trollson Report post Posted March 5, 2008 (edited) Fine tribute from "Penny Arcade" E. Gary Gygax, the co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons, died aged 69 yesterday, 4 March 2008. Without him we would have no RPG or MMORPGs nowadays. The Registry has a nice thematic summary of the news. In the news: The Registry Associated Press Wikipedia BBC News E. Gary Gygax as he appeared in Futurama, second from right In a curiously twist of fate, the 4 March has been known as "GM's Day" in certain circles for several years (see "Daily Illuminator", Steve Jackson Games). I guess that this will cement that date now. (this may be worthy of being moved to General) Edited March 5, 2008 by trollson
larrystorch Report post Posted March 6, 2008 I dug out my box or old D&D books that I've had for 25 and read thru them after I heard the news. Thanks to him, I entered a world of geekdom that let me play D&D, AD&D 1st & 2nd, Hackmaster, Werewolf:The Apocalypes, and many others. He was a great man. *Rolls up a character for old times sake*
