IP banned?

Recommended Posts

Hi. After a bit of an absence, my wife and I are trying to log in to play but it says our IP address is banned (again?) and we don't know why. Could you please un-ban our IP addy as we really want to get on again. Our chars are: TheSpread, Vosperette and my little project char PotBot. Thanks v much :-)

Hi.

No, the IP range will not be unbanned, major problems from it.

However you can be whitelisted.

I will whitelist TheSpread and Vosperette, however alts are not whitelisted, as it is not fair to fill up the finite number of spaces with alts but refuse first characters of others.

On that subject...

what exactly do you mean by "a project char" ? I hope you have read all of rule 5, and also looked at the rules for bots (and bots to be) and guild storage characters too.

Hi. Thanks for whitelisting TheSpread & Vosperette, but I would like you to whitelist PotBot too pls. I am trying to level him up a bit to be a potion bot for me in the future (as per your post and other posts in the Bots section of these forums):

".....a store or guard bot.

--Any leveling done to the bot on your part MUST be done before it is turned into a bot.

--All testing must..."

I don't really feel like it is justified to with-hold PotBot from me when I have been trying to level him up (albeit slowly as: 1) I prefer to concentrate on my main char & 2) I haven't been on in a bit due to work). Therefore, I would appreciate his being whitelisted as I do not believe that the added capacity used by my having a bot would place undue strain on anything.

Again, my thanks in advance for accomadating this request :-)

Bots need to be declared and applied for through entropy and any desired leveling done in approximately a month from that give or take. Until it gets flagged with bot status and the purple name, it is considered an alt (subject to all player rules including #5). As such, we are not going to indefinitely whitelist an alt. I understand your feeling that your own one little alt won't make or break the list, however when everybody on the whitelist says "but my one little alt won't hurt anything" then suddenly the list is full. I cannot justify putting everybody's alt on the whitelist, and everyone feels they have good reason.

Given that you seem to be in no rush to do this, I have to decline putting your alt on the whitelist until a more aggressive plan is in place. Also I'm a bit puzzled about a "potion bot", and why it needs a/d levels. It certainly does not seem as though you are leveling it for being a tradebot, looking at it's stats and attributes. And it certainly cannot be a bot to make potions for you.

Ok, so I can't have it back until I have an "aggressive plan" for leveling it but then I can? Ok, don't delete it, just leave it blocked for now. When I can convince my work not to send me abroad for 3-15 days at a time and I can afford the time to level it in a month, I'll do that.

As for the levels, I know a blessed bot gets 500 c & p added to it but do you realise how little that is when the pots you want to make for it are mostly 5emu and sometimes higher? This makes 500 C&P not a lot really, and considering money, I can't really justify getting a double blessing just yet so I want to level his a/d for where I plan to put him and also, the few extra C&P points I can get will be a big help for his carry cap. I used a/d for leveling his oa as I don't wish to be seen to have a bot that can pot / manu / alc etc on a viable commercial basis, also the mm perk costs pp's which I want to go towards carry cap so he must be strong enough to be ignored. I thought this was more sensible than having a bot named PotBot with a potting lvl of like 50+. It would've looked somewhat suspect....

One last point. As for people having an alt or two, not long before my job changed and I was required to stay away, Radu came on and said because of a server test, he wanted everyone's alts on and if we didn't have one to make one or four. Does this not at least imply the he accepts and even encourages alts? If so, surely he is leading by example? Either way....

Aside from the rambling here, I would like to say: Ok, leave it blocked for now and I will sort out the time to get it done. Also, thanks again for whitelisting our mains, at least we can play (well, I can when I'm here...). Oh yes, and I have read the rules and PotBot can't make potions and if he could, I wouldn't multi with him cos if he made the pots, my main wouldn't get the exp / lvls and PotBot is, after all, only going to be a bot.....

Umm this is quite a stretch lol...

The only reason for that request was to test server load at one time...also I guess you missed the part where people were asked to killme yes the new ones made for this purpose. This was a one time event. It had nothing to do with accepting or encouraging alts.

Either way this is simply about the whitelist and really, it's nice we have one at all.
