvement, crashes became much less frequent, this may also have been because I disabled shadows and clouds. After this I downgraded my drivers to 45.33 and ran this for about a week suffering only 2 crashes compared to the 8-10 crashes I had on my original setup. Still, 800x600 is a pretty nasty resolution and I was forced to go back to 1024x768x32 - for both client and monitor, and after this my crashes became more frequent again. Not extremely frequent but I crashed twice on the first day of using this resolution, always in crowded areas. This is not a complaint or a cry for help since I am quite comfortable with the current setup, I can take a few crashes now and then, but hopefully it will be of some help to you.
