  1. I 100% support raising gold drops from monsters. But for a cost of replacing makeable (only makeable) items for extra gold drops (in the approximate value of the item of course), so you can buy armor/weapon from players, which is truly MMO then.

  2. Here's an idea to add a dimension to summoning.

If you're a high lvl summon and you summon a lower range thing, it should have a very small chance of picking up a combat perk:

    (*)MagpieLee summoned a Rat

(*)MagpieLee summoned a Rat with the Fatal Man Perk

    (*)MagpieLee summoned a Rat

    (*)MagpieLee summoned a Rat

    etc.

Other perks include body piercing, fatal man, self destruct, I glow in the dark, There is no Fork, Evanescence and Mirror Skin.

Eventually if you have high lvl summoning, a polar bear, fluffy rabbit, armed orc will have mirror skin or whatever.

    Any comments?

Imagine fluffy with mirror skin, evil! :P

    Anyway, nice idea.

  3. Just a question, I don't mean it badly (although it may sound like that)

Manufacturers need 7 PP for titanium axe

Fighters need 7 PP for thermal serpent

Crafters need 9 (4 artific, 5 magic) PP for RoP

Why shouldn't summoners need 7 PP for arctic? (or maybe 6 and 7 for giant)

I am just asking as a curious person, please don't flame me.

  4. Well, you can always have a fair fight using another thermal serp or asking for your opponent to not use his/her.

I ask: how many people obey this in PKmaps? And how many people seathe their weapons to have fair fights?

Reply to Zaer below (as I did not want to proceed more off-topic): we are not living in a knight age do we? I would like to see honor too, it's just it, that nowadays, people use their best to beat their opponents (I speak in general). This fair-fights are by my opinion a privilege of top fighters, not the all fighters. From what Lorck has said, I found that he think, all people should act like that (which is honorable and I agree with that), but that is very difficult to achieve (nigh impossible IMO).

  5. In your previous posts you reffered also to leather armor and iron sword. In is my believe that these items also should be removed. Items that cannot be manufactured might stay as drops.

100% correct. I said all makeable items. Are wooden shields/staves/hammers makeable? NO si the answer, so they should stay as a drops. The point is to make some demand for makeable items, while keeping the money to the people so they can afford buying things from other players. What is the point of making items now, if monster drops chainmails and weapons?

And when people take antisocial perk? Hell, it's a NEGATIVE perk, not 10PPs for free, if they take it, they have to either learn to live with it or reset. I wonder why people always cry about negative perks.

  6. Again, if someone ask me to not use a special weapon to fight them because they cant afford, i dont use it against that person. I like to have fair fights, not unbalanced like the branch users want, because they simply are too coward to fight a balanced fight.

Not everbody is fighting like you do, so we are back at honor during PK. But from what you posted, if I lead it to extreme and exaggerated way, everybody who would not fight with equal equipment on PK (and with even amount of inventory items as well), all these would be considered outlaws then. Of course this is exaggerated, but it's not completely off the point.

Branch is a dilemma, but if it's here, it must be here for a purpose, or am I wrong? And what purpose it's supposed to be then? :)

  7. (e.g.: monster is supposed to drop steel chain (let's say 700gc value) mail and some coins (let's say 1-20gc), instead of that, the monster could drop 701-720gc, so fighters will have money to satisfy their needs, while producers will be happy to sell their things too, what do you think?)

But no monster drops steel chain every time.

So, your example should be 1-720gc, correct? Or 1-20 with random chance of 700gc bonus?

Of course not. I said it as an example. It is supposed to be 1-20gc with random chance of extra gold bonus. Capes cannot be made (except fur of course :)), so they should remain the same as they are, and less book drop will be also needed (and also desired IMHO). But basic gold drops should be 50-100% chance and they should be raised a bit.

So, your example should be 1-720gc, correct? Or 1-20 with random chance of 700gc bonus?

    I don't think he's dumb :)

You can never be sure. :)

  8. Every action is judged by something we could name "society moral code."

If bagjumping/scamming/stealing/whatever is considered a bad thing by large majority of community, it is then outlawish.

If usage of the branch/bone will be considered a bad thing by large majority of community, it should aslo be outlawish. hence we are missing the poll badly...

(but this will result in even more flamy outlaws section :))

  9. So, if you dont have honor dont comment about honor issues, ok?

This, I could take as a personal insult.

I have never bagjumped, never scammed, never interrupted PvP, never lured anyone to PK, never even sweared to anyone, and you are saying that I have no honor, just because I am in a guild where I have friends who like to teamplay? Pure prejudice...

However I will not take this as a personal insult, for I believe that these were rash words...

I am posting my posts to develop discussion and broaden aspects of it. Keep that in mind please.

(note to Kalach: through constructive arguments comes the best results, I am opposing you, because you seem to be wise, so the discussion may evolve in a good way...)

Team play is different to invite someone to have a fair fight and then call 2 people with +30/+45 a/d than you him to kill you. Its just outright scam.

And i agreed i was too harsh saying that, if you are not trully an outlaw i apologize for that, but that does not mean some of your guild mates are not.

And for the topic is simple: if you want to destroy items, you are not a fighter but a vandal and no-good doer. Therefore outlaw section is fair for you.

Well, by teamplay, I meant guild projects, not fighting (check my A/D, I am not a figter at all). However I agree on above statement that this cannot be considered a fair fight (but I have no info about it, so I cannot judge it)

If they are truly outlaws, there is not much I can do unfortunately. (on off-topic conversation, we can use forum PMs, okay?)

I wonder why there is no poll here to just show overall meaning. And there is also a question, which should be answered, for I find it essential to this discussion: If it is truly as nasty as you say, why was it added at all? If it was tested before it was added, why there were no complaints then? This could save a lot of flames and grief to all of fighters IMHO...

  11. Not fair, people do what they like in the game...

And what if they like to destroy items? If they have an option in branch to do so, why wouldn't they use it I wonder...

The branch must be here for a purpose, why else would it be here...

Note: but the branch has too high damage, if it would deal only 1-2 damage, maybe that may help in decreasing its usage. (same goes for bone)

  12. I totally agree on increasing gold drops and slightly decreasing spawn time, more spawns would come in handy too.

I would also suggest complete removal of manufacturable items for drops. this could be replaced by extra gold drop (in the approx value of undropped item) so fighters will be forced to buy it from other players (and they will be able to afford it)

  13. As I stated above, I see no reason, why PKing should be profitable. However I agree that monster-hunters (I divide fighters into two groups: monster-hunters and PKers, just to make it clear) are not receiving enough gold coin drops from monsters to cover your expenses, unfortunately, that is economic problem on the other hand there is another thread for it, no need to discuss it here.

(I suggested more GC (perhaps some %chance of extra gold drop) drop and less manuable item drops (this does not include cloaks!) (to encourage market between makers and fighters) many times there)

  14. idc what u guys suggest, i just dont wanna do anything besides training/pk rofl

Wtf this, jezebell with full tit plating (i heard) and she doesnt even fight

just for the looks? give it to me then, u may look at it when ever u want.

    *sighs* whats with you, fighters?

Just coz Im more a lover then a fighter doesnt mean I should go dressed in rags now, should I? ^^

I have been asked before why do fight bears (for their meat, even tho im a vegetarian..) in full plate?

Well, the answer is simple..the brown leather dont suit me,, thats why!

Even tho I dont fight much, i wanna look good..and for the record..it was a steel set I was wearing!

I dont realy like the look of titanium armour much..lol

get a grip, fighters..this World is NOT all about you guys..

    *hugs*

    Jez

You are playing MMORPG, the last three letters mean ROLE PLAYING GAME. Let's focus on the ROLE PLAYING part, ok? ROLE PLAYING means you can play some role, you seem fit to you. If Jezebelle wants to play noble merchant lady, worn in full plate, what's wrong with it?

And I think this dilemma is hard to solve. There is never-ending war between fighters and rest. Ad profit: yes, alchemy may be profitable, but did you count time unit needed for it? First you need to harvest resources, which takes approx 2/3 of time, depending on what you are mixing (metal bars need even more time to harvest), for which you don't get any money at all. Then you have to mix it and hoping that someone will buy it. Same goes with potions. Don't you dare to say that manufacture is profitable. Look at my manufacture ranking, you'll see that I am not a beginner in this, yet I do that for fun of creation, not money (I hardly get some lousy goldies for it). So the only pure-profitable skill is harvesting. But you can see, there is balance between XP and money. If you train (not PK), you receive decent amount of XP, if mix, you get less XP and some money, if you harvest, you can get max (approx) 9-11k of XP/hour, but good money for it.

So here it goes, either money, or XP, you can't have both. FIghters have to rely on the rest of the guild to provide them support, this encourages teamplay. If you wish to be privateer fighter, why do you play MMO then? This is about teamplay, you need us (the mixers) as inflow of items, we need you (the fighters) as a outflow of items. But you must differ between PKer and monster-hunter. Monster-hunters deserve some profit, while PKing is just showtime of skills IMO (going to PK is optional, so you cannot expect infinite inflow of "free walking items", can you?).

  15. Players find the new formulae, normally entire guilds go mixing random items until they are found.

it can get difficult though if there is like 1 weird item in the ingreds no one would ever try, or let's say 50fe, who in godsname will try 1fe, 2fe, 3f, ... 50fe?

1,2,3,5,10,25,50,100,250,500,1000 is usually a decent starting pattern, if you're sure FE would be involved, and the other person is not trying to be purposefully obtuse.

Did you possibly tried to find a correct formula for for example c2 telering you didn't know the recipe? This is insane! :(
