Roja Report post Posted December 17, 2006 Ok the majority likes the dragon so we're definetly going with that Here are the options I narrowed it down to: ...And I really like both of them! It's a very hard decision. I'm also thinking maybe both can be used, in whichever situation works best for which one, but i don't know, maybe it's better just to stick to one. Also different colors can be used on just the dragon-only one, depending on what background it's on.
Sasiro Report post Posted December 17, 2006 I like the dragon with diamond but I think just the dragon looks better in small size so I went with that
Roja Report post Posted December 17, 2006 oops, if you don't see a glowly outline around the dragon in the 2nd banner image, refresh the page I made a quick update right after I posted, so some of you may have seen the old version.

larrystorch Report post Posted December 17, 2006 (edited) As a stand alone logo, I like the one with the diamond but...when used in a banner ad style box like is used at the header of the forums I like it better without because it's less busy. BlacKat Report post Posted December 17, 2006 I think the Diamond shaped logo looks better,i like the idea of an old map.But it all needs more wear and tear, it looks all to new. Put some black in it, make it look like old ink or something. After all i really like the old logo
Coffeehunger Report post Posted December 17, 2006 I like both but if I have to choose one I'd choose the one on the diamond background. Both are really cool. Well done Coffee
scarr Report post Posted December 17, 2006 dragon one only dragon into dimond looks verry wrong tbh
Quilan Report post Posted December 17, 2006 Having looked at them both.. back and forth for about two minutes, I've voted for Dragon In Diamond. D.I.D looks nice as a stand-alone icon and doesn't detract from the E' L' silver words. Whereas, the Dragon Alone just impacts too much on the E' L' silver words and shmushes the whole thing into a muddle... D.I.D. rox
scarr Report post Posted December 17, 2006 and the right one looks on big picture diffrent then the 1 in banner, it has a brown stroke..
LadyReni Report post Posted December 17, 2006 Just the dragon, looks more professional, it shows that the one who draw it is a mature designer. Really nice Roja.
Roja Report post Posted December 17, 2006 I updated the red dragon image here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v59/ffle...r/dragonred.jpg Just to show another example of a use for the logo, along with the name beside it which i normall didn't have, but wanted. I'm liking the dragon only logo better now
Suessie Report post Posted December 17, 2006 As a stand alone logo, I like the one with the diamond but...when used in a banner ad style box like is used at the header of the forums I like it better without because it's less busy. That's exactly what I think. I like both.
scarr Report post Posted December 17, 2006 the background of the dimond just so doesnt fit the dragons style looks like you made the dragon in ullustrator and the background with photoshop and combined, dont use it! ;(
The_Piper Report post Posted December 17, 2006 I didnt vote. In some situations, the diamond dragon may be more useful because it has a border, in others the standalone dragon looks better imo. Use both and choose always the best looking one. Piper

LabRat Report post Posted December 17, 2006 Dragon in the diamond for me CorelDRAW! has earned me a *lot* of money in the past, I used it professionally from version 3 onwards (version 4 sucked though ) I think I still have a corelDRAW 12 cd lying round here somewhere.. Mar(c) Report post Posted December 17, 2006 Very nice going with the dragons! I really like the worn paper look of the diamond logo, so I voted for that one. Two small things: I'd like to see the dragon/EL be a bit more one with the paper; structure of the paper a bit showing through, and the edges cutting it off. And can the beak a little bit less parrot-beak-ish?
Tanyia Report post Posted December 17, 2006 I second exactly what Pip said. Nice work!
