Linux client part 2

Still have to run it with my shell script I mentioned before, but it works :lipssealed:

 

UVP is still 0, but my FPS seems to be higher based on where i'm sitting right now in EVTR and a short trip to Ida

Unless Im doing something stupid, Wine starts up for some reason when I click on it (id like to know if anyone else has this problem). Running Kubuntu 7.10.

Ah, Yes, That fixed it. Starts Up BUT

Illegal instruction (core dumped)

 

=/ and crashes.

 

ADD:

 

Fixed the missing file thing, Now I just get the core dumped error

On my 32bit system (not in siggy yet; edit: it's a GeForce3 in there) I get an illegal instruction as well, after logging in (i.e. upon loading the actual game).

Will try on 64bit system now (usually using cvs client there, getting weird flashes in the water at iotf by the way...).

 

edit2: the 64 bit binary runs on the system #1 without problems so far... however, it doesn't have the ($name on $server) in the window title. actually not:

./el.x86-64.linux.bin: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.1.2/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.9' not found (required by ./el.x86-64.linux.bin)

Not sure what info you need here...

el.x86.linux.bin.bz2 works nice om my ubuntu linux 7.10

i just replaced the old el.x86.linux.bin

 

 

nvidia xfree86 / xorg

problems till now:

water-refections are flickering

fighting animatiion interrupted - changes between fighting and waiting

better:

smooth animations

The water flicking happens to me in the Semi Static, try reducing your shadow mapping size to 512 or lower

I am getting this when trying to start the 1.6.0 :

System is Ubuntu 7.10 with an Nvidia Gforce card. 1.5.0 just works fine with a binary somebody compiled on a slackware box. Whereas the original 1.5 from the website never worked.

 

Could somebody maybe compile it again either on Ubuntu/Debian/Slackware and post a download link? That would be a great help.

 

Where can I get the missile_defs.xml file from? Maybe I should go fixing it from there.

I started lagging real bad in EVTR. My framerates dropped to 8.
