Bot Allowances

Recommended Posts

So we all know bots aren't allowed to move automatically...but what about rotation? Can they "spin"? Seems like it wouldn't have much use, but hey...who knows.

Rotate and sit/stand are allowed. Some bots even have commands to you can make them "dance". And of course guard-bots can move about their maps either to attack or to follow patrol routes.

Don't know if thread is dead or not. But many bots have cmd's by the owner of the bot that they can pm to the bot itself to make him stand or sit as stated in the above by bkc56. Im not to sure for spining though. But it can be dancing lol. I don't see any harm in it. So it should be ok. Just do like stated by others and check with ent when ya make program to see if would be ok for it to be able to do etc. :)

You know, this could form the basis of an interesting multi-bot game. If each bot faced in a certain direction that led to another bot, you could leave a trail of bots to trace and try and find the end of. And if you add a codeword to be PM'ed to the correct bot next in line, which would reply with a new codeword, you could form a secret code-breaking / trail-following game that could easily be changed every now and then for endless fun.

If the bot owners are willing, I would definitely want to see if we can try and organise this as a contest.
