  1. The "Evil Castle"

Random names could do ofcourse, but if you've got two castles, one's called Evil Castle, the other Boooring Castle (or wutever), and the names would be like Iklialoingal and Bragalyk, I can't see the relationship between them (like in English)... And ofcourse, it's cool to see how two languages (elvish and orcish of example) have words which relate a bit to eachother. (So, castle in Elvish could be Daraleg, while in Orcish it'd be Torolash) You know, I'll just put up the things I'd do: 1. Create a motherlanguage - just a few simple words with some sort of system behind the vocals and consonants. 2. Derive the other languages from that language - I've got a system which shows me how sounds change over time 3. Make up some names, in the motherlanguage. 4. Two types of names in the newer languages - one that's derived from the words in that particular language, the other where the names are derived from the motherlanguage - creating a bit different names altogether. 5. Take orders for new names Err, Killer I didn't really read your idea's about 'prophecies' at all, I just ran into that site (posted it already, you even asked me for it) and I thought it might be a nice idea for the game...
  2. LLAMATHISM!!!!!

Hehh... Tumaros, you're serious? I had that a while ago, but I must say the n00bish questions faded alot since then. Haven't got a 'Can you give me a sword pls?'-like question since november or something. Maybe it's my timezone... o.0 And JJK asked a good question... I haven't seen Nardo in ages... Nor did I see you, Tumaros, Thalos or Aira at the roleplaying section >.< I can't roleplay HML on my own, you know?!
  3. The "Evil Castle"

I could do the whole language for you. It seems naming languages are the most easy to make, so I'll probably be fine I just need some basic info, like how each race's names will sound (agressive, mystic, smooth, short, long, ...). I'd say dwarves would have a bit 'strong' language, not as strong as the orcs and minotaurs, but stronger than the humans. Elves should have soft and smooth names, while the centaurs have a mystical language. (Just something I noticed... People seem to be calling me 'Geeleef' Just like to point out it's Geelef with one e in the end No offense.)
  4. COOKIES

I presume you found that on some site... Tell me what it is... I need to know, so I can sue the makers for making me laugh all day
  5. Open Source Map Editor

Jah, I know, but still, it'd save me alot of time Just clicking away madly when I'm trying to make a decent jungle...
  6. The "Evil Castle"

I don't really mind the name. But (huge but) if we're gonna change it, I'd say do it properly. Few of you may have read my kinda useless suggestion about languages, but come to think of it, a mere naming language would be nice. So the places, castles, taverns and such could have really unique names. (And if you're gonna change the name of the Evil Castle into something English, it'll still sound cheesy You'll probably use something out of another language (Latin or Greek most likely)) Heh, I just can't let go of that language thingy
  7. Stupid ass facts

You know, actually I don't really care what happens if all the Chinese jump at the same time... They won't be stupid enough to do it
  8. COOKIES

*focroflmao* OMFG that was funny... It made my stomach ache... Nice going jjk.
  9. Real Life Names...

Dammit, I was dying to see were you lived Roja! Now I still don't know where to take evil pictures of you with a bad hairdo...
  10. Travel Prices

So basically, you would charge people to use the boats. I've come to think about it a bit more, and I kinda think the idea is good, as long as the prices aren't too high. Prices should depend on the distance, so WSC - IP costs less then WSC - Portland You could always walk to the certain map if you think the price is too high (good excuse for IP - WSC to be free), if you don't wanna die because of goblins, then just pay the cash. (It shouldn't be much tough, maybe like 10 gp per kilometer or something, easily counted with the coords)
  11. Real Life Names...

Since we all are giving ourselves away; here goes: EL Name: Geelef RL: Gijs Direks (I figured I'd put my last name here too, you only have to check my mail adress to find that one out) Location: Bunde, Netherlands Age: 15; about to be 16 Status: Happy Single
  12. Travel Prices

I think Killer meant a new Island, where you get teled to once you completed the newbiecourse...
  13. Some Fresh Ideas

Especially the sound of a newb going *splat* makes me want to have golems o.0
  14. Diary of a common man

Wai! I'm gonna make some changes in names, edit out the spelling errors and see where I can improve the story a bit more. Any suggestions would be nice Smart, Thanks!
  15. Umm LOOK HERE

Err... I wouldn't take it away... If you come to think of it, almost any icon isn't used anymore. There are shortcuts, or standard actions. How about we remove all buttons except the stand/sit one? Nah, just let it be... A new icon is easily added.
  16. belts/boots

Cool... Now I'm even more curious.. Didn't think that could happen o.0
  17. Death on EL

Won't there? I haven't heard about them in a long while... At first (really long ago) we didn't, due the chars being MD2. But I think I recall someone (prolly Roja) saying there would be horses afterall. But what the status is now? I've got no idea...
  18. Death on EL

Nah, why would you delete beaming then? If you want to trade with someone, just meet in an Inn, or both teleport to a certain place using a spell. Doesn't sound too bad, right?
  19. The Spoils of Christmas

Is that 50-60 in MPH? Because that would mean something like *grabs his calculator and starts hitting buttons wildly* 80-96 km/h.. OMG- that's fast o.0 Better call it a motorcycle then...
  20. shops

There is a flowerstore in White Stone City. It's the most north dot on the map (kinda forgot what color it has, I think purple or pink). You can sell furs in Tree Town - some NPC stands in front of a treehouse, near T-road (the one in the middle I think)
  21. belts/boots

Damnit, now I'm curious! I've got heaps of snake skins in the storage, so I'm dying to know what they're used for...
  22. Vacation! Woot :P

I'm on vacation for about a week. I'm off this evening, and I wont be back till after Christmas. FYI; I'm gonna snowboard in Ishgl, Austria, so if you're there, join me *If I read your post before I leave that is * Now, I just gotta do the 'Hah! I'm on vacation and you aren't! Looooooosers!' thingy. Here I go: *dances around, spins three times, points just at you and shouts:* 'Hah! ! I'm on vacation and you aren't! Loooooooser!' Anyway, I'm off! Have a nice Christmas! Gee.
  23. Vacation! Woot :P

Maybe we were meant to be bound together somehow... Although our bond is broken the moment I post this... Does that mean we weren't meant to be bound together afterall? Or does it mean we should've been bound together for a short while? I didn't feel any different though...
  24. Starting error

Could be. Download the latest drivers for your videocard, if the game still doesn't work properly redownload and reinstal it. (Make sure you've got subdirectories like sound or maps, not all the files in one folder)
  25. Languages

OK; most of you prolly wont like it, but I still gotta suggest it. Today I was surfing on the net, and I bumped into this site about 'making your own language'. I kinda skimmed through the most of it, and I was pretty interested. Now, I was thinking, how about we create a language for EL? Not too complicated, just a few dozen (maybe 100-300) words, which can be used ingame. Some for new items, names for NPC's, others replacing normal words (like Elf wont be Elf but something else ) It'll require loads of work though, and most of the newbs wont know what the hell the older players are talking about, but it would increase the game's feeling alot. Maybe have a setting in the ini-file, language = # 0 would be normal, English language, NPC names would be normal, they'd talk English, item's would be named in English etc. Also, common words used in the 'new' language are translated into English again (so if someone types the ELword for Elf that would be translated back to Elf by the client) 1 would be EL language, NPC's talk mainly English, only some EL words slip through (enough to get a good feeling, not enough to really confuse the player), items would be named in ELlanguage, NPC's would get ELnames etc. This is ofcourse a bit harder to read, but gives loads more feeling to the game. There should be a list of words on the site that are used alot (like sword = x, gloves = x etc) so you can look words up that you don't understand. Ofcourse, the setting in the ini-file would be standard 0, so newbies don't get too confused. Just a suggestion, I can't promise I can do it, but I'll try. Maybe with some help it'll work out great. Tell me what you think.
