So the only thing left to complain about now is that people who spent a lot of pp's in nexuses get an disadvantage? Could this be solved by taking 1 pp from every nexus a player has spent pp's in and free them before this update goes in? In this way people who has spent pp's in all nexuses gets 6 pp's to replace and people who for example has spent pp's in 2 nexuses gets 2 pp's to replace. This would benefit all people, esp. those who spent a lot of pp's in nexuses. edit: spelling

It seems like the players that are against this day is the ones who fight once in a while and eventually will reach a+d >= 120. What if it were raised so that maybe you'll need a+d >= 150 (or maybe even higher) to be PKable? Then the ones affected by it would probably be the ones interested in fighting as you'll have to train a fair amount to reach that a+d. /Enki

I had the same problem under FreeBSD, it seems like the file was named incorrectly (stonebrick1.E3D or something) As Linux/*NIX care about uppercase/lowercase it fails to open the file. If you rename it everything seems to be working. /Enki

Are you sure that you are running the drivers from nvidia and not the one that comes with X/xorg? Check your X config file (mine is /etc/X11/xorg.conf) and look for: Section "Device" The line: Driver "nvidia" should be there, if it says: Driver: "nv" you are using the wrong driver. Just edit it to "nvidia" in that case. Then restart X and it *should* work /Enki

Hey Shadowwalker chill out! These things happen with computers you know I think we should be happy that backups are being done this often anyway

I have downloaded the zip and have unzipped it to my el folder. I then built latest CVS on my FreeBSD 7.0-CURRENT i386 which has got a nvidia card and nvidia drivers version 8178 I compiled elc with -DBSD -DELC -DPNG_SCREENSHOT -DNETWORK_THREAD -DNOTEPAD -DNEW_WEATHER -DNEW_FRUSTUM -DBUG_FIX_3D_OBJECTS_MIN_MAX -DNEW_TEX I run with no high-tech stuff on and with poor man btw. The problem I have is that the client crashes every now and then, I guess its not really random but it seems like it is. #0 0x286133d7 in pthread_testcancel () from /usr/lib/libpthread.so.2 [New Thread 0xb3a9200 (sleeping)] [New Thread 0xb36ec00 (sleeping)] [New Thread 0xb36ea00 (LWP 100082)] [New Thread 0x8fed000 (LWP 100080)] (gdb) where #0 0x286133d7 in pthread_testcancel () from /usr/lib/libpthread.so.2 #1 0x286027f6 in sigaction () from /usr/lib/libpthread.so.2 #2 0x285fc831 in pthread_kill () from /usr/lib/libpthread.so.2 #3 0x285fc1fa in raise () from /usr/lib/libpthread.so.2 #4 0x286ce8a0 in abort () from /lib/libc.so.6 #5 0x28673673 in _UTF8_init () from /lib/libc.so.6 #6 0xbfbfe826 in ?? The "right" way to do this is to add some flags in the Makefile.. -L/usr/local/lib -I/usr/local/include and it should find the header files and the libs.. /Enki

I have the same problem here using FreeBSD.. I have noticed that sometimes it just works after some amount of time..so that if you sit and wait a while at the NPC it suddenly works The bad thing is that sometimes NPCs as Raven quit working too after some time Seems to be most problem with molgor though..I don't know if the amount of ppl around him matter - I've had the same problem both with and without the crowd. /Enki

Ok. I have had some problems with my nvidia driver when running linux-opengl apps as root. After running certain linux apps the opengl quits working correctly and all applications trying to use it (FreeBSD and linux ones) just segfaults. I did the following: rm /compat/linux/dev/nvidiactl reboot Then try to run el again as non-root Hope it helps! /Enki

Are you sure that you have all the required files? unzip the linux client zipfile from the el-website and try to run it from inside that directory.
-
I can run the native FreeBSD binary without problems.. Just gmake -f Makefile.bsd as you said dangph and make sure -DBSD is in it. Also make sure that you dont compile with -DNEW_FRUSTUM..it segfaults for me. When you have compiled it just put the binary in the directory where you unzipped the linux-package and run
