Daggers

Titanium short: Could use a major rework. It looks really bulky, certainly not useful as a weapon. I've always imagined a short sword as something like this, or this (Highlander :pickaxe: ). The titanium short doesn't look like these at all in my opinion.

 

Daggers: Would be a cool addition. Chance for lethal backstab ^^

Something that short and light should have a chance for a double hit. And you would think accuracy would be a bit more..not to hard to hit at such close combat.

 

I am a supporter of variety so the more weapons, the more fun. :P

Or stilleto for tickling enemy's eyeballs :P

 

 

2x damaged for first attack roll out of invis :pickaxe:

And ambidexterity, one in each hand :pickaxe: (rogues)

 

I vote yes on and variety, not just for new things, but for things that

widen the combat palette. We need more variety but not (Ice Dragon Armor of

cooldown removal or Orc Slayer of Thermal lol, Ultimate overpowered sword of

game unbalance )

daggers / throwing knives

 

throwing knives would be nice , allready got the ranging skill for them ........

IMO, gives these weps little damage and very high acc. alot of people don't use the the iron sword -> ti long in PK; but more or less in training. a little wep with 2-4 dmg and 10+ acc or so would be a great training sword, and even dual-wielded PK daggers for those people you can't hit. i have no clue how hard/easy it would be to code, but would be very nice addition to the game.. (maybe even thermal/fire/ice/magic daggers in teh future :D )

E.G.

Training Dagger Steel: +7 acc, 1-4 damage. +2 def

PK Dagger Steel: 10+ acc 5-10 dmg +2 crit to dmg

 

Training Dagger Titanium: +8 acc 2-6 damage, +3 def.

PK Dagger Titanium: +11 acc 7-12 damage. +3 crit to dmg

and you would hit you enemy for 1-2 damage.

Tit dagger: 15-20 damage, +2 accuracy, +12 crit to damage.

 

Double crit to damage when invisible.

daggers will have less damage, but this is dependant on:

A dagger in each hand (ambidex), with both

daggers hitting for damage each attack roll.

 

But this is more dependent on the combat system altered to have

varying attack speeds. Currently a halberd strikes as fast as a rapier.

 

This change would allow more heavy damage weapons, with speed penalties

and make items like rapiers far more interesting.

technically i cannot start a guild called Dagger Sect if there are no daggers. they should be dropped from wicked poisonous scorpions.

(opinion. don't confuse it with anything else)

Newest post from that search list is 3 years old, oldest 6 years old.

 

Perhaps if an idea keeps returning, its a sound idea that old and new players

apparently agree on. This indefinite moratorium on any ideas, ever, in any form, to be repeated,

is silly. Anything anyone post here, is not required to be fielded by any developer, just

wishful thinking from some excited players. (several things have been repeated, and implemented as a

result, take -no drop map- for instance)

 

The name of this section is just that, suggestions, not demands or imperatives. I believe this section

should only serve as 'food for thought', if any developer associated with the game, wants to read it.

 

Remove this section, replace it with a idea system that has improved searching,

and can tag ideas (*daggers *new capes *etc), categorize things. Or outline a presentation

system, some template, that all future idea posters can follow. Or require a person to complete

a application to to be allowed to post ideas, an advocate system.

Hm, except the first post is from Roja saying there will be a dagger classification one day.. so be patient, k?

Generally I would imagine that if Roja wanted daggers by now, they would be here.

Not only that, but she mentioned them personally in one of those threads, so obviously the idea HAS been seen, has been considered, and will come if and when she wants them.

Having multiple people spam the same idea because they don't search first isn't going to make her deem them any more important or desirable.

 

An application...hmmm. Good idea.

Yes btu the game changed in thoses few years. I read radu's idead against dagers such as "having 2 daggers would do more damage as a sword at a cheaper price" - now this is not true because of greater swords implemented ingame (which didn't exist 6 years ago right ? ;>)

 

You can't use a shield too, so chose damage or defense. Anyway i'm not for thoses "2 daggers use" weapons. But i still think daggers would be nice to adapt some training. We could use some weapon with high accuracy and lower damage that cutlass.

Yes btu the game changed in thoses few years.
It's not like Roja went on vacation for a few years and isn't aware of those changes :)
