The game keeps crashing

Recommended Posts

The game keeps crashing on me. I can't play more than an hour and it crashes. Sometimes it crashes after only 10 minutes of playing. Half the time the message "Skip! Speeding up ..." is displayed right before it crashes.

Is it just me, or others have the same problem?

I suspect it has something to do with the new server. I am new here. The first day went without any problems, but on my second day the crashes started.

That "Skip! Speeding up..." indicates your computer cannot keep up with what the server sends it

(in detail: the graphics cannot be rendered fast enough).

You seem to have a graphics card that provides the required functions (as the game starts).

Without knowing more about your system it's hard to go beyond generic advice.  But a common

cause of problems are outdated graphics drivers. Make sure you have the latest, and that you

get them from the GPU manufacturer (the drivers from your distribution can be more or less outdated).

Have you checked the log files for a clue?  Which package are you using? The main page download, deb, flatpak, snap or your own build?

PROBLEM SOLVED

It was indeed a performance issue. As revi indicated, my computer could not keep up with what the server sent it.

Another symptom I had is that the game was crashing whenever rain started.

So, in GFX Settings I disabled 1)Shadow mapping 2)Reflections 3)Weather effects, and now I play for hours without any crashes.

Thanks for your help.
