Forthcoming update

Recommended Posts

With the upcoming archery skill, and the prospect of a more than normal influx of new players ( assuming the German mag launch is still scheduled for soon after the update) I think there may be problems on IP with a lot of unimaginative types going there to level ranging, and therefore taking potential spawns from newbies.

Is it possible to block usage of ranged weapons on IP, or implement a rule against it?

well i sorda think its a good idea.

It is unfair to the new players to have everyone ranging.

But then how are people going to train on ranging.

Maybe we could get a temporary spawn of 200 rabbits on ip every 10 min??

Um.. the magazine already came out.. and it wasn't as big as expected..

People are just gonna have to go find spawns elsewhere :lipssealed:

And daiske1.. are you on crack? 200 every 10 minutes? lmao...

Em, 200 bunnies per 10 min? That's madness!

Yeah, people are just gonna have to suck it up and find there own less populated spwns.

He is talking about newbies! You cannot expect an unexperienced newbie to go elsewhere for some spawn. He/she doesn't know the game and maps. IP should stay withouth ranging weapons, it's a good suggestion and I agree.

Maybe the rangers will find out they don't get very much exp killing rabbits on bright map especially when they can kill couple of rabbits in a minute because of newbie crowd and other idiot archers?

You can train on other things too, like foxes/wolves/boars/gobs whatever, as long as you can kill it barehanded you can train on every thing you want...

While we're at it, why don't we put this 200/minute spawn in a multi map?

And in a matter of days...Tada!

But sadarar's original idea isn't that bad :o

I agree with villek... testing on test server I noticed rabbits on ip would give very sucky exp... so many better places to go. I dont think it will be a problem at all.

acutally it all depends on how ranging works.

I mean if it is going to work as if we can attack and the creature we kill can't attack back or we shoot then they do close combat with us which is kinda unfair.

So really we could attack like orcs and stuff if we stood behind a fence or something as long as they can't walk around the fence.

It all depends on how ranging and how the creature reacts to the attack.

You can test it by yourself on test server.

Not a bad suggestion, in my opinion.

I believe the archers should be encouraged to go find their own spawns to train, they'll know the game better anyway. Prevention is still prudent, though (people = bastards. Uh-huh.)
