Combat Level - not as complex as was thought

Recommended Posts

My Merry Winter Solstice gift... after an incredible amount of testing:

Combat Level = ATTACK + DEFENSE + PHYSIQUE + COORDINATION

Overthinking it led to the complex attempts at CL calculating that never quite worked.

The confusion was that Physique and Coordination affected all of the cross attributes used in the previous attempts at a CL calculation. People having different levels of other attributes that affected those same cross attributes just added to the confusion.

A lot of testing came to the above simple calculation being what was actually happening.

Full details of the entire testing process and how I came to this calculation, eliminating the use of cross-attributes, are in this PDF.
You know, should you want to try and disprove the result, you can see where I went wrong. ;-)

Nice discovery! You are the first to create this theory since you published it. I thank you for all the contributions you make to EL, whether it be official updates or EL-DB updates! I love updates so much, its like a big hit of dopamine which is very rare!
