extrapolation Report post Posted March 5, 2008 seems my spells are stronger against weak creatures: can mana drain bears for 30 (they have 30 mana) every time tried mana draining a white tiger (it supposedly has 45 mana) and only got 20 life draining bears i get max 29 life draining unarmed skeletons i get max ~33 harmed a cyclops and did 47 damage, when with rationality 24 and magic 53 i would have expected 100+ damage, assuming ent went ahead with the prototype formula. iirc it's (rat/100)*9*magic level none of these creatures have magic resistance according to the CEL website can anyone help me?? Puntif Report post Posted March 6, 2008 I don't know the exact answer but I do know that magic is affected by the rationality of the targetted player. It would also be affected by magic resistance. Some creatures may have higher rationalities or have magic resistance or both.

I believe white tigers can have very high magic resistance. The magic resistance of any given creature is simply unknown. As for your formula, let's assume halfway to max rationality (24), and magic level 100: 24/100*9*100 = 216. This is more life than most creatures and players alike have. This number would increase to 432 if rationality is maxed out. That's completely unreasonable, and I'm glad such a formula was not used.
Atlantis Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Its magic resistance, which you (players) can get from certain equipment (such as Warlock Cape, if I remember correctly). Some animals (like tigers and Phantom Warriors) are very resistant to magic attacks, so it is difficult to kill them using magic. Players can get this protection too, but it is not very useful since magic immunity is almost always used.
extrapolation Report post Posted March 7, 2008 k thanks everyone for your replies suppose it all makes sense but kinda a shame from a selfish point of view that i wont be able to one-bomb arctic chims at 70 magic and max rationality
